Common Questions and Answers about How vesicare works

vesicare

1056851 tn?1318720978 I'm taking 5mg of Vesicare, too. My neuro's PA wants me to take 10mg, but it dried out my mouth too much when I tried it. It works pretty good - it's not perfect. I still get incontinence - but maybe not so often. It has also reduced my urgency and frequency, but again, it's not perfect.
721523 tn?1331581802 MY thinking is you might give it a try and see how it works for you. I am on Toviaz after trying a couple different bladder meds. Since I already have a serious problem with retention and do ISC, having the drugs add to that problem was not an issue. I just tap out a few times a day to keep it calm.
Avatar f tn can someone please tell that which medicine works best for OAB ........VESICARE,ENABLEX OR DETROL LA..........I m male and 29 yrs old ,can i also take detrol la.....Any response should be highly appreciated..........
1188179 tn?1350116119 I have been on Ditropan, then Ditropan XR (or EX, don't remember which is correct) and after about 10 years that didn't work, so my doctor put me on Enablex and that works pretty well. Then I got a new Dr. and he wanted to switch me to Vesicare. That didn't work well, either, and I began having episodes of incontinence and urgency again. It's almost open enrollment for Medicare Part D, and the plan that is the most affordable otherwise doesn't cover Enablex at all anymore.
Avatar f tn I was on 10mg of Vesicare, and asked a similar question on this forum yesterday about Vesicare. Cheers, Udkas.
Avatar n tn d recommend anyway. Talk to your urologist about going off the Vesicare and see how you do. If it WAS just the anxiety and excitement surrounding the trip, you'll know soon enough. As for the anxiety and depression, just make sure your doctors are aware that you intend to try getting pregnant. Some medications you need to be off for several months before attempting pregnancy. Hopefully you can deal with both these issues in your therapy and not need meds.
Avatar m tn I'm using Vesicare and Lyrica and I just got my urinalysis result and they're normal. Can Vesicare and Lyrica affect urinalysis? Are they antibiotics?
Avatar m tn I was put on Vesicare 5 mg daily and also was taking fluoxetine for depression and anxiety over this condition. After taking the meds for awhile my symptoms went away and I was symptom free for 3 years. Because of the expense of the vesicare and because I was doing so well. I decided to stop taking both medications. My bladder was fine and normal and then about a year later the symtoms came back. So I am now back on the vesicare and the fluoxetine.
Avatar n tn does anyone get headaches from taking vesicare?? They seen to go away with advil. Anyone had these symptons, did they lessen with longer use of vesicare??
Avatar m tn which meant I had to return to my urologist....He gave me elmiron and vesicare to treat the IC....the Elmiron never helped my pain and, the Vesicare took my blood pressure from 113/72 pulse 68 to 153/103 pulse 122...I contacted my urologist and, he stated...that's not true ... neither of these meds would cause your blood pressure to go up...well, I called him back four days later...
Avatar f tn She suggested that it is a medication that works in the urethra and would not have the same side effects of vesicare and that I would know if it was working in one week. She did not appear however to be able to give an indication as to whether this medication would require to be used in the long term or whether it could lead to a resolution of the difficulties.
Avatar n tn i had a cmg test done today and the nusre told me it was the worst case of bladder spasm that she has ever seen and brought in other medical staff to see this they have put me on vesicare tablets 10 mg and i am wondering if there is anything else can be done i am worried in case it means i need to be catherterised because of this how likely is this ?
Avatar m tn 4)mg but the urge to urinate was there all the time so my doctor added (Vesicare 5mg). It was good for few weeks but then the urge got stronger and I was again given Bactrim DS for 4 weeks and now even with Bactrim DC I am not feeling any better. Few days back the doctor increased the dose of Floamx to 0.8 mg and stopped the Vesicare. It did not help and the urge to urinate is there all the time and there is tightness in the bladder. I also took Celebrex for few days and it helped a little bit.
Avatar m tn said I had a stenosis and atrophy of the urethra. Gave me a script for Vesicare but told me to wait a few days to see how procedure goes. also mentioned estrogen Creme. I am miserable....what should I do?
333672 tn?1273792789 Yes, I know that's a weird question. I am going for a urodynamics test in January and in preparation I have to do a voiding diary for two days where I write down everything I drink, how often I pee, and how much comes out. I feel like I go to the bathroom a lot (but I also drink a lot) so I was just wondering how often everyone else goes. So if you're interested, take a 24-hour period, count how many times you go to the bathroom and answer these questions.
Avatar m tn I have been using VESICARE for some time now, it does decrease the number of visit to the bathroom, however when you stop using it...the problem comes back. Its like it just manages the active bladder but doesn't cure it. Been using it for more than 2 years now.
Avatar m tn Started me on Levaquin 500mg PO QD x 7 days and Vesicare 10mg PO QD.The cyst went down but the pain around the epdidymis persisted w/ no change. After 4 weeks of Vesicare I still have no change in my nocturia. I had an ultrasound of my bladder, testicles, kidneys all normal. I then had a cystoscopy done which showed no abnormalities besides a tight sphincter. My urologist told me to continue the Vesicare which I have been doing.

Avatar n tn I am a 23 year old female who has the constant urge to urinate on and off for two months now. Various doctors have checked for a UTI and there is none. I have been on macrobid, vesicare and now I'm on flavoxate. Each of these medicines have worked for about a week and then I get the constant urge to urinate again. I just started the flavoxate and I have not gotten any relief. I'm not in any pain, but the constant urge to urinate seems painful and is affected my daily life greatly.
Avatar f tn I have having OAB for years now, i am on vesicare medication but it is not really helping. Over the years i also been having ED here and there but recently it is getting worse...esp when i stop taking meds. Been seeing different urologist but they cant seem to find anything wrong with me. I am 34years.
569676 tn?1315641158 Below is an article explaining how and why suboxone works. This was written by Dr. Richard Gracer and is very well written in understandable terms. How Buprenorphine Works Buprenorphine (Subutex) is an FDA approved drug that is used to treat opiate (narcotic) dependence and prevent its relapse, to decrease the withdrawal symptoms when getting off opiates and in some specific circumstances to treat chronic pain.
Avatar n tn Urologist ran another urinalysis and did another pelvic ultrasound, again all clean and negative. He gave me 5 mg of Vesicare to take once daily and told me to come back in a month. After 2 weeks, no relief from the Vesicare, so he gave me a 10 mg doseage. I return to see him on Monday (Feb. 11). My problem is, I have had this pain for 4 months now. I don't know what to do about it. I have tried eliminating citrus, acids, caffeine, etc.
Avatar f tn I don't know about Methadone, Susie but I had the same problem. I've been on Hydromorphone (Dilaudidi) and Morphine ER postoperatively for knee surgery. It was so bad that the urine would actually start running down my legs before I could get to the bathroom. It had started out as OAB (overactive bladder) and got progressively worse. It was a real dilemna because with the post op pain I couldn't move fast, but the urgency required me to move fast.
