1218873 tn?1300091216 Hi i wondered if anyone could explain there experience of Pregabalin (Lyrica?) i have been on Gabapentin for the last 3 months with only a little success (the twitches have reduced considerably) but no relief pain. Now the Dr is going to swap me to Pregabalin which has to be done slowly to switch from one to the other, so this will start as soon as I'm home from holiday. I wondered if anyone had done this and what there experience of the drugs are?
1252153 tn?1269094321 can anyone tell me what Lyrica is and Savella, in england Lyrica is a company who make a drug called Pregabalin, thats what i am on now, been back to doc 2day and he has give me a larger dose of pregabalin.
901222 tn?1399142874 s actually for fibromyalgia or nerve pain not really sure but I got shot in the face and jumped a year later and they hit me in the jaw with a sledge hammer and it works good for me. If not you can always try suboxone that's specifically for getting off opiates and I think it helps with pain a little too but I would try the lyrica first and see if that works. Hope this was helpful for you and good luck.
Avatar m tn The pain is all from inflamed nerve endings and the only pain killer that I have been given from the doc that works is one called LYRICA (pregabalin) as it works specifically on nerve ending pain. Sex is definately a no no as it inflames the whole thing.

Avatar f tn I have recently seen my Neurologist, who has confirmed I am suffering with Anxiety and has suggested I go on a drug called Pregabalin and he has said it will help my sleep problem. My question is has anyone had any experiences with this drug, if so comments very welcome.
Avatar f tn i've had Keinbocks Disease for over 10 years now, have had 4 operations each one worse than the last but nothing seems to be working. 1253197 tn?1331209110 I was on 1800mg a day and put on a stone over 4 months! I have now swapped to pregabalin and I am beginning to lose the weight. I changed drug because the Gabapentin was not controling my symptoms enough nothing to do with the weight gain, I am now on 400mg of Pregabalin and I am try to lose the weight I have gained so far I have lost half a stone in about three weeks. I know that there are many people who feel that Pregabalin also makes them put on weight.
Avatar m tn Yesterday my doctor said to me that my first problem is GAD and not depression, so she prescribed Lyrica, 75mg in the morning and 75mg at night. I hope that this will finally works and i will be able to live again. So, has anyone got any experience of taking Lyrica/Pregabalin, on it's own just for GAD? Does it work? Any feedback would be really helpful.
2107676 tn?1388973859 I am back on Effexor (which was hell to taper off of), and pregabalin and fighting hard not to take too much pregabalin to ease the withdrawals. Luckily I have been sleeping quite a bit but I'm awake now and feeling like hell. It just seems like I have been through a year of fighting not to go through this hell and here I end up again.
Avatar m tn Capsaicin Cream is a topical analgesic. Exactly how it works is unknown, but it is thought to decrease the amount of a certain substance (substance P) that transmits pain in the body. Capsaicin comes from chili peppers, that's what give it warmth. If you are experiencing a hive like blotches you may be reacting to an ingredient in the Capsaicin. Some redness is normal.... and your body is reacting to that hot substance. Are you allergic to peppers?
Avatar f tn I am not familiar with the combination but I am sure someone here has tried it.
3122908 tn?1342154651 I can guarantee not only will your pain come back, but you will so miserable! I take its cousin, pregabalin, for nerve pain in my back, and occasionally I run low on them and you would not believe how many aches and pains a person really has until they quit a drug to help all that. It is a fairly mild drug, however, so it's not like you won't be able to function, you just won't be a happy camper.
Avatar m tn So my GP prescribed me static neck exercise, swimming and prescribed to take Pregabalin-M 75 (Pregabalin-Methylcobalamine tablets 75mg) For 1 month and then stop. I took 5 doses yet. But I'm having this following side-effects - dizziness, sleepiness whole day, lack of interest and and concentration, bad mood, sexually charged dreams, erection problem and lack of libido or interest in sexual desire. I have a high libido by default. But I'm not feeling it since I took the medicines.
Avatar f tn t know what do as I have exteme nerve pain and Lyrica is the only thing that works and works well.
569676 tn?1315641158 Below is an article explaining how and why suboxone works. This was written by Dr. Richard Gracer and is very well written in understandable terms. How Buprenorphine Works Buprenorphine (Subutex) is an FDA approved drug that is used to treat opiate (narcotic) dependence and prevent its relapse, to decrease the withdrawal symptoms when getting off opiates and in some specific circumstances to treat chronic pain.
Avatar f tn I need something but I am afraid the Lyrica and Prozac might interact with Dilaudid. Has anyone used Dilaudid to manage Fibro pain? How does its effects compare to Vicodin? Any advice would help - thank you.
Avatar f tn (I’ve also had conservative treatment, injections etc, but only had temporary relief) Since the surgery the leg pain seemed to have gone until last night so I was back on the pregabalin again. Has anyone else had this surgery. How long does it take before you know whether it’s worked or not?
Avatar f tn From what I've been reading it could be what is called Central Post Stroke Pain (CPSP) or Thalamic Pain Syndrome. There are several treatments that seem to help but you should seek your neurologist. A combination of low dose amitriptyline (10 - 50 mg at night) plus gabapentin (300 - 1800 mg per day) or pregabalin (50 - 600 mg per day) produces the best pain relief with the lowest incidence of side effects.
Avatar m tn It is possible it could help with withdrawals, but I believe that is on an individual basis and not something that works across the board for everyone.
