I attribute my erection problems to the Propecia tablet that I take daily. As you know, Propecia is 1 mg. of finasteride. Propecia has been shown to cause side effects such as erectile problems in a small minority of users. Unfortunately, I appear to be in that small minority. Once my erection problems surfaced, I began looking for a solution. I do not want to stop taking Propecia because it has done wonders for my hair.
As info, more than likely your is going to fall out with or without Propecia. I don't know how Propecia will effect the treatment drugs but some hair loss will be unavoidable.
My mindset during treatment was the less drugs I had to take, the better off I was because the treatment drugs are very powerful and I didn't want my body to have to metabolize any more drugs than absolutely necessary.
Taking Viagra clearly works, try a small amount (cut up a 100 mg in 4 or 8 roughly equal pieces) and see how it works for you. I used Proscar (Propecia) years ago and definitely felt it killed my libido. It does dramatically lower DHT, a sex hormone *supposedly* only needed during your growing years - but nobody has ever explained how a crucial sex hormone just suddenly becomes unimportant when you turn 18. Try generic minoxidil to keep your hair instead.
Not sure what the guidelines are over in America, but in the UK they recommend you don't have more than 200mg of caffeine a day - that includes drinks and medicines x
My sex drive is no where near where it was before taking propecia and besides the erections I get in the morning or when I am sleeping, I still do not get spontaneous erections. I also don't get erections unless physically stimulated. My imagination or the sight of an attractive girl doesn't do it like it did prior to taking the drug. I don't feel aroused or want sex hardly ever.
I think your question is fair enough. Your hair is going to fall out in excess on treatment even with the use of Propecia or Rogaine; that is just one of the unfortunate side effects. Hair restoration meds are not cheap and personally I wouldn't waste my money on it until several months after you have completed treatment.
