Common Questions and Answers about How long before estrogen patch works

vivelle-dot

Avatar f tn Is Estrace otc or prescription? How long have you been taking it and how long before you started feeling better after you started taking it?
Avatar f tn my doctor suggested we lower the dose to the .375 to see if it will help! How long will it be before I see the weight come off?
Avatar f tn I never even knew I would have withdrawal, although I may be being really naive. Anyway...how long do these symptoms last? The worst is restless leg, but the runny nose and severe pain in my back and elsewhere is pretty bad, too. I feel like I can't stand it another minute.
Avatar f tn When I left the hospital I was fine emotionally for about a week, as they placed a large estrogen patch on my abdomen before I woke up form surgery. When that evidently started to wear off, the EXACT SAME SYMPTOMS from when I was 20 came back with a vengeance - cold sweat panic attacks/severe can't-stop-crying depression, etc.
Avatar f tn m sure the NP went over it with me, but my memory is totally shot.) I am just not sure exactly how the Fentanyl patch works. I know it releases the medicine through your skin over a period of hours. I started out changing it every 72 but she changed it to every 48. What I'm wondering is, if I were to take it off and not put another one on, how long would the medicine still work? I am pretty sure when she started me on this she said it takes about 12 hours to kick in.
Avatar f tn Unfortunately, HRT is very individual and can take a bit of trial and error to find what works for you. I hope you can get it figured out sooner than later because I know how miserable it is until you find what works. Good luck! Keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Could you tell me if eating soy would interfere with the estrogen patch I take? I am on the vivelle patch .1mg and was wondering if eating edamames would help. Can the phytoestrogens be taken with the estrogen patch? Thank you so much for your help!
429647 tn?1249753429 my ttumor was tested and it was estrogen positive i am on an estrogen blocker.. how about asking your doc if the tumor was estrogen positive or not.
Avatar n tn t have, and was placed on a higher dose of estrogen. I use the vivelle dot patch, oral estrogen and vaginal estrogen. This seems to have helped the urinary problems amongst other things. Are you on hormone replacement? There is a great book I am reading called "Screaming to be heard" by Elizabeth Vliet MD and it really goes into detail on how hormones affect every organ system. Are you on Hormone replacement? I hope this helps, and I hope you get some answers.
1168718 tn?1464983535 Hi, I'm on a HRT (Vivelle-Dot) but I'm also a limbolander, but I might be of some help. I was put on Vivelle-Dot after loosing all my hormones due to a hysterectomy. Both Vivelle-Dot and Climara seem to contain estradiol (a form of estrogen bioidentical to your body's own). In the summer, I have been on this med for a year. I was put on this med right after my last form of hormone was removed (which was one ovary by this point).
Avatar n tn Hi! I have low estrogen and normal FSH (I'm 38, though). My course of action is to wear an estrogen patch from 3 days after ovulation to 12 days after ovulation (since that's when mine is dropping off). I have heard of (and tried it once, but didn't like how I felt) that the patch can also be worn during CD8-12 to help with low estrogen. My acupuncturist told me that the patch is the most similar to actual estrogen (versus pills) so I pushed for that!
778044 tn?1299542934 I have a question for anyone using the Ortho Evra Patch to help control their endometriosis. It says right on the box that you are exposed to 60% more estrogen using the patch then other birth control pills. Since estrogen "feeds" endometriosis, how does this make sense? I have been advised by my doctor after 6 months of Lupron injections, to use the patch consistantly (not having a patch off week and not getting a period) until we are ready to get pregnant.
Avatar n tn Your doctor probably has heard so many things, Bio identical hrt comes in many forms vaginal suppositorys or cremes, creme to apply to arm or leg, mists that you spray on,,I had wondered if patients sensitive to surgical tape and such would be sensitive to the patch, now I know !!! Once you find a product that works for you, you feel a little bit better each and every day.
Avatar m tn d only been on the estrogen for a very short time before the blood was drawn. T4 is very long lasting and takes time to build in your blood, so I suspect your FT4 was already high before the patch. However, the patch might help to lower your levels now, but that won't happen immediately; it'll take time. I'm in Sisters. Where did you live in OR?
Avatar n tn Right now the annoying stiff feeling of the patch/insision is bothering me. About how long before it starts to feel more normal? I can't turn my head more than a few degrees either side right now. Iv also got that very annoying post op depression, but that had to be expected as my sister and mother both get super depressed for a few weeks after surgery.
Avatar f tn I am on my second ivf attempt using donor eggs. I am on estrogen pill, patch, progesterone caps and progesterone shots. Anybody with positive outcomes? They transfered 2 embryos on Aug 13. I am so frustrated- yet hopeful this works.
216278 tn?1308861082 So, I am 13dpo today. I took off the estrogen patch yesterday. I had a VERY restless night sleeping last night (woke at 2 and couldn't fall back asleep until after 4 - very unusual)....I could list a ton of 'symptoms' but none of them matter because they can all be explained by the increased estrogen due to the patch! So, I can only wait to see if my dreams come true this month of not! But the hardest part is that I feel so alone and sad right now (this came on pretty suddenly....)!
Avatar f tn Estrogen causes some of the glands in the breast tissue to swell .Birth control patch causes consistent release of estrogen which causes elevated estrogen levels throughout the body making the breasts become larger. If you are too concerned it will be best to discuss it with your gynecologist. I hope it helps. Best luck and regards!
Avatar f tn Since then I have been on an estrogen patch and felt great for the first couple of months after the procedure. I began to experience low back pain; particularly in the morning. So severe at times that I can hardly bend to put on my shoes. I did gain 20lbs but I am still active at 46 years old. Is it possible to have a prolaspe bladder as I feel that there is something coming out of me. Also, when I have sneezed or coughed, I feel a ripping in my abdomin but does not hurt.
