Common Questions and Answers about How does ofloxacin work

floxin

Avatar n tn You probably have some form of acne, and its appearance at this point is just coincidental to your having taken Ofloxacin. Your rash does not sound like a yeast infection. I suggest that you keep working with your dermatological practitioner to get this under control. Best. Dr.
Avatar m tn Upon reading through the forums related to STDs, found out that some folks were prescribed with ofloxacin. Without consulting a doctor, I am self medicating now after googling what's ofloxacin is for. 3 days ago I took 2 400mg and subsequently 200mg every 12 hours. So far, the irritation when I'm urinating and the tingling has subsided significantly. My question is, shall I still continue taking the ofloxacin until the 7th or 10th day from the day I started taking it?
Avatar m tn 5 yrs started complaining of stomach pain and diarrhea four days back when the doctor prescribed ofloxacin and metronidazole suspension which had some effect in the first two days but worsened later. Subsequently we got his stool examined which tested positive with RBCs, mucous, pus cells and tiny specs of blood. The docter then gave ofloxacin and ornidazole suspension.
Avatar n tn On 3/21/07 she had stomach flu,5/24/07 she woke up with a bloody looking eye it's ALWAYS on the same eye (right)on the inner part of the sclera & it never spreads to the other eye,she always says it hurts & it swells up a little. Her pediatrician thought it was conjuvitis & rx Ofloxacin .3% it cleared up in 3 days.
Avatar n tn I'm a 40 year-old American living in Thailand. A few months ago I had unprotected sex with a female coworker. About 10-12 days later I noticed a burning sensation in the tip of my penis (it felt similar to when soap gets in the urethra). The burning intensified over the next few days. It does not hurt when I urinate and no need to urinate more than normal. There is no discharge - just a slight whitish mucous visible only if I squeeze the tip. Co-worker has no symptoms.
Avatar m tn from all the antibiotics i finished and took, i find ofloxacin the most effective. is it safe to take ofloxacin again for 7 days, twice a day? or will the bacteria i have get immuned to it? im planning to go to the doc tomorrow and probably ask for a injection this time and std check up if they can.
Avatar n tn Hello! I am an MD and work at a very busy Urgent Care. I was trained in Family Medicine and have some questions for my ENT specialist friends- 1. Any recommended reference for PCPs to quickly look up standard treatment and f/u for ENT conditions? 2. What do you recommend for treatment with otalgia a/w effusion? Also, any necessary f/u or eval by ENT needed? 3. For AOM are you okay with amox 500mg bid or do you prefer tid? Do you add steroids, and if so how much? 4.
Avatar m tn Over this time I have taken azithromizing one dose, metronidizole one dose, nitrofuaretoin low dose for 5 days, oxytetracycline 7 days and have just been given ofloxacin 7 days and aciclover 5 days at same time to cover hsv a uti and prostatis. Any comments on my treatment as I feel like the doctors could just be throwing antibiotics at me? Would could it be? Yeast? Mycoplasma? Uti? Prostatis? Herpes? Could I be having a first hsv outbreak about 10 years after I may have unknowingly caught it?
Avatar m tn I contracted NGU through oral sex and was prescribed 10 days of Ofloxacin. I had urine test at 21 after the last pill which came out negative. My question is if it was too early to test? I still have clear discharge 1-2 times per week in the morning.
