Avatar n tn Why are you going to use them? I'm having a hard time finding anything on men using them, but I'm going to post some things that may be relevant. Why anyone shouldn't use progesterone - Liver tumors Genital cancer Breast cancer Severe arterial disease Undiagnosed vaginal bleeding Acute porphyrias Idiopathic jaundice Severe pruritus occurring during pregnancy Pemphigoid occurring during pregnancy https://www.medicalnewstoday.
Avatar n tn *****I know that this is controversial but I stand by my belief that the body treats the true bioidentical hormone as it would a hormone that our body once made.
Avatar f tn I had a complete hysterectomy 5 1/2 years ago at the age of 35 for a borderline serous tumor in one of my ovaries. I have been on the vivelle dot .1mg patch for several years with no problems. Lately, I have been having symptoms of low estrogen like hot flashes. Unfortunately, my gyn oncologist has retired so I have been seeing my regular ob for my yearly follow up.
Avatar f tn The thing is, these studies are on post menopausal women. I can see where taking a replacement hormone when your body should naturally not be making this hormone anymore could be bad and I wouldn't do it. But what about the people who were thrown into surgical menopause at a time their body would still be producing it?
718868 tn?1230730029 Does anyone know of any other type of hormone I should ask my physician about, as I am getting very weary of being this age and unable to do very much from my body being so tired and weary. Thank you for your time.
Avatar n tn I advise that you read up on bio-identical hormones, they come in may forms such as creames, mist sprays, pills, I personally found the patch to be the best method for me, very easy to use, and I think ( just my opinion) that the patch deliveres the most acurate does, ( except pills) Ive never been convinced mists or creams could be dosed properly. Yes deffinatley make an appointment with your Dr.
Avatar m tn Or do I just go on estriol cream/patch or estrogel cream....and then figure out if I need t add more, and how do I figure that out - how does one know if she needs progesterin/progestin or testosterone added (either the medical kind or the bio identical kind).
Avatar n tn Im reading a lot of advice against the use of hormone replacement therapy, but the studies I have researched report that its the combination of progesterone and estrogen that is bad for you, and that estrogen alone may actually decrease the risk of breast cancer. My question then is has anybody else read any studies similar?
Avatar f tn I had a hysterctomy almost 3 years ago at the age of 35 for a borderline serous tumor. My oncologist put me on an estrogen replacement patch and I have been using them ever since. With all the stuff in the news lately about HRT and their new findings, I would love to know your opinion. Are these studies only on women who have gone through natural menopause or do they also include women who were put into surgical menopause at a young age?
Avatar f tn They are having me increase my Progesterone shots from 1cc to 1.5ccs and get an Estrogen patch. The nurse says that this doesn't mean that the procedure didn't take but I am worried. It sounds like a bad sign. My question is for other people who have had IVF. Has this happened to you? Did it mean you weren't pregnant? I am being paranoid or should I prepare myself for the worst? I have had IUI twice and this is my first IVF.
Avatar m tn I have a white patch/spot on my scrotum. Its been there for a few weeks. I workout and play soccer almost everyday. It started out a little raised but when my exercised toned down that went away, however the white patch/spot is still there. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Avatar f tn ve had my female organs removed one at a time with a LSH in 2006, left oopheractomy in 2007 and right oopheractomy just two months ago in 2014. I awoke from my last surgery with a patch on and have used it as directed since. I use to get hormonal headaches every other month or so and was able to successfully treat them with one or two prescription pain pills for headaches.
720228 tn?1530911279 I have been on the Ortho Evra patch since Jan. 2012. My patch fell off about two weeks ago and then I started my cycle. After that week I put a new patch. This week on Wednesday my husband said that I should change my patch cause it looks like it might come off but I didn't do it until Thursday because that is my normal day to change the patch. On Friday I was spotting a little bit. I figured that my patch came off or was not on good enough.
178345 tn?1242536246 wondering if it has to do with the hormone patch??? I am eating well and losing weight (on purpose) so I dont know what is wrong..tomorrow I am seeing my primary MD..Just thought if anyone has any idea...please share..
Avatar n tn My recovery went well, except that my stomach muscles were sore (I had an open bikini cut), but now my incision no longer hurts. My concern is that I have been placed on the estrogen patch since one week after the surgery. I started having headaches, pains under my arms, and my feet started swelling more than usual. The doctor asked me to cut the patch in half, still changing it twice a week.
Avatar n tn or rather used a estrogen patch..Estrogen is available in many foms ,,lotions. body mist,,vaginal pellets,,,I like the patch its small acurate and easy to use...Please use bio identical..Premarin the "old-fashioned " estrogen is actually made from horses urine..Bi-Identical is the closest possible at this time to what your own body would make...I recommend Vivelle..Of corse you must discuss with your doctor what she or he thinks is best or you,,and then YOU decide...
Avatar n tn so im on the ortho evra patch and i accidently misunderstood and took it off too early i took it off monday the 21st and had sex wednesday the 23rd well the condom busted and well yeah well i took plan b one step within 6 hours of it happenein and put my birth control patch on as instructed to do so by my pharmacist guess im just asking how concerned should i be that im pregnant
Avatar f tn I seriously doubt that migranes are related to menopause..they are related to stress so by having stress from hyster, and medically induced menopause it could be said there is a connection. I saw the Ophrah show you speakof and I am 47 have had a medically induced menopause via hysterectomy also...my doctor recomedded bio identical hrt I only take estrogen...its good for bone desity, helps with nerves and anger outbursts I was having also took away hot flashes and insomnia..
Avatar n tn What type of medicine goes on the buttocks on a patch for men?? I dont know what the problem is, but i saw it on a friend and dont want to ask??
Avatar f tn Then go over the edges of the patch with your finger to ensure good contact around the patch. Try to avoid touching the sticky side of the patch with your fingers as this can effect the adhesive properties of the patch. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn I am currently on the patch and me and my husband want to have a baby but when I try to take the patch off, I bleed for weeks and weeks. I am not sure if this is normal. Eventually I get fed up with the bleeding so I put another patch on. But what can I do to conceive? Am I doing something wrong? Is the bleeding normal?
Avatar f tn Postmenopausal bleeding, timing of meds& 15mm lining by iatrofears, less than a minute Hi my last period was 11/2011 so i guess as of 11/2012 i started menopause. 216278 tn?1308861082 Hi! I am 2dpo and I started an Estradiol patch today to wear for the next week and a half. Of course, I am starting to second guess everything (typical start of my tww) Does anyone know if this could raise my estrogen TOO much, thus hurting my chances for pregnancy? I have posted a picture of the graph of my hormone levels when they did the full panel and I put the numbers in a journal to correspond with it!
