Avatar f tn With my last preg I had at least 2 yeast infections. I found washing with vagisil ph balance worked. Avoid sugar. Multiple infections can be a sign of GD. Have you had your glucose test yet?
Avatar f tn they will prescribe you something safe for baby. Sometimes yeast infections can mimic bv, a common bacterial infection in pregnancy.
Avatar f tn Monistat works like a charm for yeast infections! That's what my doctor told me I could take. Just over the counter. He recommended the 7-day treatment. Baby is protected by the bubble she's in, so the medication does not get to him/her. Perfectly safe! Unless as previously said, you have any other complications. I would talk to your doctor before you do anything. And like they said, anti biotics are needed for a bacterial infection. Good luck!
Avatar f tn If so, This will be my 3rd yeast infection in about a month. First time it was a yeast infection and BV. Doctor believes the 2nd yeast infection came from the antibiotic for BV. I just feel like I'm getting the symptoms again and I really hope not. This can't be healthy for me or my baby. It's driving me crazy!!! Anybody else going through this? I'm 17 weeks ftm!
Avatar f tn Douching upsets the natural balance of bacteria and yeast in your vagina and will cause infections. 2. Avoid bread and sugary foods as much as possible. If there is yeast in your vagina it is in the rest of your body too and sugar will just feed it. 3. Use condoms if you have sex. You CAN give a yeast infection to a guy (they usually get no symptoms) and then he will just keep passing it back to you. 4. Eat yogurt with live cultures in it - sugar free is best, but any kind helps. 5.
Avatar f tn The odor means the infection has not cleared up and you may need a different antibiotic, either pills and/or cream. You may have a propensity to yeast infections and adding cranberry juice or cranberry pills and yogurt to your diet may also help but see the Dr. first to get this cleared up.
Avatar f tn Is anybody getting yeast infections as often as you cure them? Im 6 months pregnant and I have never had this many yeast infections in my life. I only bathe with dial soap and the doctor said I shouldnt take baths, nothing but showers. Can anybody help me with some remedies or something to help with the yeast infections ??
Avatar f tn I believe they are common during pregnancy and yes your bf doing his business in there could be a factor... I don't get yeast infections but I get really irritated down there after sex.
Avatar f tn You should google other things to avoid to help prevent yeast infections. As well as things to promote a healthy balance of bacteria during your pregnancy.
548780 tn?1233769602 Many women will take an antibiotic for something like strep and then end up with yeast infections. They end up taking anti-fungals then to clear that up. I don't know how to get your body back in balance. You could try reading some holistic health books. Perhaps they have suggestions.
Avatar n tn t happen all the times but most times when I am dry. I am 32 years old and he is 49 I have went to the doctor and I keep getting yeast infections. I use the over the counter meds fr it and sometimes the doctor prescribes me creams but it keeps coming back. Is it coming back because I gave it to him and he brings it back to me each time? He is a diabetic and is uncircumcized but he is very clean and has good hygienes in that department.
Avatar f tn I had one when I soon found out i was pregnant! My midwife said probiotics are safe to take and of course yogurt is always a go to thing. She also told me if if I don't like yogurt I can always just dip a tampon in yogurt and insert it. It doesn't harm the baby at all just try not to keep it in for several hours. Also try using summer eve's body was, ith is the best thing for yeast infections.
1168718 tn?1464983535 Hi Girls, PLEASE !!!!!!!! LOL ...... boys, ignore this one.... Hi, was just wondering if you ladies have experienced constant yeast infections? I'm wondering because I have. 1648058 tn?1330927302 ive had on going vaginal infections for 5 months straight. ive been diagnosed with U.T.I. yeast infection, pelvic infection, and herpes. i have the herpes under control with medication i take twice a day. ive taken all medication for the other aliments.i now have pelvic pain yellow discharge and a bad smell. i havent been able to have sex with my husband in 5 months. i tried twice and suffered from terrible pain.
1648058 tn?1330927302 If You tend to eat things with lots of yeast or grease it could cause yeast infections. Last, do you wear colored panties? Thongs or something a bit more comfortable? If you wear thongs try mixing it with boy shorts, etc. You need to let yourself breathe and wearing thongs all the time keeps moisture in your vagina that can cause yeast infections. Also, the dye from your panties can also cause them, no matter how many times you put them in the wash.
Avatar f tn Antibiotics kill the good bacteria that help fight yeast infections so that is probably your problem. Try eating yogurt with live cultures everyday to see if that helps balance your body back out. There is also yogurt pills you can take if you do not like it. Yogurt has lactobacillus acidophillus that helps the good bacteria in your body that fights the infections. Best of luck to you.
Avatar f tn I need advice for chronic yeast infections. Last year in January, I developed burning, redness and pain during sex around the opening of my vagina.. I didn't know what it was so it was left untreated for like 9 months.. My doctor gave me a prescription for Yeast Infection pills and the pain went away. Then a month later, it came back, I got the pills again and it then too went away. Then 2 months after that.. I got it again. (Mind you.. all this time..
Avatar f tn I dont know about the sores but its possible that they r from irritation or small cuts from scratching. yeast infections itch like a sob. and yes if you have it chances r pretty darn good bf haa it too. men usually have no symtoms so its not out of the question. use ur cream or take all of the pills even if you feel better and eat lots of yogurt. if bf wont see a dr get him to eat yogurt the active cultures help get evwrything back in balance.
Avatar f tn I had that problem i had to stop using antibacterial soaps down stairs lol tmi and start using summers eve vaginal wash with ph balance and dont eat glazed donuts because they are full of yeast no soda because its full of junk everything you eat or drink has to pass through you and can cause infections if it has yeast or really sugary or acidy and also after sex make sure you go pee because just falling asleep or just cleaning yourself off dosent help it with throw off your ph balance
Avatar f tn It makes little sense that it could cause yeast infections unless it somehow upsets pH balance, which I highly am doubting.
Avatar n tn Your gf should NOT ******, that disrupts the balance of yeast and bacteria and can cause infections, try using hypo-allergenic soap as well as laundry detergent. Also, make sure she wears panties with a cotton crotch in them. Above all, see a doctor. And yes, it is possible for a male to get these infections. Believe me, if you had them, you would know. Oh, one last thing - I've noticed a connection between certain things I consume and yeast infections.
37251 tn?1236526586 With a UTI you'll have pain while urinating and oftentimes lower abdomen pain. Also, yeast infections don't generally have a smell. It sounds more like a bacterial infection. Which can happens when the bacterias in your vagina get off balanced. Check out this website it has a list of symptoms for all the different vaginal infections... http://women.webmd.
Avatar f tn Im 5 weeks and since ive been pregnant ive had 2 painful yeast infections and 1 uti.
Avatar f tn I have seen numerous local doctors (OB/GYN and Infectious Disease), yet I still suffer with chronic yeast infections. I have taken various oral/vaginal medications and supplements for yeast infections. I get a form of relief during my menstrual period but shortly after, the yeast will reappear. Several years ago, a doctors prescribed steroids (Predisone) to reduce nasal polyps and prescribed antibiotics for frequent sinus infections. In 2003, I had nasal surgery to remove the nasal polyps.
Avatar f tn Knowing the difference between normal discharge and infections The Healthy Vagina - The vagina serves as a passageway between the outside of the body and the inner reproductive organs. The pH balance of the vagina is acidic, which discourages infections from occurring. This acidic environment is created by normally-occurring bacteria. A healthy vagina produces secretions to cleanse and regulate itself, similar to how saliva cleanses and regulates the environment of the mouth.
Avatar m tn yes many women develop yeast infections while on antibiotics due to the fact that the antibiotics not only kill the bad bacteria but they kill the good bacteria as well, which then allows the ph balance to go out of balance. It is recommended in order to prevent yeast over growth from antibiotics to take a probiotic an hour or so after antibiotic to re-establish the good bacteria withing the urinary tract...this should prevent the yeast from taking strong hold in the area.
Avatar n tn No, worries hear.
