I only got this problem when I became bipolar. I look at what I have hoarded and I think My God look at the mess my mind is in. My psychiatrist and psychotherapist are aware of this problem, and I am on a medication for it to no avail. Other than the medication, we never seem able to really get down and address the issue.
I am considering practicing self-hypnosis to see if maybe I can change my thought pattern. Otherwise I am feeling pretty helpless and frustrated.
So I've decided that this relationship isn't worth it anymore. He may be the father of this child but he has done nothing to show he wants her except talk about her. My parents and I have bought basically everything and then some for her and he's maybe bought one outfit? He's not clean. He rarely does laundry for himself. Never cleans his place. There's animal feces all over the floor in one room. I feel like I'm on an episode of hoarding buried alive!
I've never experience my self or my family hoarding, but my mother in law is one. I've gotten to the point that I avoid goi g to her home due to all the filth. There's cat feces all over the place and I don't know how to tell her that our baby will not be going over there after she's born. I will not have our baby sick because of the filth. I wish I could help you but I can't even help my her. My husband tries to avoid it too.
Almost as bad as what you see on that show. Horing buried alive. She had a walk way from the front door to the bathroom and to the bed rooms. I helped her as much I could. But she had a mixture of trash (food waste and diapers) to new and old clothes. Couldn't tell what was clean or not. Dishes pilled high everywhere and a stove that was just caked on black burned food. Roaches flies, you name it mold in the fridge it was horrible.

why cant u start throwing these items and become a rolemodel for all hoarding sufferers than just discussing it again and again,just getting depressed about it will not give the solution,start doing than talking.
Does anyone else hoard food? It's odd- I often feel compelled to buy things (always sweets) or bring them with me to work, but I rarely eat them. Just thinking about the fact that I have the option to eat them during the day gives me a feeling of relief. I don't binge; I don't purge; I do watch what I eat, but I eat about 1700-1800 calories per day.
You don't say anything about his history, but hoarding is common in children who have been in foster care, have been in an institutionalized orphanage or have otherwise had a very unstable early childhood.

Was watching one of those sort of horridly-fascinating shows last night on TV that is about hoarders, except this one is about pet hoarders. They visited a couple's house who had 24 cats. The vet who was talking to the couple and she went into the room where the catboxes were, and commented on the smell, and she had handheld meter that she set down on the floor. It measured ammonia in the air.
Within 4 months I had gained around 60 pounds (went from 240 to 300) and the skin around the shaft of my penis began tightening over the head. A year later and now the head is buried inside the skin. I can no longer have sex or even urinate standing up. This condition has really taken a toll on me emotionally and physically. What can I do to correct this?
Hi, I noticed you answered a question for a woman who's son was born with a buried penis. My son got one right after circumcision at birth. He is now over a year old and still has a buried/trapped penis following circumcision. He was born lean and 2.5 weeks early at 7 lbs. There was no fat pad that we noticed at birth and his penis was normal when he was born - Gomco clamp was used. Immediately after the circ, it retracted like an innie belly button.
m 34 weeks and I wanna b thrilled about my little girl coming but it seems like every terrible thing that can happen has happened and keep happening. Last year I buried my grandmother, my grandfather, and my little brother. All within a few months time and as recent as christmas. Now my dad's cancer has come back for the 4th time after 3 years of fighting it...and it has metastasized. I don't even know if he will b alive for my daughter to be born.
Yes -- she needs to be evaluated by a professional -- for her obesity, food hoarding, and for her defiant behavior towards her grandmother. However, it is possible that the child is simply not being given adequate discipline -- either in her behavior or her eating habits. However, I think a professional should evaluate the situation and advise on the course of action.

There're only (2) options, as I see it:
1) Make peace with the fact that when it's your time, it's your time, and happily live your life until Mother-Nature comes knocking on your door (and subsequently buries you under 25ft of mud)
OR
2) Move

No pharmacy in my area has it in stock. Everyone seems to be hoarding in case they can no longer find it. I wish my physician would have given me 60 mg to leave room for adjustment. Now that I have the capsules, is it okay to split when it is not a solid pill form but a powdered form? Would 180 mg be the suggested lowering dosage and then get another blood test? What would you suggest for synthroid/cytomel dosage to start.
The Doctor was checking his height and weight and doing a check up, when she said he has a buried penis. We are both quite confused (and slightly amused!). Does she mean this as an actual medical condition? Or does she mean that it was simply buried when she saw it? If it is an actual medical condition, what can we do about it? What are the options? We no longer have sexual intercourse, but would like to if we had the opportunity.
