Was watching one of those sort of horridly-fascinating shows last night on TV that is about hoarders, except this one is about pet hoarders. They visited a couple's house who had 24 cats. The vet who was talking to the couple and she went into the room where the catboxes were, and commented on the smell, and she had handheld meter that she set down on the floor. It measured ammonia in the air.

So.... my husband's parents are hoarders and I've never been to their house but our daughter has. She's 3 years old. We have a little boy on the way and I just don't know if I want my kids going over there especially if I'm not allowed to.. Idk how bad the situation is and I know my husband is embarrassed. I've never talked to my in laws about it. They make me uncomfortable as is. I have been distant from them for the last couple months.

Anyone else ever watch the foodnetwork n get really hungry watching it or get cravings for what theyre making?

I will let my baby watch TV. I agree that tv is not a babysitter, but I don't see any harm in letting them watch a couple of cartoons. My nephew, Ashton will literally wake up in the middle of the night and SCREAM bawling his eyes out if the dvd stopped and the tv went blank. But if the tv stays on and he has something to watch, he'll be cool and collect. Plus babies just like noise and lights a lot, it keeps them entertained.

I'm not saying all tv is bad but I would be glad if my baby wasn't interested in it because there's so much drama, sex, inappropriate activity on tv that I definitely will be only letting my baby watch it as a treat not a daily thing. I surely don't remember the kids on Disney having boyfriend/girlfriends, makeup, hair extensions, etc when I was growing up. It's just too much influence for my taste.

Did anyone else watch Private Practice last night? i havent seen it in a long time cause it switched days and i didnt know so when i caught the season finally last night i was a crying mess! so sad! im a huge advocate for organ donation and i could never imagine doing that but at the same time she is so right about the unicorn baby... i know its only a TV show but its such a wake up call to those who have sick babies in need of organs...

I do this sometimes when my mood is low, but instead of watch TV I surf the internet while I stay in bed all day. It could be a sign of mild depression. To me it is a comfort zone, there is no stress, just relaxation, maybe too much relaxation.

Mike, what does cdu stand for? ( I know, it's probably very obvious but I'm having a moment.) Anyway, I used to watch intervention and the stories always tore me up. Some made me so sad and some made me so mad. I can't watch it now because I don't have TV yet (cable or a dish). I know that must've been a disturbing episode for you but like you said, use it for an incentive. I think our children are one of the best incentives for making us want to get clean.

Anyone obsessed with a TV show? I have been addicted to the show bones. My bf can't stand the show. He says it makes his stomach hurt cause they r detailed and show all the nasty stuff.....

Thanks for all the replies. Him and I don't watch TV much though, and we do play with her, but the TV is always on even when we are. I have a daughter myself, 6 1/2 months now, and I don't plan on letting her become like my step-daughter. I don't see why they would've let that happen in the first place, but I guess things happen. She lives most of the time with her mother, so she has the most influence on her life right now.

She has 26 animals 11 outside big unfriendly dogs that only she can interact with which is ok, 6 inside little dogs and 6 or7 inside cats now she lives in older 2 bedrroom 2 bath trailer which is fine but once you walk in door all you smell is cat pi$$ awful and her house is a plum mess something you would see on tv hoarders that bad. She loves her animals and takes care them but not house.

You can DEFINITELY tell which kids watch too much TV, and you can also tell which kids watch inappropriate programming. Every little boy with aggression problems is allowed to watch cartoons like spiderman and Disney movies. The little girls who are obsessed with princesses (training our girls to be damsels in distress) watch way too much Disney, and the little girls who have terrible attitudes watch the stuff on Disney channel and Nick stuff geared towards older kids.

You would think with the price we pay to watch television these days, there would be something on besides re-runs! I only pay for basic and that alone is almost 60 dolla a month! This is getting old! No new programs till September and I refuse to pay anymore to watch something. The thing that burns me is I am paying for all those channels, I never watch! I think we should be able to create our own packages, not everyone gets into mtv or syfi! What say you?

Oh Bobs the troubles you encounter on a daily basis.... The Office....hands down should be the show to watch.

I know lots of over weight people who are very pretty/handsome and have no trouble at all dating or turning a head.Seems tv is just over loaded with similar shows. Octo- moms on tonight, I am gonna watch that too, its kinda like those rag magazines to me all entertaining kinda like watching a cartoon, I would not take any of those shows seriously What do you all think?

Did anyone watch the premiere last night? I loved it! So much fun. And Paul Gross (Canadian) is so darn sexy in this role. It is worth watching just to see him recreate the Jack Nicholson role. Made me weak in the knees...

24 is one of the best programs to come on TV in a long time.
