I have no respect for any doctor that will stand up and call his peers quacks.!! He spent entirely too much time hating on Oprah when he could have been maybe trying to find a cure to help those of us who are in chronic pain daily. Or find out why cancer runs rampant, or why those of us who have Fibromyalgia suffer daily with a disease that can't be seen. Ok, rant over I promise.

Dr. Oz is on now and Oprah is talking about her thyroid and the Cleveland Clinic.

no petition needed. I starting looking into this last week. MAry Shomon had an article on "letters to Oprah" regarding thyroid disease. She is attempting to flood her emails with letters of people like us to get her to reconize the people miserable with it. Oprah is a sub clinical hypothyroid individual. She probably has the best doctors all over the world treating her b/c of who she is.

Anyone watching Oprah today? the subjet is postive thinking or something...anyway I just had my "AH HA" moment! She said you have to ask for it, visiluiaze it, and then let it go, and then it will come. If you are grasping to hard there is no room for what you want to really enter your life....... I don't know, it sounded really good when She said it!!! Oh, and Fridays topic is the children of Sperm Donors who are now looking for thier biological dad...

Was watching one of those sort of horridly-fascinating shows last night on TV that is about hoarders, except this one is about pet hoarders. They visited a couple's house who had 24 cats. The vet who was talking to the couple and she went into the room where the catboxes were, and commented on the smell, and she had handheld meter that she set down on the floor. It measured ammonia in the air.

I am ticked!!! Did anyone watch the Oprah show????? Her "Living Well" series started and guess what??????? HER THYROID ISSUES ARE "CURED" Oh BY JESUS - SHE IS HEALED AGAIN!!!!!!!! ( cough cough) What a bunch of bull!!! I truly have had it with HER.

So.... my husband's parents are hoarders and I've never been to their house but our daughter has. She's 3 years old. We have a little boy on the way and I just don't know if I want my kids going over there especially if I'm not allowed to.. Idk how bad the situation is and I know my husband is embarrassed. I've never talked to my in laws about it. They make me uncomfortable as is. I have been distant from them for the last couple months.

I heard on the radio that Oprah is now taking the weight loss med "Ali" and has supposedly lost over 30 lbs on it. She is reportedly doing commercials for them and is soon to be doing ads in print as their "official spokesperson". No admission of thyroid disorder. Who knows? But if she is at "ideal" level, why take her completely off med? Isn't that just going to make her go hypo again? Or do I not understand this disorder as well as I thought I did?

Did anyone catch the Oprah show today? It was aswesome. Montel Williams, Magic Johnson, Scott Hamilton and Fran Dreschler all spoke about the day they received their diagnosis-MS, cancer, HIV.....and how they fought. Very inspiring and uplifting. i'm gonna be on oprah. they are going to have me on the show via sattellite next thursday. i dont know when it will air. the subject is on child masterbation you guys. for those who are curious, you should watch. the show will be about talking to your kids about sex. i have written before about child masterbation in this forum i think. i had a big problem with it. i wrote to oprah in december and got a call from the producer today about being on the show.

I admire Oprah on many levels, she came from so little, over-achieved and is a pretty good humanitarian.

She has 26 animals 11 outside big unfriendly dogs that only she can interact with which is ok, 6 inside little dogs and 6 or7 inside cats now she lives in older 2 bedrroom 2 bath trailer which is fine but once you walk in door all you smell is cat pi$$ awful and her house is a plum mess something you would see on tv hoarders that bad. She loves her animals and takes care them but not house.

I hardly have words for the sadness and disgust I felt when watching just a portion of that show. I simply couldn't make it through it. Every woman in the audience looked horrified and most were crying. I saw Oprah hold up a 'manual' that can be downloaded on line on how to introduce your infant to this kind of abuse so that they get used to it ... I suppose that's why. The pages and pages of ideas and steps and tips ... I nearly threw the remote against the wall.

) Our local SPCA did not have anything at the moment. We want a female that is on the younger side (since we just lost one) and that is good with teeny kids and other dogs.

So what's your best guess on what the first dog will be ? Poodle.....Golden retriever....big dog.....little dog....? My hopes are that they get a mutt from the pound. With all the foreclosures, millions of dogs & cats have lost their homes.

I got a bit disillusioned with Dr Oz during the Oprah episodes. He was telling her and the public that her thyroid issues were "cured" and took her off med because her levels were "normal" -- my levels are "normal" now too but if I come off my med, they won't be for long........... However, this might be something I should look into...........I'll try to pick it up next time I go to the book store.

Hi, I've seen on the forums a few times the mention of that movie "The Secret" can anyone tell me is that movie related to the book that Oprah talks about? Can anyone tell me how to get it? I went to Block Busters and to a little place in my neighbor hood and to the local Library and they didnt have it at any of those places. I appreciate any info any one can give me.

Did anyone here catch Montel Williams on Oprah ? Apparently he talked about what it is really like to have an invisible disease and how difficult it can be. But he and other guests also spoke of what valuable lessons they have learned as a result of their diagnosis. Anyway.. here's the link below if you are interested. I was happy to see Montel Williams come forward and speak for everyone who struggles with a chronic illness... especially when we "look good".

Mojogal, I thought the same thing when she announced she had chronic Lyme. Selfishly, I was thinking "yay! Maybe people will start taking this diagnosis more seriously." However, since then I have discovered that Oprah was diagnosed with Hashimoto's many years ago and diagnosis and treatment for it is just as bad as chronic Lyme still today. If Oprah can't make headway... God help us all:( One can still hope, though. Hope your doing better lately. Thinking of you!
