I know exactly how you feel. The only rooms that aren't messy at my place are the bathrooms & the babys room lol! I work full time & when i get home I'm like why bother?.. Hopefully i get a day or two cleaning spurt & get it done!
Was watching one of those sort of horridly-fascinating shows last night on TV that is about hoarders, except this one is about pet hoarders. They visited a couple's house who had 24 cats. The vet who was talking to the couple and she went into the room where the catboxes were, and commented on the smell, and she had handheld meter that she set down on the floor. It measured ammonia in the air.
So.... my husband's parents are hoarders and I've never been to their house but our daughter has. She's 3 years old. We have a little boy on the way and I just don't know if I want my kids going over there especially if I'm not allowed to.. Idk how bad the situation is and I know my husband is embarrassed. I've never talked to my in laws about it. They make me uncomfortable as is. I have been distant from them for the last couple months.

I would like to suggest that one of your listing titles be "Geriatric". I just joined the site and that's what I was looking for to pose a question about elderly people and certain medications. For example...Geriatric Depression..Not everything is related to Alzheimers. Just a thought as I really hesitated when I looked for a broad subject. The last time around I got a simple electro-cardiogram done within 30 minutes of the episode which was normal. Does it mean early sign of heart problem? Is there an established connection between heart rythm and gas?

But seriously, I would have to say that the answer to your question depends on whether or not there is any evidence of mood cycling before this.
Your family member might want to read up about cyclothymia and hypomania which are milder forms of mood cycling. If you have access to a library I like the book "Why Am I Still Depressed?
Generally for any diagnosis it usually lists several criteria and which number of them have to be met to meet the listing for it but you could ask your psychiatrist more about that. I don't believe the amout of days spent in a hospital alone would change a diagnosis. It just might mean this time they believed more follow up was needed and they had more concerns this one time but you could ask them that as well.
But me I would just go to a family members and stay there for a bit. Hoarders have a weird attachment to their items.

Whoa... your mind is moving way faster than your liver disease is!
If you are staged as 3-4, you would be considered mildly cirrhotic, with low likelihood of needing a transplant anytime soon (unless you have other factors in addition to hep c contributing to rapid liver damage). Many people even in Stage 4 retain good liver function and normal quality of life for years. The new meds are expected to be available next year, and the success rates are very encouraging, even for relapsers.

maybe it was hormones or maybe seeing 6 copies of the same Mango catalogue on the shelves from each season or supermarket magazines listing special offers from 8 years ago would have gotten the same reaction even if my hormones were not effected by pregnancy! Or finding my own handbag I threw out years ago stuffed in between stuff....A handbag he must have dug from the garbage!!! Or his thorn shoes taking space in shoe cabinet while useful pair has no space......
