Hi, I stand corrected. Was watching one of those sort of horridly-fascinating shows last night on TV that is about hoarders, except this one is about pet hoarders. They visited a couple's house who had 24 cats. The vet who was talking to the couple and she went into the room where the catboxes were, and commented on the smell, and she had handheld meter that she set down on the floor. It measured ammonia in the air.
I know exactly how you feel. The only rooms that aren't messy at my place are the bathrooms & the babys room lol! I work full time & when i get home I'm like why bother?.. Hopefully i get a day or two cleaning spurt & get it done!
and will see what we can do. Yes it is sad. We also separated other cats. We are not cat hoarders, just to be clear. We are now just going to foster a mama cat and her kittens. She had them next door and then moved them to our yard. She seemed to be an indoor cat at one time (that will be another question separate). Anyway, we let them live in the basement. The kittens are starting to get used to coming around us a little. They are not older than 7 weeks probably.
So.... my husband's parents are hoarders and I've never been to their house but our daughter has. She's 3 years old. We have a little boy on the way and I just don't know if I want my kids going over there especially if I'm not allowed to.. Idk how bad the situation is and I know my husband is embarrassed. I've never talked to my in laws about it. They make me uncomfortable as is. I have been distant from them for the last couple months.
See if you can find some videos from the past on Animal Planet from a show called "My Cat From Hell". I watched an episode with a similar situation and the behaviorist found a solution to bring the two cats back together. If he could get cats who knew each other before who were acting like strangers, and were basically strangers to get along peacefully, his solutions may work for you.
I moved into his house after helping my mother out for a couple of years. His house looked like something out of a hoarders episode. The filth and clutter was so overwhelming that the first day I spent cleaning I ended up with Bronchitis and Pharyngitis from the damp and mold since he did not properly heat the house. After 2 months we finally made it inhabitible, but not clean by any means.
To this day the majority of my belongings reside in my mother's house.
I am 14 years old and i was diagnosed with asthma when i was little. I am not on any medication for it except for an albuterol inhalher. anyway, this morning when i woke up i had difficulty breathing and my nose was very stuffy (the house i'm staying in has 2 dogs and 2 cats.) so i went down stairs to get my back so i could get a change of clothes. as i was walking back up, i started getting a burning in my chest and stomach and felt very out of breath.

But seriously, I would have to say that the answer to your question depends on whether or not there is any evidence of mood cycling before this.
Your family member might want to read up about cyclothymia and hypomania which are milder forms of mood cycling. If you have access to a library I like the book "Why Am I Still Depressed?
To my knowledge, cats do not contract cmv. Have you tested for wet form FIP? We hope it's not that, of course, but at least you should know.
Has he been tested for more exotic internal parasites, that perhaps Drontal wouldn't touch? Just a thought. My other thought is perhaps a toxin of some kind, separate from any infection or illness, could cause those symtoms, especially if it is something that he is exposed to over time without anyone knowing.
My girlfriend and I live a large apartment and decided to pick up some cats for pets about a year ago today. But me I would just go to a family members and stay there for a bit. Hoarders have a weird attachment to their items.
Yes, mold can cause this and so also dust, mites, pets in the neighborhood like dogs and cats if you are allergic to them. If there is water seepage in the walls then mold is a possibility. It can also be there in air conditioners.

In the beginning she coexisted peacefully with my two other male cats, Tripp and Diesel. Until about 2 years ago, her occasional outbursts and anxiety were manageable. I believe that the moment everything changed was an episode she had of redirected fear aggression. I lived in an apartment and would allow all 3 of my cats out into the back yard when I was home. The sliding screen door would remain open so that they could easily just come back inside.
