I have been watching the A&E series on hoarders. Very scary. My guess she won't clean much if she is one. Basically swirl the same chit around into a different pile in a different corner....ya, know?.......If I were you...as horrible as this may sound...you would be doing her a favor turning her into the Humane Society. Normal people don't have 16 dogs and they don't die of disease and buried in their yard...Ya know. Parvo is a horrible disease for an animal to die of.

My house never smells like dig and litter box is scooped everyday, by my 11 yr old son for now. I have a neighbor who had cos called in her by a teacher cause her kid was dirty always. She works for 911 so got it squashed. Her of all ppl should know better!!

Hi, I stand corrected. Was watching one of those sort of horridly-fascinating shows last night on TV that is about hoarders, except this one is about pet hoarders. They visited a couple's house who had 24 cats. The vet who was talking to the couple and she went into the room where the catboxes were, and commented on the smell, and she had handheld meter that she set down on the floor. It measured ammonia in the air.

Before this pregnancy I used to keep a very very clean house. Like, show room model home clean. And literally I swear the day of conception the lazy a s s switch turned on because i can't think of anything less enticing than sweeping or picking up. Anyone else experienced this? I need to figure something out because I used to be so tidy and I'm only in my 1 trimester and if it keeps going in like this I'm gonna be on the next episode of hoarders!

But me I would just go to a family members and stay there for a bit. Hoarders have a weird attachment to their items.

Hoarding is a problem they have not you. It makes hoarders keep ppl at a distance. I wouldn't take it too personal. Most ppl in any problem still need ppl around that care.

Has anyone watched that new A&E series, Panic 911? It gets my blood racing!! It has been airing on Thursday evenings at 10 pm.

I never watched that one either. I watched snooky once with my daughter and she was doing a hand flip in a mini skirt. I looked at my da who watches faithfully and talk about hanging your head in shame. Yes, I did it for her! lol I saw a story about some old dried up thing in a long black wig, boob job, obviously had her lips done cause they took up half her face. Opened a bar somewhere and was the hottest thing around. I just cannot imagine!

i have had a weird sensation in my neck, my family doctor has checked my groin for enlargement. i am not sure if i have a concern around my penis yet my neck could have Enlarged lymph nodes there? i don't know. seeing a specialist & trying to remain calm. this sucks. worrying though only makes it worse. i was suisidal,police took me up A+E said i was under arrest an couldnt leave hospital just to go out for a cigy im disabled with my spine suffer with depression bad also ADHD so i go loud an kick of over little things because they wanted me to stay till my blood tests came back and to se a doctor but cos doctor couldnt get back to hospital to se me they wanted me to wait 4 hours but cos way i am an think about doctors an hospitals i realy was kicking of so they gave me 2 blue tablets to calm me

There are a lot of new people here and not sure how many of you watch the show on A&E Intervention. It helped me a lot in my early days of recovery and i still watch it the odd time, I am going to tonight. Sometimes it's hard to watch as reality sets in, but it helps me to see. Is it possible that subtype A/E from Thailand can have a longer window period than 3 month? Are there any studies which show this or the opposite?

Yes it can be. I know someone who has ocd and goes to a support group and they had a specific meeting about this. For ocd, besides medication and talk therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy can be very helpful as well especially for issues such as hoarding objects.

As for housework and chores, tackle a little each time. Tell yourself that you are going to load the dishwasher and then take a break and do something you enjoy. After you do that,unload the dishwasher and then take another break. Then put a load of clothes in the wash. Take it in small increments rather than looking at the big picture. Just work through it a little bit at a time. Also, I have found that action breeds motivation. Those little steps really do add up.

Holy cow of course this relationship doesn't feel good. That feeling is your inner voice telling you to leave--so listen! A hoarder experiences a great amount of anxiety when faced with the decision to throw something away. They are usually very sentimental persons, and like to keep everything to hold on the memory. Persons who are slobs are just plain lazy and can't be bothered to clean up or throw anything out. Although I think that a lot of hoarders are slobs in some ways as well.

So my mother in law (which I don't get along with) thought it was a good idea to take a whole week off work this week. I go in tonight n im glad she wants to help but I do not want her at my house with my first newborn child with us. I want to have family time. The baby isn't even goin to be a week old and she already wants to bombard us. Am I wrong for feeling like this?

m a 19 year old male! Just a little over a year ago I was working in construction 10 hours a day 5 days a week, about to start college and now I can't do anything! I just sleep and sit in my room on the computer or playing video games and even that makes me feel sweaty and sick! I'm angry, someone get angry with me! AGGGHH!!
