Avatar f tn I am 10 weeks pregnant and my heartburn is out of control. I try taking tums and rolaids but for some reason they make me very nauseous. Does anyone have any other remedies to get rid of heart burn? Any advice would be nice.
Avatar f tn a Tablesloon or two in 8oz of water...its amazing...
Avatar n tn I've tried so many remedies for heartburn (including Aciphex, Nexium, Zantac, Betaine HCL, baking soda, Pepto Bismol) that don't work. I'm curious if it isn't heartburn at all. Are there any other diseases/conditions that can cause extreme burning/gripping/tight sensations in that area? Thanks a lot in advance for any responses.
Avatar n tn I have had anxiety that seemed associated with heartburn too. I treated the heartburn with 1/2 tsp of baking soda in 1/2 glass warm water,(it will cause you to burp because it is neutralizing the acid) and the anxiety seemed to lessen.
Avatar n tn As for home remedies, try hawthorn berry tea when you're going through a bad bout with the palps. It helps me sometimes!
203342 tn?1328740807 I have heard that a spoonful of vinegar or eating an apple are both good natural heartburn remedies. I usually just drink a glass of milk and thet helps. Try them all out and see what works for you.
Avatar f tn Ladies how do you deal with heartburn...please advise...any home remedies! I am 2months preggo & first time mom to be.
1396846 tn?1332463110 //health.howstuffworks.com/wellness/natural-medicine/home-remedies/home-remedies-for-heartburn13.htm I used the Apple cider vinegar with a table spoon of honey and a cup of warm water, I also sprinkled some cinnamon in it. Not my favorite flavor but a bit better than pepto sometimes. You can try it before you head to urgent care, or before you get to the doctor. and run up a thousand dollar bill at the hospital.
Avatar f tn high or low acid so it is important to know which is the issue b4 you try different meds or home remedies.... Try to modify your diet and make sure your bowel is regular if need be take a stool softener as that will also help reduce reflux.
Avatar m tn 4 Tablespoons of Aloe Vera juice in a glass of water first thing in the morning is also a good remedy for heartburn/GERD. I take the apple cider vinegar also, but it doesn't stop my pain completely. I had been taking the ACV before my surgery - but didn't try Aloe or Nux Vomica until now that it seems my surgery has failed. Another natural remedy is DGL (licorice root) from the health food store. Chew two 400 mg tablets three times a day 20 minutes before meals.
Avatar f tn It usually works... this week no such luck. Is there any other home remedies that anyone has tried to get rid of it, or settle it down?
209987 tn?1451939065 Kinda figured it was a scam...turns out that if you buy a book on old fashioned home remedies that the answers are in that book too. So I looked some of the things up...for heartburn just drink apple cider vinegar or eat a certain variety of apple every day. Great! You pay them a fortune to read a passage out of a home remedy book...nice. I have tried selfhelp relaxation tapes, subliminal tapes, hypnosis tapes, etc. Every book that I have read thus far on anxiety says that same thing...
Avatar n tn I have tried several antacid remedies, vinegar, and baking soda but there is no relief. I have also tried one month of Losec without results. A general surgeon in my hometown has suggested having my gallbladder removed to see if that resolves the problem but I am reluctant to do so without some comfort that it will do some good. I take .
Avatar f tn Most of it concentrates around a high PH level along with this low acid. There are many home remedies - (along with needing to get your thyroid levels optimal) that can remove you off those PPI's I recently had a conversation with a doctor on this very subject. Balancing the body in acid PROduction is so important and those PPI's are not helping. They are only covering the root of the issue up.
Avatar n tn If you search Apple Cider vinegar all these sites will come up about what it can do for you, one is helps with acid reflux. I have gotten desperate and have put in home remedies for acid reflux to see if there is anything to try, if it is natural the worst that can happen is it won't work. Unless you have food allergies. Let me know if you find something.
Avatar f tn There are a lot of natural remedies that can help. Some are helped by organic apple cider vinegar with the mother still in it, which can rebalance your acid/alkaline state. So a lot of stuff out there to try to get to the bottom of this. Good luck.
5285867 tn?1365996892 It is really hard to digest especially white sugar. Best to avoid it. You use white vinegar to clean your home. Get a sprayer bottle fill have with water half with white vinegar. I put in about 15 drops of lavender oil and 15 drops of tea tree oil. That makes a wonderful sanitizer. Tea tree oil and lavender oil is a natural disinfectant. Vinegar is a really good cleaner.
Avatar n tn Home Remedies for Heartburn (Peptic Ulcer Disease): 1. Holy basil (tulsi): Consuming few leaves of tulsi (2-3) leaves anytime gives relief from acidity. 2. Drinking water in the early morning controls acidity, as water is a good neutralizer for acid. 3. Pranayama: Deep breathing the right way until body feels relaxed or for about ten minutes is a good home remedy. 4. Indian gooseberry (Amla): One table spoon Amla with one table spoon haritaki (chebulic myroblan) is best acid pacifier. 5.
Avatar f tn I am also very tired all the time, my legs hurt, I'm having mild cramping, heartburn, bloating, and sore breasts again. It's a complete 180 from the first pregnancy. I wouldn't worry about not being sick; consider it a blessing. My doctor said every pregnancy is different, and just because I have tons of symptoms this time doesn't make my last pregnancy any less significant. I also know that I didn't lose my first child because I had no morning sickness.
5882236 tn?1377621424 4 Tablespoons of Aloe Vera juice in a glass of water first thing in the morning. 1 Tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in 8 oz. of water - sip all day. Nux Vomica (at health food store) supposed to even cure ulcers. DGL (licorice root) from health food store - Two tablets 20 minutes before each meal. If this doesn't help, perhaps the RX for Dexilant will. Hope this information is helpful to you!!
Avatar n tn I had food poisoning years ago and ended up with heartburn and a lot of liquid in my stomach that would gurgle so loud that people could hear. (I could even jump up and down and you could hear it) I visited at least three competent doctors (I'm very particular) and none of them had a solution for me. I tried "regular brand" yogurts, pineapple enzyme pills and nothing happened. Prescription Pepcid beautifully cured my heartburn but did not get rid of the liquid.
Avatar f tn A few others want a support group to this horrible illness. I agree. I have many remedies that could help. Diet change, herbal teas, digestive enzymes, Marshmallow root, chamomile and slippery elm is what helped me with digestive enzymes. If any one is wanted to talk and start a group let me know.
Avatar f tn He tried several other meds with no success, but this seemed to work well enough that he could stop taking them when his throat was no longer injured, then we moved on to these natural remedies: 1) Take a broad spectrum digestive enzyme with each meal, every day. 2) Drink aloe vera juice to soothe and help heal your digestive tract. 3) When heartburn or reflux threatens, he takes 2 activated charcoal capsules. These soak up excess acid and gas really well.
Avatar m tn Does it have to be apple vinegar? I do not have this kind of vinegar at home. 5/ Do you have other tips/recommendations? Extra INFO: My mom suffers by heartburn a lot. When I was very young, I was slightly experiencing an asthma. A few weeks ago, during the breath tests, doctors found lactose intolerance and very slight fructose maloabsorption. Thank you. G.
Avatar f tn It's hard to remember not dealing with it, probably ~7yrs now. No alergies, asthma, or heartburn. Dr thought I might have LPR (type of reflux without heartburn) but, Nexium did not help. Others who have LPR report Nexium helps so, probably not a correct diagnosis. Mucus definitely comes from lungs/lung airway and not from stomach. Wheezing and cough are often present concurrently. Octavios offers very good insight into the diet aspect of controlling it.
Avatar n tn One doctor told me it was scabies, another told me it might be fleas, although they refused to actually look at the bugs to be sure of what they were. One doctor told me to go home, take a bath, and hire someone to clean my house. She reccomended a phsyciatrist and proceeded to ask me if I was on drugs. None of the above are true in my case. I have found that cold baths seem to either kill or paralyze them. I clean the floors with a rag and cold water regularly.
