My last rehab was at Albany Medical Center in Albany N.Y I was in for alcohol. It worked for booze. I later got a hydro habit for 8 years. Oxy from others during run out time. I used this forum and meetings this time. I dont know how to check quality of rehabs. I think the most important thing is HOW BAD YOU want it. We can't blame poor quality rehab or this that or the others did wrong song. Call N.A in your area and see if a person can come talk to you at home or get to a meeting.
t until my X wife ended up in rehab for pills. I had been sober in AA and CA for near 30 years. A couple years ago I started taking Percocet with a prescription. After a year or so I was taking much more than prescribed, I found a friend who had access to street ones. As I supported my X through detox and rehab I found I was not sober and addicted to Oxy's myself. By the grace of God Pills Anonymous brought a meeting to her rehab and she went one night.
I called a rehab center,left a message and hopefully they call me tommoroww. I want to get checked in asap. I told my parents, my dad is ready to kill me, my mom is much more supportive, its been that way with everything tho, no surprise there. At least i have some support, and ill get the treatment i need. I already wrote down a list of things i want to accomplish when i get out.
She finally admitted that she was hooked and needed help. We got her into a rehab center to hopefully get off them, so we can save our marriage. It is just as hard on me with her not being here becasue she is my best friend and we had our routine of drinking coffee and talking about anything that we want, and it was so depressing to wake up and not see my best friend laying next to me. I was wondering what it is like in rehab.
Does anyone have some suggestions on how to get someone into rehab without failure and total rebellion. And in a state where there are very limited facilities and a large waiting list. I believe she will self destruct if this is implemented without going the day of. I see this on television all the time with intervention shows, but that is not reality. There is also a component that involves the health issues which are more paramount. Someone mentioned speaking to the specialist.
My son is a heroin addict and has finally agreed to go to a rehab. He checked himself into WVU Hospital today only to be turned away because they have no beds and he has no money or insurance. Every rehab I have checked into wants money or insurance or they have no beds. We live in West Virginia but he is willing to go anywhere. He is desperate and really wants to change. Can anyone help with a rehab that does not charge anything and has beds available?
I did understand and I did read your whole post. There is a difference in outpatient aftercare (NA, PA, AA) and inpatient aftercare (rehab). Rehab is obviously more intense and safer and a great thing if you're falling apart. I went and it didn't haunt me through my personal health record. It is expensive....but can you really put a price on your life and family and well being and happiness? Insurance, many times, will cover it....opiates are sometimes not covered...
Just wondering if anyone on here is from Western PA and knows anything about good REs in the area?

my wife was admitted to allenwood rehab in pa. white deer facility . she went in 11 days ago . she contacted me twice last week . said she was going to call again two nights ago . still no call . i have called and left several messages with her counsler still no one including the superviser . will call me and let me know what is going on . we have a 19 month old baby and this is really stressing me out .
Has anyone on here been to or known anyone that has been to Haven House Rehab Center in Oxford, MS??? I will be going in a couple of days and just curious if anyone has an opinion on it.
Also, to all the women.... I haven't had a period since jan 19. The only other times I have skipped, I was pregnant but I have taken 2 tests and they were both negative. Can withdrawals from lortab cause you to miss a cycle for 2 months? Has anyone else experienced this as a side effect of detox and relapse?
I was in rehab for the first time in March. Was only there for 2 weeks because I found out I was pregnant about a week into treatment. They tested me when I got there but the results didn't come back until 7 days into treatment. I was already out of detox. So I chose to stay clean and not get back on anything. They wanted to put me back on methadone which is what they used to wean me off the oxy contin.
Watching Heidi Fleiss was really sad.. I saw her on celebrity rehab where she retreated to the desert with a bunch of parrots! It was so sad bc you could see how much pain she was in.
Dennis Rodman was like watching a train about to fly off the tracks.. He kinda had the "im not an addict" mentality even while in rehab!
I KNEW Kim Richards was on pills and stuff... You could just tell. She went to rehab and looks like she's doing GREAT now!!

After my husband was out of the inpatient rehab center he was sent to a HealthSouth Out Patient center. They were wonderful. They worked with my husband three days a week (speech, occupational and physical) and he has improved considerably. The outpatient therapy lasted about 2 months and now my husband is basically doing everything himself. Only thing I have to do is remind him to take his pills.
I called the SSA 800 number on the instruction form, and they are sending me a second form (hopefully soon,) but this form will go to the Jamaica office in New York, versus the usual processing center in Wilkes Barre, PA, where the first one was destined to go. I think this is the general way they do things when someone does not respond to the initial request.
Desperately need a DR that has other CRPS patients in Upstate NY or northern PA. Finger Lakes area also. RU or Strong sent me to pain Mgmt that said I have to live with it. I know it is not curable, but need a better quality of life. I am 75 yr old female. Got this after a total knee replacement. Then the ortho that did it dumped me. Pretended she didn't know anything about nerve pain. Yea, Right.

Thanks. The PA that I'm referring to is my hep PA at the liver center. I will definitely ask him and let him know that my final vaccine shot is scheduled next week at my GP's. They have been really good about communicating between the 2 offices but I've learned not to take it for granted. Thanks again.
