hi i'm a 28 yr old woman and have suffered badly with symptoms from graves disease for 3yrs i've been on propylthiouracil for a year now as i had a severe allergic reaction to carbimazole!
my symptoms include insomnia,severe fatigue,anxiety,bouts of depression,poor concentration,memory loss,bruising easily,dizziness,nausea and graves rage and weakened immune system (sick often). the problem is that i've recently had a blood test that read normal at 5.

Hello all , I have been feel very depressed lately. I let my doctor know and I was told that it was apart of having Graves Disease. I'm frightened because my depression is worsening and the stupid Paxil is not working. Has anyone else been really depressed?
I was diagnosed last year with either early stages of Graves Disease or thyroiditis - time will tell which one. Bloods have stabilised but recently having palpatations. Have started on aurorix due to a major depression and now experiencing racing pulse and tremor. Could the aurorix have caused this or is it just co-incidence that thyroid acting up again?
I was diagnosed with Graves disease 11 years ago. My endo prescribed Methimazole, which I was allergic to, so he told me he didn't want to prescribe me anything else because sometimes the allergy kills the thyroid. It apparently did, because all of a sudden I was hypo and I had to go on synthroid. Since then, I lost my health insurance and got handled by my PCP instead of the endo (cheaper).
based on your labs, you don't appear to have graves disease. graves disease is when your tsh is low and your ft3 and/or ft4 are high. however, you may have hashimotos (slow destruction of thyroid that leads to overt hypothyroidism).
ask the docs to run all the antibodies. that'll give you the info you need.
Graves is an autoimmune disease and unfortunately for life. Controlling whether they raise or suppress is key to beating the symptoms of the disease.
If you are on Levo now - your labs must be abnormal and now lean towards hypoT levels. You would feel like cr@p right now with the swinging patterns you have been on.
"Once Graves.... always Graves" is the saying here. But I am positive your endo or ???
The crackling noise you note is quite common with those of us who have thyroid conditions. There's usually no need to remove the thyroid, unless there's a problem more serious than the multiple nodules, since nodules are also very common with those of us with thyroid conditions.
It would be helpful if you could tell us whether or not you've been tested for Hashimoto's or Graves Disease, which are autoimmune thyroid conditions - both of which, eventually destroy the thyroid.
I have been going to an Endocrinologist for almost 1 year. He has done several ultrasounds showing that I have 5 tumors on my thyroid. I have a biopsy which showed they were benign. I recently had another ultrasound which showed one of the tumors had shrunk but another one appeared.
While Graves Disease is always associated with hyperthyroidism, not all hyperthyroidism is Graves Disease, because Hashimoto's, which is most often associated with hypothyroidism, is often characterized by periods of hyperthyroidism in the early stages and can even swing back and forth between hyper, hypo and normal.
Have you been tested for thyroid antibodies to make sure you do, in fact, have Graves disease and are not simply in a hyper phase of Hashimoto's? Both Graves and Hashimoto's are autoimmune.
While Graves is always connected with hyperthyroidism, Hashimoto's is most often connected with hypothyroidism, however it's not uncommon for one to have periods of hyperthyroidism in the beginning stages.
You should ask for thyroid antibody tests.

While I would have to do some checking around on this can you post the reason for the removal? - Is it for Graves disease?
Has your doctor told you, you have Graves Disease? Yes, your TSH is extremely low and your FT4 is extremely high, indicating that you are hyper, but your antibody tests indicate Hashimoto's. TSI is the definitive test for Graves Disease and I don't see that listed.
Have you been put on antithyroid med?
