The medical community seems to be happy with treating the symptoms and not looking for the causes - big pharma would lose money if many causes for disease were found. The leading thyroid association voice for Dr's is almost invisibly owned by the makers of Synthroid (hypo T4 med). So were srcewed from the start.
I would totally agree that one would not want to delay treatment with Graves Disease. I don't have it, but I've read the horror stories; I'd much rather deal with the hypo/Hashi's.
While natural treatments are all the rage and work in some cases, for some people, there are those instances in which you can't take chances. Being hyper, with Graves is one of those times.
Something we did not expect was him having Aortic Stenosis. Graves Disease causes numerous symptoms so we thought it was the disease causing his heart problems. He just took the treatment for the Graves so it's going to be a month or so before the treatment starts to show some results. He has another test scheduled next week with an Interventional Cardiologist.
I've read alot of material on Graves Disease and Aortic Stenosis, but I have not found any material on having both diseases.
Graves Disease cannot be cured...sorry to say you have it for life.
As for the natural 'way', I have never come across anyone who has succeeded in 'controlling ' Graves with natural therapies alone.
If you do have Graves Disease and Hyperthyroidism, you are at high risk of thyroid storm (atrial fibraillation) if not on anti-thyroid medications which can result in a massive heart attack or even death.
I am not trying to scare you in anyway...
My doctor won't diagnose me with graves disease but when reading message boards, people say anything over 2% is graves. If I have this, how can I cure it naturally? I can't take medication.

I also have graves disease dxd Dec 2007. Like you, my graves disease began right around the time that I wanted to start a family & I had all the same symptoms as you. Fortunately the PTU is working for me. I have decided to have surgery, but I am waiting until January for other reasons. My Endo says that you can get pregnant sooner after surgery, vs RAI you have to wait 6-12 mos before TTC.

s an autoimmune disease that unfortunately always plagues you in one shape or another even after the radiated iodine treatment. Since thyroid disease runs in my family, and I have borderline hyperthyroid tendencies, I always keep an eye on the thyroid board on MedHelp. The folks there are very knowledgeable. You may want to pop in there for some advice as well. Both diseases (FM and Graves symptoms overlap) Make sure you stop back in both places. Take care.

Has your doctor told you, you have Graves Disease? Yes, your TSH is extremely low and your FT4 is extremely high, indicating that you are hyper, but your antibody tests indicate Hashimoto's. TSI is the definitive test for Graves Disease and I don't see that listed.
Have you been put on antithyroid med?

I am a 25 y/o female diagnosed with hyperthyroidism at 16 and later with Graves Disease and Goiter. I have been on Tapazol along with Atenelol (for the Tachacardia) off and on for the past 9 years with no results. Every doc I see wants to discuss nothing but RAI or surgery. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for a few years with no success. I finally found out that I was pregnant the beginning of last year and made it to 4 months and suffered a miscarriage for no apparent reason.
