glucose

961466 tn?1247550382 I would be asking your Dr for the glucagon kit so that you can rectify your wife's lows when she is not able to. Using glucose tablets, even glucose syrup plus calling an ambulance when you need to is important. Its one thing to think you're okay or try to ignore the problems but you are obviously worried. I don't mean to appear rude but does your wife deal okay with actually having diabetes?
1355431 tn?1369975306 Another tip when your out away from your fridge and your in a pinch, is to buy gatorade G2. Per serving it only has about 20 calories without artificial sweeteners but going straight from soda to G2 will rough.

Avatar m tn The worry is that if her blood glucose levels are not as high as usual and you give her insulin without her having food in her to counter the insulins effect, she could succumb to hypoglycemia (low blood glucose level). forcing a little bit of canned food can help with her blood sugar levels (smearing a little on her paws where she will lick it off or onto the roof of her mouth) as can giving a little corn syrup orally. A visit to the vet is urgently needed however.
Avatar f tn t feed him before the lab draws his blood) and then having the person drink a sugary syrup that normally should cause glucose levels to rise. They test again a few hours after he drinks this to see how his body reacted. This will show hypoglycemia IF his hypoglycemia is caused when the body is over-stimulated to produce insulin. Some hypoglycemic people test as normal with this test, though.
8727253 tn?1400194561 I'm having my glucose test tomorrow ! And I'm nervous I know you have to drink something then wait then they take blood . But is the drink nasty ?
1829282 tn?1325591658 Glucose is the only fuel normally used by brain cells. Because neurons cannot store glucose, they depend on the bloodstream to deliver a constant supply. This blood sugar is obtained from carbohydrates: the starches and sugars you eat in the form of grains and legumes, fruits and vegetables. The only animal foods containing a significant amount of carbohydrates are dairy products.
Avatar f tn Yeah Exactly like she said about the orange soda but between the consistency of water and syrup and about the same sweetness of syrup. It's awful!

Avatar f tn Im 21 weeks pregnant. The last couple days my urine has had a maple syrup smell to it. I had a waffle with some maple syrup on it yesterday morning, but this is the first time, even when eating the waffles earlier in this pregnancy, that this has happened. Any one else experience this and if so what happened?
Avatar f tn It's kind of like a melted freezie pop. It's a sugary syrup but not quite as thick as table syrup. My advice is take small sips and wait 5-10 seconds between sips. They give you 5 minutes to drink it, which is a lot of time. Even doing the small sips I finished in about 2.5-3 minutes. My friend chugged it and then after 20 minutes she barfed and had to do it again.

1276890 tn?1271027818 I am finally fully aware of the side effects and dangers involving sucralose, aspertame, and high fructose corn syrup consumption. I grocery shop at walmart and I honestly have read dozens of ingredients lists of cereals and snacks and I cannot find a single product (maybe I have missed it) that does not contain any of these three horrible ingredients.
Tbd This means that it is rapidly metabolized resulting in a rapid increase in blood glucose. This in turn leads to the rapid release of insulin which performs the role of "escorting" the glucose into your cells in order to produce ATP. Simply stated, ATP is what fuels our bodies. However, an individual with type 2 diabetes mellitus does not produce sufficient insulin or is not capable of utilizing endogenous insulin in order to facilitate the transport of glucose into the cells.
