Avatar f tn Also the high f4uctose corn syrup, very bad for baby so if u drink it..... just a tiny bit.
Avatar f tn It's like syrup, but it tastes like orange soda, I never got to pick my flavor so I drank orange, I hate soda but that's how it tasted. It was very good, but they make you drink it fast so it makes your tummy sore, you can't walk, or drink that much water they say it messes with your test.
1855970 tn?1325823613 My hands, they smell like maple syrup! I know it sounds insane, but they literally smell like maple syrup. At work today, a coworker asked if I had pancakes for lunch... I havent had pancakes in like 2 weeks. I havent eaten any syrup in 2 weeks or more, and I havent touched anything like that. What in the world is going on with me???
Avatar f tn -( they need to see how your body reacts towards high levels of glucose and some foods and drinks can effect the results so id check with your doctor or midwife xx
Avatar n tn The only restriction he is under is that he must drink diet soda or Crystal Light (no regular drinks with sugar -- except juice when he is low), and must use sugar-free pancake syrup. I don't particularly pay attention to high glycemic foods. I just try to make sure each meal is generally healthy, with a balance of carbs, proteins and veggies or fruit. Obviously, he's not a long-time diabetic, but his A1C numbers have been good and he is otherwise in excellent health.
Avatar f tn The orange one tastes like cough syrup it was NASSSTTY lol
8727253 tn?1400194561 I'm having my glucose test tomorrow ! And I'm nervous I know you have to drink something then wait then they take blood . But is the drink nasty ?
Avatar n tn What is this glucose test I keep hearing about? I'm 25wk and I've not done it.
Avatar f tn t feed him before the lab draws his blood) and then having the person drink a sugary syrup that normally should cause glucose levels to rise. They test again a few hours after he drinks this to see how his body reacted. This will show hypoglycemia IF his hypoglycemia is caused when the body is over-stimulated to produce insulin. Some hypoglycemic people test as normal with this test, though.
Avatar f tn Yeah Exactly like she said about the orange soda but between the consistency of water and syrup and about the same sweetness of syrup. It's awful!
315737 tn?1407298997 These changes are also thought to be markers for aging. The scientists say that it is the fructose molecule in the sucrose, not the glucose, that plays the larger part.20 Because it is metabolized by the liver, fructose does not cause the pancreas to release insulin the way it normally does. Fructose converts to fat more than any other sugar. This may be one of the reasons Americans continue to get fatter. Fructose raises serum triglycerides significantly.
Avatar f tn s full of gmo corn syrup, FLAME RETARDANT and more high corn fructose corn syrup and other poisonous ingredients. Please check out food babe.com or Google food babe. It's sad that these "health professionals/fda" approve this sh*@ and give it pregnant women! I'm not taking it this time!
Avatar n tn s what I did and the gave me some syrup type of stuff it was based on glucose I think.
Avatar f tn And did you have any after affects of the sweet syrup nasty crap?? Like I feel nauseated, and burping a LOT and occasionally I get really really hot and feel like I'll pass out... Has anyone experienced this at all?? I also just found out that I have chlamydia o.o my ob has prescribed me a one time dose of medication that I'll be picking up and taking tomorrow.
Avatar f tn Im 21 weeks pregnant. The last couple days my urine has had a maple syrup smell to it. I had a waffle with some maple syrup on it yesterday morning, but this is the first time, even when eating the waffles earlier in this pregnancy, that this has happened. Any one else experience this and if so what happened?
Avatar f tn It's kind of like a melted freezie pop. It's a sugary syrup but not quite as thick as table syrup. My advice is take small sips and wait 5-10 seconds between sips. They give you 5 minutes to drink it, which is a lot of time. Even doing the small sips I finished in about 2.5-3 minutes. My friend chugged it and then after 20 minutes she barfed and had to do it again.
6832940 tn?1389242354 Thanks :) I'm trying just wish these drs didn't leave us with so many ?
Avatar m tn It helps, if you ingest some pure glucose (available as dextrose or glucodin, or glucose syrup) along with the food high in fructose. This won't help with foods high in sorbitol though. Glucose helps in absorption of fructose. And, crystalfresh, its important to remember that fructose, sorbitol and wheat can all irritate you. Some are tolerant to wheat others are not, so you have to find this out. Also: Fructose malabsorption is NOT an allergy.
Tbd Yes, sodas contain high-fructose corn syrup which is a simple sugar. This means that it is rapidly metabolized resulting in a rapid increase in blood glucose. This in turn leads to the rapid release of insulin which performs the role of "escorting" the glucose into your cells in order to produce ATP. Simply stated, ATP is what fuels our bodies.
Avatar f tn tomorrow morning I go for my 1 hour glucose test! Can anyone tell me what I'm going to have to do? I'm aware you drink a syrup kind of drink.. Do they give you a blood test or do you pee in a cup? I have a fear of needles, granted I'm ok with it because it's for my twins! I just want to know before I go so their is no surprises!
Avatar f tn I was really worried about throwing up so make sure not to eat cereal or oatmeal or anything with syrup:)
Avatar m tn You're at a point where you can reverse your glucose and bring it back to normal. Then and only then should you consume any "goodies", but do so in moderation otherwise you're putting diabetes back into the drivers seat. Rice crackers are OK. Quite boring but OK. Man made stuff are prepared/processed foods - frozen, packaged, canned meals. Read the ingredient label prior to purchase. Many foods/drinks list carb sugars in grams.
Avatar f tn Diet coke is never ok. There are proven cases it causes cancer. There are soda drinks that contain cane sugar. Ones that don't have high fructose corn syrup or sugar substitutes. That being said, I'm personally guilty of eating all kinds of bad foods. Foods with high fructose corn syrup, food dyes, caffeine, msg, ect.
1773108 tn?1314158067 It's good to see that you care about your boyfriends well being. What he needs to understand is that popping pills - being supplements or drugs - will not cure diabetes alone. Education is a key; he needs to get educated on diabetes control and management by going to the American Diabetes Association [ADA] web site. Click the links at the top of this page - Health Tools, Health Information for additional educational material so he can start to get his health back in order.
