Common Questions and Answers about Glucose powder in usa

glucose

Avatar m tn Although, I was not too sure I thought its a common itching that has taken place and I used to apply talcum powder/medicated gel/even mustard oil to get relief. But when the skin condition worsened I had a visit to a Skin Specialist and he mentioned some fungal and Bacterial infection. Both side of skin was irritated very much and wounded. I went through a set of medicines/creams and as of today, it is better (60-70% better).
Avatar n tn The measurements listed were in USA mg/dl. I was told that my range needed to be 90-110. The glucose tablets were a nurse practitioner's suggestion. I only take one if it is absolutely necessary, like when I go below 70, but for the most part, I just try to eat something. She also told me that she doesn't want me to eliminate all carbs, due to the fact that I could lose weight. I will request the HbgA1c test on my next visit.
Avatar m tn Sorry, that was 6.2 mmol/L which is 125 in USA units.
Avatar f tn Clarification is needed; If the glucose test range posted was measured from drawn blood it doesn't appear you posted the correct levels. What country do you reside in? I ask because "the normal range and she said 0.0 - 24 and mine was a 27.8." is weird. Normal fasting levels in the USA is 60/70 - 99 mg/dl and Europe 3.7 - 5.5 mmol/l. If measured from urine please correct and state country of residence.
Avatar f tn You are correct in that statement about it saying made in Canada. It leaves us here in a tough situation. For example, something can be made in China, but if a component of it (doesn't necessarily have to be the majority of it), or the packing (think Cereal) was made here, they can label it Made In Canada. Pretty wrong isn't it. It makes me so mad. There is legislation out there to enforce more accurate labeling, but so far our Congress hasn't done a darn thing about it.
334090 tn?1203804738 i was just wondering, if there is anyone on this site that is canadien that can refer me to sites from canada that offer a sign up where they can send you cuopons and samples by mail and such, free baby 'stuff'? i already signed up to the similac and goodstart and got two cans of powder milk! so i was wondering if there are other sites that people know about that i can get more offers like this for the coming baby?
920032 tn?1550680156 Your posted numbers imply readings measured in mmol/L. This standard is used in Europe not in the USA. When posting test numbers it's important to let us know which standard you are using. Makes a huge difference. Did your home test meter come with a User Guide? Most do which explains how to correctly use the meter. If not you can always Google the make and model number as most manufacturers post "How To" guides online.
Avatar n tn When you say, "I know that normal blood insulin levels should be 1-5 fasting", from what country? In the USA, normal blood insulin levels is 5-20 mcU/mL while fasting. Blood sugar (glucose) on the other hand is measure differently. Normally, the blood glucose level is maintained between about 4 and 8 mmol/L (70 to 150 mg/dL). The total amount of glucose in the circulating blood is therefore about 3.3 to 7g (assuming an ordinary adult blood volume of 5 liters).
1090423 tn?1286287650 Try drinking two glasses of milk a day. Quinine sulfate capsules used to be available for hand cramping, but in the USA the FDA recently disapproved that use. There are various tests. A glucose fasting test is appropriate, as well as a test called the hba1c.
194838 tn?1303428544 Yes, there is a difference in the numbers. In The USA test results are presented in mg/dl [milligrams per deciliter]. In the UK test results are presented in mmol/l [millimoles per litre]. Here is a link to a blood sugar mg/dl to/from mmol/l converter http://www.childrenwithdiabetes.com/converter.htm Here is an A1c chart referencing mg/dl vs mmol/l http://www.rajeun.net/HbA1c_glucose.html Here are the fasting glucose ranges Normal 70-99 mg/dl or 3.888-5.
Avatar n tn is no longer considered normal in this day and age, that is, in western medicine here in the USA. Normal glucose range is 60-99 mg/dl. But when you fall below 70 doctors get worried about hypoglycemia. From 100 to 125 mg/dl it's considered prediabetes. At 126 mg/dl and above preprandial (fasting glucose) you would be considered Diabetic Type II. Since you didn't provide us with your preprandial level or an A1c (HbA1c, HGBA1c) results its hard to say where you stand.
Avatar m tn I should be speak with my pharmacist and try Benadryl. The inchiness does not happens always. MyBlood Glucose in the morning before eat is: 122 - 128 mg/dL. I should take a second opinion and go for blood tests analysis! Thanks a lot!
Avatar n tn What can I do to lower these numbers naturally? My glucose was 83. Am I getting close to Diabetes Adult Type II? This discussion is related to <a href='/posts/show/722103'>How do i lower my hemoglobin A1c?</a>.
Avatar m tn t think i have found a post that said HIV was rare in the USA. What I have found in previous posts was the doctors saying that hiv was rare in heterosexual women, rare in sex workers in America, or she probably don't have HIV or something like that. What im wondering is this, in that website that ww2008 sent me it says there are around 1,000,000 to 1,200,000 people living with hiv/aids in the US.
Avatar m tn where can I get tested? Is allowed to visitors get tested in USA? which Identification document could be required? How much could it be? is 55 days after exposure time enough for getting tested?
Avatar m tn I believe that "normal" glucose levels varies to some degreee between indviduals, probably due to genetic factors. However there is a "reference" for Pre-meal plasma glucose in non-diabetics that ranges between 82-110. Your fasting blood sugar of 115 is a little high, however it lies within the range of "normal" fasting blood glucose levels. What strikes me is that you feel drained shortly after eating(the drop from 129 to 89 within one hour) .
Avatar m tn I looked at your Diabetes Tracker Stats, saw your UK input in mmol/l instead of mg/dl (USA). Your daily average level of 10 mmo/l is dangerously high and maximum of 14 mmol/l is suicidal. Sadly to say your blood glucose levels are out of control. Testing once a day, in your case, will not provide you with adequate data to learn what is causing your blood glucose to elevate.
Business man1 If you do not recall or do not have the results you can ask your doctor for lab copies. If residing in the USA it is your patient right to have copies of all your lab results. By seeing your test results we can determine where you stand. If no testing performed you need to contact your doctor and inquire why he/she feels your are "having diabetes". And, to clarify "having diabetes" you are classified as either normal, prediabetic, or diabetic [type 1, type 2, or type 1.5].
Avatar f tn Hello Sara try PEG 3350 powder - your local chemist may be able to find for you - we have it here in Ontario- if you're from Maryland you should have it available... Our daughter was diagnosed with Crohn's at 12 (January 2008) and she's still not in remission and has gotten worse, so we're looking at perhaps Cimzia or Remicade or Humira... She has severe constipation as well - and this stuff is the only one that has helped with bowel movements...
Avatar n tn Bitter melon (Momordica charantia) is an alternative therapy that has primarily been used for lowering blood glucose levels in patients with diabetes mellitus. Components of bitter melon extract appear to have structural similarities to animal insulin. Antiviral and antineoplastic activities have also been reported in vitro. Four clinical trials found bitter melon juice, fruit, and dried powder to have a moderate hypoglycemic effect.
Avatar n tn You try banaba leaves. Some are sold in powder form, just dissolve one table spoon in a hot water by using a cup of coffee and when it becomes cooler just drink it before bedtime and see the result.
Avatar n tn In general, though, any physical activity will help lower and/or control blood glucose in diabetics, and physical activity might show low blood sugar readings in immediate post-activity testing for any person who is not diabetic... In terms of "diagnosing" diabetes, that really is best done with fasting blood glucose levels. (Generally in the morning after not consuming anything except small amounts of water for at least 8 hours).
