If your two-hour glucose tolerance is 140 mg/dL (7.77 mmol/L) to 199 mg/dL (11.05 mmol/L), you may have prediabetes.
What level suggests type 1 or type 2 diabetes?

What is a fasting blood sugar test?

You can purchase your own home glucose test meter from your local pharmacist or ask your doctor for one or where to obtain one.
Testing times and ranges are:
● Fasting: First thing in morning before eating or drinking any colored liquids. Plain water is OK.

I had a full blood check up last week and my glucose levels came back as high for a morning reading at 9.2. I had some more tests today including a fasting test and a hba something or other. My question is soe this now mean i have diabetes. I am very much a night person regularly up til 4 in the morning and eating and drinking before i go to bed. I am white, not over weight and have no family history.
This is important to know as the two most common glucose test results are identified as mg/dl [American] and mmol/l [European] and differ in meaning from each other. As such, we cannot tell if the glucose level of 16 was prandial [before a meal] or postprandia] [after a meal] so I'll present both sides as prandial.
Glucose of 16 mg/dl: This is dangerously low as it could put your husband into coma.

Glucose intolerance is when the body does not utilise the glucose in your body properly and the fasting blood glucose level is above 6.0 mmol/L or your blood glucose level is over 7.8 mmol/L 2 hours after consuming 75g of glucose.
At this stage, with life style changes and exercises, you can still avoid getting diabetes. You could say it is pre diabetes.

I'm attempting to see an endocrinologist to get this checked out, could this relate to the UARS?
Blood glucose typically varies from 4 mmol/L (72 mg/dl) to 6 mmol/L (108 mg/dl) for people without diabetes.
Be guided by your feelings and if you experience these symptoms which indicate a low sugar level, then have something to eat. You do not need to have sugar, just a complex carbohydrate, even a piece of apple, brown bread, some salad like carrot.
Your numbers indicated glucose out of control and you need to pay attention to what your doctor says to you. Go back and consult with your doctor so you can understand what you need to do in order to control and manage your glucose levels before they get way of hand. If you Google "diabetes complications", I guarantee you will not like what you read.
Your home meter [test kit] could also be whacked giving you inaccurate test results.
