I have been struggling with many health issues over the past two years. First I developed an autoimmune disease called Sjogrens. Then I developed asthma and multiple chemical sensitivity. Now I have multiple food allergies. I've spent countless hours and money at various doctors who basically say I just have to live with these conditions and treat the symptoms as they come. Meanwhile, my health continues to decline.
ginger and glucosamine sulfate will affect coumadin (warfarin) I'm on warfarin and can't take ginger or glucosamine and a host of other supplements.
I also have leaky gut from all the motrin so am trying to go Gluten Free - digestion is better now. I have always eaten healthy but have gained weight due to lack of exercise for past few years - hoping to fix that soon, already feeling better moving around, used to have pain just walking around the house sometimes.

Supplements to a dog's diet such as Glucosamine and Chondroitin Sulfate, Omega Fatty Acids, Vitamin E, Selenium, and MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) all assist in decreasing inflammation and improving the body's ability to repair and strengthen tissues. Supplements, however, will not reverse structural changes in a joint such as torn cartilage, calcium deposits and advanced scar tissue.
I am always seeing this stuff about leaky gut and/or gluten causing hashimotos. I am kind of sick of it because it is saying they have a solution but no doctors ever mention it and gluten sensitivity is not a test they do when you have hashis.
This question is for goolara and gimel. Do you believe hashis is caused by gluten or leakygut. Even if the patient has super high tpo antibodes?
However, Italian researchers have found that the LD50 (the lethal dose at which half of the animals die) of glucosamine sulfate is 8000 mg/kg. In humans this would be equivalent to ingesting over 500,000 mg at one time or 1,000 pills each containing 500 mg.
I hope this is useful... I got the idea from the site that max safe dose is 1500mg, and your dog had twice that much. You may want to see the vet anyway, even tho it says in the previous paragraph that a lethal dose is 8000mg.

Pt. II -- Other ideas are chondrointon and glucosamine sulfate, which help some, don't help others. Some also find help by avoiding foods in the nightshade family. Lots of research to do.
I just did an intestianl permeability test for Leaky Gut Syndrome. It came back as a severe case. I am going to work with a clinical nutrionist, but I also want to see a gastroeterologist. Does anyone know anything more about testing for this and treatment? I'd like to combine the nutrion with western medicne, but don't know if they even recognize it as anything. Any info would help.
i've been adhering to a gluten free diet now since May of this year, so that's a period of about four or five months, taking into account the learning curve. i've made some mistakes along the way, but have stayed true to the diet most of this time. the worst of my symptoms have improved or resolved since then, including mouth sores, back pain, joint pain, bloating, abdominal pain, fevers, fatigue, depression, irritability. you get it.
At any rate, there are so many remedies for joint inflammation -- MSM, chondroiton and glucosamine sulfate, proteolytic enzymes such as bromelain, quercitin, vitamin C, ginger, turmeric, boswellia, devil's claw, yucca -- I mean, the list is very long. Perhaps the best thing is to buy a good book on natural treatment of this problem since there are so many combinations of options to choose from.
Other options include omega 3, and glucosamine/chondroitin sulfate. Studies indicate that both seem to act as natural anti-inflammatories. Finally, I have had success sending patients for acupuncture to aid in their pain relief and recovery from orthopedic problems.
One guy wrote that collagen cured him in the comments section of a PATM video on YouTube. It makes sense because we likely all have leaky gut and collagen helps to plug the "leaks". Bone broth is recommended for leaky gut because of its collagen content, but collagen powder would give a more concentrated dose of the same thing.
