My dog weighed 28-30lbs and the correct dose for her was 500mg Glucosamine per day. The vet said the 'human' Glucosamine was fine to use, so long as the dosage was correct for the dog's weight. So it depends what your dog's weight is, how much you can increase the dose. As far as I can make out, dogs (and humans too) respond differently to Glucosamine. With some there are great results, and with some, not much improvement. You could mention this to your vet perhaps.

That is unfortunate. If you don't think you are getting adequate care I would suggest switching hepatologists. If your liver disease gets worse you will need to rely more and more on your hepatologist. If you don't feel they are giving you the answers you need . Then should your cirrhosis continue to progress it will be more of a nightmare than it already is. I have had to have my hepatologist explain to me options that were a matter of life and death more than once.

Well I work in the medical field and interacted with another vet (Patient) who said to stop giving him the pain pills they would ruin the dogs liver.I had asked out vet about baby aspirin, he stated no it was not good for dogs.Now I am getting this information from another vet who said baby aspirin is harmless and would not hurt Lazy.My question is who do I believe?

I would also put her on a glucosamine and chondroitin supplement. Even if she is only mildly arthritic this will help her. It works by rebuilding the cartilage that is eaten away by arthritis. It works pretty quickly, too. You might see some results as soon as two weeks after beginning treatment and usually by the time you are 30 days into treatment you will see a significant difference in her behavior with regard to showing signs of pain.
