I went to human vitamin store and got her some glucosamine supplements. I got the liquid flavored glucosamine and the glucosamine soft flavored chew. I know some cannot swallow pills. My dog eats the chews if I slightly warm them. She will not touch the liquid. I would rather put a pill in some meat or something. It is much easier for her to take. I put her back on a food with glucosamine and she isnt having any problems. I learned my lesson about changing foods.

I just recently started taking glucosamine and Chondroitin to help my knee recover from a dislocated patella. but for some reason my contact lenses have become very dry is that a side effect of the glucosamine??. I have used this type of soft contacts for a long time but never experienced this problem. Thanks.
My dog weighed 28-30lbs and the correct dose for her was 500mg Glucosamine per day. The vet said the 'human' Glucosamine was fine to use, so long as the dosage was correct for the dog's weight.
So it depends what your dog's weight is, how much you can increase the dose.
As far as I can make out, dogs (and humans too) respond differently to Glucosamine. With some there are great results, and with some, not much improvement.
You could mention this to your vet perhaps.
so, I do not have any signs so far and I took a home HIV test kit (LabPro… with Diluent Liquid stuff) and I was negative but I assume that two weeks after the exposure is to early. So could you please advise what is the earliest that I could undertake another test and if these tests are reliable??? And what is the level of risk that I have with this exposure.
My dog is 12 year old and has arthrits and the vet told me to use glucosamine. In the summer time he does not need it. Now my dog is whimpering and shakeing, when I pet him he stops. This started a couple of days ago. The weather got really cold fast and I just started him back on glucosamine. Does this sound like the arthrits acting up or do I need to worry? I checked UBAvet, did you give their liquid glucosamine to your dog? I tried Synflex for him but he got severe diarrhea, might be due to the numerous other ingredients in the formula.
Go to your local heath store or drug store such as CVS or Walgreens and get a Glucosamine / Chondroitin combination suppliment. It comes in capsule form, tablet, and liquid form. You decide which will be easier to administer to Sassy. This suppliment can not hurt her it can only help her. It is safe to give to her everyday and she should get it everyday at her age. Your Vet will have some that is much more expensive than that in the stores but it is more potent.

My suppliers, supplier is no longer doing it and tomorrow is the day i run out. I am scared, worried, but excited to get on with my life once this wd is over. In the 2 years Ive been taking 20 a day, sometimes a few more and the only reason i take anymore is to feel normal. They get me up a little bit in the morning, that is all. I'm mostly worried about the wife and son, and work. Im thinking of claiming I have food poisoning or something so I can be left alone or cared for a few days.

Hi,does anyone know what dose of glucosamine & chondroitin i should give my 7yr old border collie,he is getting very stiff in his hind leg when getting up(old injury when he was 1yr old) but once he gets going he is still as fit & active as ever.
She is about 47 lbs and is having hip discomfort......I want to buy a glucosamine supplement to see if help but some of them that I am seeing have a lot side effects....Do you have any suggestions for one that has less side effects?
