I went to human vitamin store and got her some glucosamine supplements. I got the liquid flavored glucosamine and the glucosamine soft flavored chew. I know some cannot swallow pills. My dog eats the chews if I slightly warm them. She will not touch the liquid. I would rather put a pill in some meat or something. It is much easier for her to take. I put her back on a food with glucosamine and she isnt having any problems. I learned my lesson about changing foods.

5 pound schnauzer and has been limping a bit after exercise. I have started giving her 500 mg of glucosamine a day and wanted to know if this is the right dosage?
the problem is none of it is good science, evidence based medicine and almost all articles are from websites or companies that sell glucosamine.
I was called in for a pill count which went bad and my Dr discharged me. I was doubling my dose because it wasn't helping. So what am I suppose to do now. Been seeing this Dr for almost a year.
I checked UBAvet, did you give their liquid glucosamine to your dog? I tried Synflex for him but he got severe diarrhea, might be due to the numerous other ingredients in the formula.
Go to your local heath store or drug store such as CVS or Walgreens and get a Glucosamine / Chondroitin combination suppliment. It comes in capsule form, tablet, and liquid form. You decide which will be easier to administer to Sassy. This suppliment can not hurt her it can only help her. It is safe to give to her everyday and she should get it everyday at her age. Your Vet will have some that is much more expensive than that in the stores but it is more potent.
hi have a 14 yr patterdale/lakeland her joints are stiff and shaky i have been giving her adult glucosamine sulphate for a few months now but doesnt seem to be getting any better or worse should i increase the dose
The weather got really cold fast and I just started him back on glucosamine. Does this sound like the arthrits acting up or do I need to worry? How much glucosamine can I give him? I hate when my dog is in pain, I have had him since I was in kindergarden.
I just had my normal diet, nothing extra but I was told to :) it didn't affect my pregnancy, I had a normal vaginal birth and I have a healthy 4 week old boy :)
ive been giving my dog which is 17kg 1000mg of glucosamine every day for a week which i will now reduce to 500mg a day is there any thing else i should give him with this or is glucosamine alone ok my dog has early signs of arthritis in his back legs its a bit of an effort for him to get up now he is 10 yrs 3mths old and had cruciate ligament surgery back in may last yr and in the other leg about 5 to 6 yrs ago
You did give me a laugh. Two or three actually. I can't take cranberry. I'm allergic to them. Didn't use to be. Always had cranberry juice in my refrigerator, then one day, I made my famous cranberry salad and wallah. Broke out in hives and my face swelled up. My lab mix, almost 12 years old was diagnosed as diabetic a little over a year ago. She has done really well with the insulin shots but in the past few weeks, she seemed to have a lot of pain in one of her back legs, she also had a droopy eye, but has cataracts and is almost completely blind. The vet couldn't find anything broken, but gave her a pain pill. She seemed to do a little better, but the past few days has slipped again. She whimpers in pain when she has to pull herself up to stand.

ginger and glucosamine sulfate will affect coumadin (warfarin) I'm on warfarin and can't take ginger or glucosamine and a host of other supplements.
