Glucosamine hcl toxicity

Common Questions and Answers about Glucosamine hcl toxicity

glucosamine

Avatar f tn He may not have the enzymes to utilize the Glucosamine like he did before the gastric tube. Glucosamine Hcl is cheaper and it is harder for the body to utilize than the higher quality Glucosamine sulfate. With that being said, Glucosamine sulfate is commonly use in people who have GI problems because it helps to protect the mucus membranes and heal injuried tissue. It is a very important supplement in IBS, Chrones disease, ulcers etc., I feel really bad for you and your dad.
Avatar m tn 1.prevents fat accumulation and protects cell membrane integrity. 2. provides efficient mitochondrial energy system. 3. detoxifies acyl groups and ROS. 4.restores elctron balance for greater energy supply. 5. increases nucleic acid synthesis and mtDNA copy number for repair of mitochondria. this SUPERIOR mechanism is UNIQUE only to GODEX which makes it INCOMPARABLE to other brands.
Avatar f tn Firstly you could start him on Glucosamine and Chondroitin supplement. It really does help. You hear that the dog has to have taken it for a few weeks for there to be any noticeable change, but I have found it can take effect quicker than that. To give you an idea of dosage, my dog weighs 28lbs and I give her 500mg Glucosamine, and 200mg Chondroitin daily. If his weight is twice hers, or approximately, you can give double that dose.
Avatar m tn My doctor came into the room, tested me for CT, and aftering determining I didn't have carpal tunnel told me I had RSI, wrote a presciption for Diclofenac and left. It took him all of five minutes and I didn't even get to finish telling him what was wrong. My finger joints are stiff sometimes, from typing and my wrist is tight/stiff. When I flex, I can feel a numb pain (not numbness as in can't feel) move along the back of my hand, in the pattern of my veins.
Avatar m tn 5 pound schnauzer and has been limping a bit after exercise. I have started giving her 500 mg of glucosamine a day and wanted to know if this is the right dosage?
161647 tn?1280608163 The only thing I can think of was that my mom started taking Glucosamine last year. Can the Glucosamine affect eye vision. Or does anyone have any suggestions. My mom is worried that there is something seriously wrong because the doctor said the next step is too see a retina specialist. Thanks for any advise.
Avatar m tn KArla may be right. My neighbor's dog had neurological issues with the Advantix. I know it's a Holiday, but you may try to contact your Vet, the local ER vet or the Vet poison control hot line. It is always best to space out the meds. There is an oral flea preventative out now you can ask about. In the past, I've used topical Advantage on my dogs and cats with no side effects. Myou can also try Pythrin dips. Hope all turns out ok.
1093971 tn?1257833640 Not all glucosamine products are created equal. In order to best evaluate a product, you need to consider several things. When your healthcare and joint discomfort is at stake, take a moment and consider these criteria: What form is the glucosamine in? What is the total daily dose? Are there any other ingredients? What type is the glucosamine? How pure are the ingredients? If you’re considering taking glucosamine with chondroitin you have another ballgame.
Avatar f tn I just recently started taking glucosamine and Chondroitin to help my knee recover from a dislocated patella. but for some reason my contact lenses have become very dry is that a side effect of the glucosamine??. I have used this type of soft contacts for a long time but never experienced this problem. Thanks.
Avatar m tn Not sure where to start, so I'll give some background info first. I'm 53, 6' 3'' tall, 255 lbs. I've been taking Primatene tablets (Ephedrine HCl 12.5mg per tab) for mild Asthma since it was first released on the market approx 20? yrs. ago. I've been a heavy coffee drinker (15 - 25? cups a day) for longer than that. About 4 years ago, I started drinking diet pepsi and all but gave up coffee.
Avatar m tn My dog weighed 28-30lbs and the correct dose for her was 500mg Glucosamine per day. The vet said the 'human' Glucosamine was fine to use, so long as the dosage was correct for the dog's weight. So it depends what your dog's weight is, how much you can increase the dose. As far as I can make out, dogs (and humans too) respond differently to Glucosamine. With some there are great results, and with some, not much improvement. You could mention this to your vet perhaps.
Avatar f tn My dog is 12 year old and has arthrits and the vet told me to use glucosamine. In the summer time he does not need it. Now my dog is whimpering and shakeing, when I pet him he stops. This started a couple of days ago. The weather got really cold fast and I just started him back on glucosamine. Does this sound like the arthrits acting up or do I need to worry? How much glucosamine can I give him? I hate when my dog is in pain, I have had him since I was in kindergarden.
Avatar n tn I have always fed them a really good food with the added glucosamine. I just recently changed foods to one without glucosamine. My lab started limping really bad. I went to human vitamin store and got her some glucosamine supplements. I got the liquid flavored glucosamine and the glucosamine soft flavored chew. I know some cannot swallow pills. My dog eats the chews if I slightly warm them. She will not touch the liquid. I would rather put a pill in some meat or something.

675347 tn?1365460645 Please does anyone know the dosage of Glucosamine Sulphate for dogs? How many milligrams per pound body weight? Also, is it ok to give my dog the regular Glucosamine (which people take) as it is so much cheaper to buy that at the supermarket, than to get it from the vet, or to buy dog treats which contain it! Thanks for any help or suggestions, anyone. Ginger.
Avatar f tn Heightened stress, when your ability to produce cortisol is likely already compromised due to your CAH ( impaired cortisol synthesis is common in CAH), is one of the possible causes of low HCL levels, which can easily explain abnominal pains, associated with undiagested or partially digested foods and constipation. Prolonged unaddressed hypochloria and constipation will result in increased toxicity, bactrerial, viral and parasitic infections and more.
Avatar m tn I take a throid pill every morning. Would glucosamine Chondrotin interfer with it?
Avatar f tn Hi,does anyone know what dose of glucosamine & chondroitin i should give my 7yr old border collie,he is getting very stiff in his hind leg when getting up(old injury when he was 1yr old) but once he gets going he is still as fit & active as ever.
1110049 tn?1409402144 Glucosamine is commonly taken in combination with chondroitin, a glycosaminoglycan derived from articular cartilage. Use of complementary therapies, including glucosamine, is common in patients with osteoarthritis, and may allow for reduced doses of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents.
689367 tn?1227469139 I have also been told that glucosamine (Joint supplements) is not good for your eyes and could elevate pressure. How true is that?
441382 tn?1452810569 I had the same question a while back, in the Spring. Misty had been showing a bit of possible arthritis in her right hind leg which was broken once. I asked the vet about this because I didn't want to pay premium prices for a "pet brand" Glucosamine, and he said Glucosamine is exactly the same substance, whether it's formulated in a preparation for dogs, or people. And Chondroitin is the same. I believe they are both natural substances obtained from shellfish.
1434665 tn?1289855538 Last weekend went to detox for Oxycodone HcL 60 mg (not extended release) a day for 2 years. (doctor prescribed). Never on street drugs or had a problem with any other prescription med. Could not quit this on my own, and it started to make me sick. Detox went well. However, first two days I felt sluggish. Then tried one/half dose of suboxone per doctor, and that was a nightmare.

Avatar n tn I just bought Osteo Bi-Flex with 5-Loxin advanced (Glucosamine, Chrondroitin, MSM, AKBA complex) at Walmart for my dogs. One dog weighs about 120lbs, and the other weighs about 65lbs. I need direction in knowing how many caplets to give to each of them daily. Very grateful.
