glucosamine

1093971 tn?1257833640 What form is the glucosamine in? What is the total daily dose? Are there any other ingredients? What type is the glucosamine? How pure are the ingredients? If you’re considering taking glucosamine with chondroitin you have another ballgame. Since you didn’t ask about the latter I’ll stick to glucosamine by itself. If you search the Internet you’ll see inconclusive evidence of glucosamine having negative effects on blood sugar.
Avatar f tn He may not have the enzymes to utilize the Glucosamine like he did before the gastric tube. Glucosamine Hcl is cheaper and it is harder for the body to utilize than the higher quality Glucosamine sulfate. With that being said, Glucosamine sulfate is commonly use in people who have GI problems because it helps to protect the mucus membranes and heal injuried tissue. It is a very important supplement in IBS, Chrones disease, ulcers etc., I feel really bad for you and your dad.
Avatar f tn The only thing I have been able to do to keep the inflamation down is applying a lotion that contains Glucosamine, MSM and Arnica made by NOW. It took a few weeks before I noticed a big difference. The reason being these ingredients take time to build up in your system and because they actually heal the areas to some degree it takes longer. I also have to watch my diet and stay clear of foods that I am allergic to that can cause inflamation.
Avatar f tn In the grand scheme of things, there's a lot worse you could have taken. A little background...Tylenol PM contains two ingredients...Acetaminophen and Diphenhydramine HCl. Diphenhydramine HCl is better known as Benadryl. It's an antihistamine that produces some sedation like effects. Now, when I went through rehab, we couldn't go near any "mind altering" substances, including Benadryl. Will you get addicted to it? Probably not.
Avatar f tn m pretty sure I wont be able to take this anymore but I was wondering if you could tell me what ingredients in it make it unsafe to take while pregnant?
Avatar f tn I have a older dog and use glucosamine and chondroitin supplements. There are many brands on the market that are "soft chews" for dogs and they all have diffrent quantities of active ingredients in them. The brand I favor has 4 different levels so you can put your pup on a higher dose to get them started and then lower it to a matainence dose once your pup is doing better. It will take some time but you should see some progress in 30-60 days.
Avatar n tn I have taken Glucosamine and chondroitin for joint pain and things seem to have improved overnight
398377 tn?1201534325 Some of them, yes. Glucosamine, chondroitin and MSM found with the "people" meds are fine for dogs. Just make sure to check with your vet on dosages. There are also senior dog foods that contain varying amounts of these ingredients you may want to try as well. You could also check with Dr. Cheng on the Pet Health board here at Med Help for dosages. Does your dog have osteoarthritis or something more serious like hip dysplasia?
Avatar n tn Our dogs love UBAvet and maybe are used to it. The glucosamine is liquid and it helped, especially the Akita. Other ingredients might have made your dog sick and they NEVER explain what the side-effects of all the incredients can be. Medicam can be difficult on the stomach so dogs have to eat before they take it. There are dog foods available that are easy to digest and you probably know that homemade chicken and rice are digestable easily for dogs. We've used it on ours.
Avatar m tn If it was me and the area of the surgery was healed I would use Arnica cream or a lotion that contains Glucosamine (from shell fish), MSM and Arnica. These ingredients can both help to heal and lessen the pain. A company that makes this lotion is NOW and is available in the US. Are you on any pain meds or any kind of meds right now? If you are you will need to know that these ingredients can either lessen or increase their effects.
Avatar f tn Apart from home-made ingredients like almond oil - honey massage around the eyes and tea-bags, you can drink plenty of fluids and get adequate rest. The Preparation H version with phenylephrine HCl 0.25% will constrict the capillaries resulting in the temporary reduction of the appearance of dark circles. ref:http://en.wikipedia.
Avatar m tn 5 pound schnauzer and has been limping a bit after exercise. I have started giving her 500 mg of glucosamine a day and wanted to know if this is the right dosage?
161647 tn?1280608163 The only thing I can think of was that my mom started taking Glucosamine last year. Can the Glucosamine affect eye vision. Or does anyone have any suggestions. My mom is worried that there is something seriously wrong because the doctor said the next step is too see a retina specialist. Thanks for any advise.
Avatar f tn carbonated water, sucrose, glucose, sodium citrate, taurine, glucuronolactone, caffeine, inositol, niacin, D-pantothenol, pyridoxine HCL, vitamin B12, artificial flavours, colors. After water, the next 2 main ingredients are sugar. That is certainly not good for you. It won't hurt the baby, as long as you are eating well and this is additional. Then there is caffeine, a number of vitamins and other nutrients, and chemicals. The caffeine probably won't hurt the baby in small amounts.
Avatar n tn If it were me, I would avoid gluten, dairy, soy, and food chemicals. It's tough to learn almost everything has those ingredients but remove them anyway. Then after a couple weeks of eating organic foods, slowly add one of those mentioned above to see your body's reactions. Or try biofeedback to get faster answers. I would also buy Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar from the Mother, and ingest some prior to eating. You may just be low on HCL and can't digest properly.
Avatar f tn and substances said to help with the joints themselves, such as glucosamine and chondrointin sulfate and hyaluronic acid. Knox gelatin has been used for the joints, but it's because of the glucosamine and chondrointin in it and you'll get a lot more of it in supplement form than by eating gelatin. Good luck, and good researching.
1388999 tn?1370042814 that leg a bit in cold damp weather) So I started her straight away on the maximum dosage for her weight of both Glucosamine and Chondroitin (That is 500mg Glucosamine and 200mg Chondroitin for her weight which is 28lbs) I asked the vet could I use Human grade pills. He said yes the substances are exactly the same. The human ones are much cheaper than veterinary ones! So I bought a huge pack of the pills at reduced price for bulk buy.

Avatar f tn I just recently started taking glucosamine and Chondroitin to help my knee recover from a dislocated patella. but for some reason my contact lenses have become very dry is that a side effect of the glucosamine??. I have used this type of soft contacts for a long time but never experienced this problem. Thanks.
Avatar f tn She was telling me that her hubby has polio and both her daughters have rhumatic fever and they all got great relief from a product called Glucocosomine Rapid. Well, it worked wonders. One of the main ingredients is Capsicum, believe it or not. I absolutely swear by it for helping with the burning and aching in the legs and feet and it does not feel hot, like some creams do, only on very sensitive areas like the neck.
