Common Questions and Answers about Glucosamine hcl buy

glucosamine

Avatar f tn He may not have the enzymes to utilize the Glucosamine like he did before the gastric tube. Glucosamine Hcl is cheaper and it is harder for the body to utilize than the higher quality Glucosamine sulfate. With that being said, Glucosamine sulfate is commonly use in people who have GI problems because it helps to protect the mucus membranes and heal injuried tissue. It is a very important supplement in IBS, Chrones disease, ulcers etc., I feel really bad for you and your dad.
675347 tn?1365460645 Also, is it ok to give my dog the regular Glucosamine (which people take) as it is so much cheaper to buy that at the supermarket, than to get it from the vet, or to buy dog treats which contain it! Thanks for any help or suggestions, anyone. Ginger.
Avatar n tn I have always fed them a really good food with the added glucosamine. I just recently changed foods to one without glucosamine. My lab started limping really bad. I went to human vitamin store and got her some glucosamine supplements. I got the liquid flavored glucosamine and the glucosamine soft flavored chew. I know some cannot swallow pills. My dog eats the chews if I slightly warm them. She will not touch the liquid. I would rather put a pill in some meat or something.
Avatar f tn She is about 47 lbs and is having hip discomfort......I want to buy a glucosamine supplement to see if help but some of them that I am seeing have a lot side effects....Do you have any suggestions for one that has less side effects?

441382 tn?1452810569 s OK to use a glucosamine with chondroitin product that you can buy OTC from the grocery or health food store, what would the dosage be for a 50 pound dog? I posted this to the Expert Forum but when I went back to see if I had a response I couldn't even find my post! LOL So I decided to re-post it here where I know how to find it again so I can actually read the responses I get!
Avatar n tn I just bought Osteo Bi-Flex with 5-Loxin advanced (Glucosamine, Chrondroitin, MSM, AKBA complex) at Walmart for my dogs. One dog weighs about 120lbs, and the other weighs about 65lbs. I need direction in knowing how many caplets to give to each of them daily. Very grateful.
Avatar m tn In addition to making the tea, I also buy candied ginger. Sometimes I nibble on it and sometimes I chop it up and add it and the syrup to vanilla ice cream. You can also buy ginger in capsules.
Avatar f tn If you wish to try it make sure you are not allergic to shell fish (glucosamine) or MSM (from pine tree bark) or Arnica ( arnica montana flower). You can buy MSM and arnica lotions separately and there is a glucosamine product that is made from corn but it is expensive. I am also taking vitamins which seems to be helping too.
Avatar m tn 1.prevents fat accumulation and protects cell membrane integrity. 2. provides efficient mitochondrial energy system. 3. detoxifies acyl groups and ROS. 4.restores elctron balance for greater energy supply. 5. increases nucleic acid synthesis and mtDNA copy number for repair of mitochondria. this SUPERIOR mechanism is UNIQUE only to GODEX which makes it INCOMPARABLE to other brands.
Avatar n tn Ask him if he has a way of checking to see if your stomach does not produce enough hcl. He will probably have you buy some hcl capsules from him or from the healh food store and take it with meals. What you do is take 1 capsule with your meal. If you get no burning in your stomach, then the next meal you take 2 capsules. If you get no burning in your stomach, then with the next meal you take 3 capsules. And so on, until you get burning. Once you get burning, you cut back 1 capsule.
Avatar m tn The homecooked food sounds good. Maybe a slightly smaller portion each meal time? Is Gycoflex Glucosamine plus some extras? Is he on the maximum dose for his weight? Yes arthritis can be painful, but sometimes the pain can ease with gentle exercise little and often. But he will probably need some medical help for this. So get him to a vet.
Avatar n tn At any rate, there are so many remedies for joint inflammation -- MSM, chondroiton and glucosamine sulfate, proteolytic enzymes such as bromelain, quercitin, vitamin C, ginger, turmeric, boswellia, devil's claw, yucca -- I mean, the list is very long. Perhaps the best thing is to buy a good book on natural treatment of this problem since there are so many combinations of options to choose from.
Avatar m tn 5 pound schnauzer and has been limping a bit after exercise. I have started giving her 500 mg of glucosamine a day and wanted to know if this is the right dosage?
161647 tn?1280608163 The only thing I can think of was that my mom started taking Glucosamine last year. Can the Glucosamine affect eye vision. Or does anyone have any suggestions. My mom is worried that there is something seriously wrong because the doctor said the next step is too see a retina specialist. Thanks for any advise.
6669309 tn?1462648142 Arthritis is very common in older dogs and the longer dogs live the more common it is becoming. Nutritional supplements Glucosamine and Chondroitin Sulfate are two substances that have fast become the standard treatment in canine age-related arthritis. These are often sold as a single combined substance in good pet shops and quality supermarkets. Alternatively, just look up "Glucosamine and Chondroitin Sulfate for dogs" on Google and you should find a supplier.
1356964 tn?1302087435 that they seem to put in anything labelled for pet use. the human form is Glucosamine/Chrondroitin and cheaper to buy that way. Donna I'm doing some more indepth checking on this thru the holistic ppl I will get back to you so don't do any ordering until I do....continue with the cosequin.
1093971 tn?1257833640 Not all glucosamine products are created equal. In order to best evaluate a product, you need to consider several things. When your healthcare and joint discomfort is at stake, take a moment and consider these criteria: What form is the glucosamine in? What is the total daily dose? Are there any other ingredients? What type is the glucosamine? How pure are the ingredients? If you’re considering taking glucosamine with chondroitin you have another ballgame.
1360851 tn?1277581906 I wouldn't, it's a very hot herb. Best bet is to buy the caps standardized for circumin. And it's best to combine things, no one thing is that strong naturally.
Avatar n tn I would certainly give him a Glucosamine/Chondroitin supplement. I give my dog 500mg Glucosamine plus 200mg Chondroitin, and she weighs 28lbs. She had a broken legf years ago, and very occasionally got a twinge and a slight limp. Since starting the Glucosamine....within a few days!! she did not show any discomfort at all, and has not shown signs of twinges yet. Apparently it works better alongside vitamin C.
Avatar f tn I just recently started taking glucosamine and Chondroitin to help my knee recover from a dislocated patella. but for some reason my contact lenses have become very dry is that a side effect of the glucosamine??. I have used this type of soft contacts for a long time but never experienced this problem. Thanks.
Avatar m tn My dog weighed 28-30lbs and the correct dose for her was 500mg Glucosamine per day. The vet said the 'human' Glucosamine was fine to use, so long as the dosage was correct for the dog's weight. So it depends what your dog's weight is, how much you can increase the dose. As far as I can make out, dogs (and humans too) respond differently to Glucosamine. With some there are great results, and with some, not much improvement. You could mention this to your vet perhaps.
Avatar f tn Pure hcl, no other digestive enzymes added. (Buy Omega Zyme by Garden of Life if you want to take a digestive enzyme with no hcl in it with your meals too) Take 1 cap of hcl with each meal. If you feel no stomach burning, take 2 with the next meal, if you feel no stomach burning, take 3 with the next meal and so on until your stomach burns a little. Once it does, go back one pill.
Avatar f tn My dog is 12 year old and has arthrits and the vet told me to use glucosamine. In the summer time he does not need it. Now my dog is whimpering and shakeing, when I pet him he stops. This started a couple of days ago. The weather got really cold fast and I just started him back on glucosamine. Does this sound like the arthrits acting up or do I need to worry? How much glucosamine can I give him? I hate when my dog is in pain, I have had him since I was in kindergarden.
Avatar f tn I also buy the Pedigree dog food which has one where it has glucosamine in it for healthy joints. Ofcourse ask your vet if Glucosamine would be ok for your dog to take because I don't know if hip arthritis and hip dysplasia is the same thing. I hope and pray your baby gets better.
Avatar f tn I took glucosamine and chondroitin. I don't know if it made my knees less sore or if they just healed on their own. Carrying a baby around does add stress to the knees, since your weight and the baby's are on the knees. The other thing is, the more padded your shoes are, the more stress gets transferred up the leg to the knee instead of the foot. If you have recently purchased some cushy shoes so your feet feel good, try your older ones to see if your knees feel better.
