Common Questions and Answers about Glucophage ttc

glucophage

Avatar f tn Any feedback on this would be much appreciated. Ive been on glucophage and femara and ttc for 12 months with no luck. My period was due 4 days ago but instead I had a reddish/brown light discharge The day my period was due . This lasted a day or so and now have a very light creamish discharge for last 2 days. No sign of my period. I haven't done a test this month as I really don't want to be looking at another negative.
256553 tn?1258883918 I was on metformin when ttc 2000mg and NOT diagnosed with PCOS. It did upset my stomach, but I got used to it. After 4 years ttc, I now have a healthy 2 month old baby girl. I was on the metformin for about 3 months before becoming pg. I was also doing follistim injections and IUI;s. I don't know if it was the metformin that helped us in the long run or not, but I think anything is worth a try.

623922 tn?1223406991 My DH and I have been ttc for over 2 years. I have been diagnosed with mild PCOS and mild endometriosis. I've been through one unsuccessful fresh and frozen ivf cycle. Because I can't afford to go through another round of ivf right now my gyn prescribed 500mg of Metformin to help with ovulation. I know that I ovulate but she thinks the Metformin/Glucophage might help me. Has anyone been on Metformin that can tell me what to expect?
Avatar n tn why do my glucophage tablets give off a first smell and taste impression of being mouldy?
Avatar n tn Can GLUCOPHAGE or GLUCOPHAGE XR be used in children? GLUCOPHAGE has been shown to effectively lower glucose levels in children (ages 10 to 16 years) with type 2 diabetes. GLUCOPHAGE has not been studied in children younger than 10 years old. GLUCOPHAGE has not been studied in combination with other oral glucose-control medicines or insulin in children. If you have any questions about the use of GLUCOPHAGE in children, talk with your doctor or other healthcare provider.
Avatar f tn have to lose another 30lbs to be normal.diagnosed with pcos.have been takin glucophage, no refined carbs plus low fat and workout. have been trying desperately to get pregnant.i dont ovulate.period regular for 18 months now. my problem is unexpected bleeding after 20 days of period .my cycle is 30 days have been regular.this sort of a thing never happened before.im ruling out ovulation and implantation bleeding ,coz it cant be a regular heavy bleeding, the kind im having since this morning.
Avatar f tn t really regulated my periods yet. But i have lost about 36 pounds since May 5. Which is wonderful! I am TTC, so hopefully this will work!!! Good luck ladies!!!!
Avatar n tn scolded me for stopping the med, and insists that I continue to give him Glucophage. The Dr. says that the Glucophage will serve as an appetite suppresant as well as help control the blood sugars. Have you ever heard of other children being prescribed Glucophage in addition to other insulin? What are the facts on Glucophage and juveniles?
229439 tn?1245812437 My friend who took glucophage went on to have 3 very healthy babies. My other friend is still in the process of ttc. Good luck!!!!
Avatar f tn I need to find a PCOS specialist. I have always missed like one or two months of my period. I started taking Glucophage and Byetta. My cycle started to come down on a monthly basis. I got off of both these medications maybe 8 months ago and now I am back to the missed months again. I am also taking Maxide for my high blood pressure and I take it every single day, faithfully. In Januray my cycle was fine (usually lasts 4 days) and then in February, I started seeing lighter menstruation.
Avatar f tn Hi, I also have pcos i was diagnosed about 7 months ago, my husband and I have been ttc for almost 3 years. Are you on metformin? It regulates hormones and in some cases can help you get pregnant, it is not a fertility treatment so you should not have to wait a year. You should see a reproductive endocrinologist they can put you on metformin.
Avatar f tn I have hypothryoid disease ( all new to me ) and my doctor has perscribed glucophage to me to helped with irreglar menstral cycles.
Avatar f tn Hi! If diagnosed with high insulin, is it safe to medicate like taking glucophage? Is it harmful to the liver?

Avatar f tn I took birth-control pills so that I can have a normal period but then my Doctor prescribed me to take Glucophage 500 mg twice a day after food but it has side effects like dizziness, nausea, low blood pressure and diarrehea... I went to pharmacies and asked about the medicine ( Glocophage), they say its good but it is not making me feel good. The last pharmacy I went to suggested that I should take Glucophage XR. I still didnt take it, Im still using Glucophage.
179624 tn?1210096474 I am on my 5th month with clomid (started 2 mo. 50mg, 100 mg for 2 mo. and will go 1 more mo. with 150.) and am going for my cd 21 bloodwork on the 19th. I track with OPKs at home though, and according to them, I haven't Oed. My question is "What do you think that the next thing that we try should be?" I am wanting to talk to my doctor about taking another approach at getting me to O. I will never be able to get pregnant if I don't ovulate.
1500096 tn?1292945593 I used birth control pills for a year of which i had a regular cycle. I stopped using the pills after i got married and my cycle became very irregular. Since then, i've been unable to conceive. Any time my menstrual cycle becomes regular and i have sexual intercourse with my husband, menses ceases for months until i take some drugs that would be prescribed by the doctor.
419158 tn?1316571604 Ok heres the story~ My friend is 31 and has been TTC for about 7 years. Well the day before her big 3-0 she found out she was pregnant! I was so excited for her! I have always wanted to be pregnant with her and sit and talk about babies. Well I had had my 3rd son at this point but had started TTC again becuase it took so long the last time around. A week later I got my BFP!! Yay!! We are going to have babies a week apart! Well around week 10 she m/c.
1546050 tn?1293688410 She then decided that I must be insulin resistant and put me on Glucophage 1 in the evening without even doing any tests or telling me anything about an eating plan etc. I am now following a low GI eating plan I got on the internet. My question is - should I be on Glucophage if I was not properly tested for insulin resistance and if my sugar test came out within normal range?
Avatar n tn I started by monitering my diet and still I needed medication, so my doctor prescribed me with Glucophage XR 500mg, 2 pills a day taken at same time.
Avatar n tn She said that I still not a type 2 diabetic but just to be safe she told me to start taking glucophage once a day for 1 week and increase to 2x a day after that. Then I will repeat my tests in January. Should I start taking the meds as she prescribe. I am not overweight and no one in my family is diabetic.
Avatar f tn ... I think I'm taking a break from TTC. I know we've only tried for 3 months in a row, but there's so much going on. I think if I get a BFN this month I'm putting TTC on the back burner. We won't prevent, of course, but we won't deliberately try either. I'll probably take Evening Primrose Oil with my vitamins just to help things along but my conscious efforts will be focused elsewhere!
Avatar m tn my husband has recently started glucophage he is having abdominal pain and sweats and headaches and nervous spells throughout the day. He is not having huge spike in his blood sugars. Should his body adjust to the medicine?
182352 tn?1231183410 my OBGYN just prescribed prometrium for low progestrone, and metformin ( the generic form of glucophage), due to my body not processing sugar properly. the prometrium bottle says DO NOT TAKE WHILE PREGNANT. i have read up on this & it seems to be a very common & helpful drug to take during early pregnancy. has anyone taken both, or either 1 alone while pregnant? my 1st pregnancy was a breeze & i hate taking anything during pregnancy. thanks so much.
