glipizide hair loss

Hi, I recently went on glipizide after a very bad reaction to victoza. I was losing weight, but now the glipizide is keeping me at the same weight. Has anyone had the experience that is the same? and is there a lower does that anyone has still been able to lose weight with? and yes I'm on a low carb diet and excercise plan. I'm doing better with this than I did before and I lost 33 pounds. It's the glipizide.

is glipizide 10mg the same as glyburide 5mg / because my husband was drinking the gyburide and when we went for the new prescription it had changed to glipizide and he hasn't felt good since the change do i call his doctor

I also take 500mg metformin after a meal(breakfast and dinner) and was advised to take 5mg glipizide before meals (breakfast and lunch) but sometimes I measure my bs before and notice it's sometimes 70-90 . A little about me: I don't eat at regular intervals, I don't snack , I have 3 meals a day . Wake up at 530 go to work, eat breakfast at 9 and then my lunch around 12 , dinner between 5-630. I take Metformin Extended Release 1000 mg two times a day and Glipizide 10mg two times a day. Still the numbers are almost same at 170 and sometimes crossing 200. I do moderate exercise. Any suggestions?

I have Type II Diabetes, which went untreated for about 3 years, so Ive gained about 45lbs over that time period. I take both Metformin and Glipizide for the diabetes. Here is my problem. With all my meds I have zero appetite and eat maybe once/twice a day and small meals at that. With my PTSD I am unable to go outside the home for excercise without having panic attacks followed by seizures.

changed my diet to limit carbs and loss weight. I now walk everyday. A1C is now in the normal range for 3 yrs now. It went from 6.7 to 5.3 where it has stayed for 3 yrs. I did loss 100 lbs. tho and have keep it off for 3 yrs as well.

I also take glipizide. The gulmetza does not seem to be working for me. My sugars are in the 200 + - range. Is there another generation 1 or 2 diabetes medicine that I can take with the glipizide that will work as good as the actos did and not cost so much? I would like to get off the glumetza. I am really thinking about asking the doctor to put me back on insulin (novolin R). Thank you for your input.

Recently my 19 month old grandson got a hold of his dad's glipizide and chewed up 1- 1 1/2 tablets, they got most of the second one out of his mouth. took him to the hospital where they immediately ran serum glucose levels, which came out to 47. this was within 45 min. of the ingestion. they started a glucose drip and fed him graham crackers and gator aide and monitored him overnight. My question is .....

Than typically she has spikes around noon. Up to 200. I am trying to get her on a schedule with meds. Glipizide 10mg in am, langus shot at noon starting at 10 units and retesting in 2 hours and giving her 10 mor if she is over 140 and metformin1000 mg 2x a day am and pm. Any advice would be appreciated!

I have elevated liver enzymes due to hepatic adenoma. Currently taking glipizide for high blood sugar, but is causing side effects. Weight gain, extreme low blood sugar, restless sleep. What can I take instead that will not affect the liver?

am now taking glipizide 5 mg along with colestipol 1gr twice daily and gabapentin 300mg 3 times daily and my blood sugar levels are staying high. First time on all these meds and my sugar levels were fine on lisonpril. Could one of thse being causing the high readings. My diet is the same if not lower in sugar and calories.

Got out of bed one morning and decided to get some blue superman pills. Found out had diabetes put on Glipizide. Developed high level of anxiety that doc attributed to suger spikes and rx'd Celexa. All right with the world and everywhere else. Follow up blood tests showed raised liver levels. Just got back biopsy pathology report. I'm 1b, grade 2/4, stage 3/4 with bridging fibosis. Liver measures 21cm. Kidney enlarged to 15.6cm.

Low iron levels can cause hair loss. You might want to get that checked.

I'm losing hair too. Not in clumps but I clog the drain once a week from my hair loss. And all my friends said their hair was so full and healthy during pregnancy and after lost some. I get a ball of hair during evey wash and its not normal for me also my scalp itches like crazy and I don't have bugs lol o had my husband check lol!

Especially after combing my hair,there is a ton of hair in the sink. However my hair seems to be growing as fast as it falls out so I have thickness still. Someone told me to drink more milk and I find on the days that I do I see less shedding.

I actually posted about this a month or so ago. I have hair loss that really started post Tx. My hair didn't grow hardly at all during Tx, than about 6 weeks post Tx it really started falling out, probably lost 50%. Everyone says it should grow back fine after 6 months post Tx. I figure it is the least of my worries. Looking for my SVR12 in 3 weeks. Hang in there.

On a 12 week treatment with peg , ribavirin and sovaldi should I experience hair loss ? I am a hairstylist with very long thick hair ,still planning on working . Not planning to tell clients about treatment ,mostly due to fear they will not understand . How much hair loss should I expect?
