is glipizide 10mg the same as glyburide 5mg / because my husband was drinking the gyburide and when we went for the new prescription it had changed to glipizide and he hasn't felt good since the change do i call his doctor

Hi, I recently went on glipizide after a very bad reaction to victoza. I was losing weight, but now the glipizide is keeping me at the same weight. Has anyone had the experience that is the same? and is there a lower does that anyone has still been able to lose weight with? and yes I'm on a low carb diet and excercise plan. I'm doing better with this than I did before and I lost 33 pounds. It's the glipizide.

A little about me: I don't eat at regular intervals, I don't snack , I have 3 meals a day . Wake up at 530 go to work, eat breakfast at 9 and then my lunch around 12 , dinner between 5-630. asprin 81 mil, glipizide 2.5 (for diabetes sugar), Heart meds (coumadin -for mechical valves, lasix 20 mg, metoprolol 75m (beta blocker), amiodarone/cardavone 200mg, spironductne - 12.5 m) I'm not sure what all these are for...he does have a pacemaker/difib device that was put in mid-july. My question is 2 fold: Is it typical to see a worse EF after procedures designed to help? Is there a problem with his meds?

Is it OK to double, or tipple, your medication? I take Glipizide 10 mg. The reason asked is that I have been monitoring my glucose and it has been between 200 - 300, and I would like to lower my readings.

I also take glipizide. The gulmetza does not seem to be working for me. My sugars are in the 200 + - range. Is there another generation 1 or 2 diabetes medicine that I can take with the glipizide that will work as good as the actos did and not cost so much? I would like to get off the glumetza. I have elevated liver enzymes due to hepatic adenoma. Currently taking glipizide for high blood sugar, but is causing side effects. Weight gain, extreme low blood sugar, restless sleep. What can I take instead that will not affect the liver?

am now taking glipizide 5 mg along with colestipol 1gr twice daily and gabapentin 300mg 3 times daily and my blood sugar levels are staying high. First time on all these meds and my sugar levels were fine on lisonpril. Could one of thse being causing the high readings. My diet is the same if not lower in sugar and calories.

That happened to me with metformin and my doctor switched me to glipizide. Now my numbers are going in the right direction. I think you need to complain to your doctor and find what works for you.

Hi, My dad (78 years old) is on dialysis since last year due to kidney failure, on top of that he has a Coronary Heart Disease since 2000, so he is on meds. He does 3x a week then reduce to 2x week dialysis. Since last July of this year my dad has been experiencing too much weakness than normal. He can barely walk anymore. Then, he started having too low BP after each dialysis to the point that he passes out & sometimes get stiff.
