Omega-3 and Omega-6 seem to be very important for the DEVELOPING BRAIN AND NERVOUS SYSTEM. Much of the evidence to date has to do with prenatal and children's diets and consumption of to little Omgega-3 and excess Omega-6. The body can produce Omega-9 given a balanced diet.

And again, a recommendation has been made to use an unapproved pharmaceutical product, piracetam, that's illegal to sell in the US except by buying it illegally over the internet. The Omega 3 suppliment I was using was top grade from a health store. It cost twice as much as other formulas because of it higher quality. 6 full months of this Omega 3 experiment produced absolutly no improvement in my Severe depression. Perhaps my condition is more severe than your and that's why I failed to respond to it.

I also think my hormones all all out of wack but I can see a different by taken the fish oil for a month. I am less stressed cut out the caffien whic is hard for me cuz I love pepsi.

There are limits to how much you should eat per week due to mercury in the fish. You can research this on the web. I had a quintuple bypass 2 years ago at age 49. No more fried or buttery food for me. Plus lots of veggies and fruit. Steel-cut oats are great for breakfast and will make your cholesterol happy.

Avatar f tn I take one to fight babybrain. Omegas are stripped from myelin shealths during pregnancy and since they act as lubricant in the conduction of, essentially thoughts, our thought process is slowed. I didn't ask my doc about it yet but it does clear up fog in my brain.

So, rather than add a supplement to a food, you are better served to feed a food that already has increased omega-3 fatty acids (specifically, EPA and DHA), and has a ratio of n-6 to n-3 of between 10:1 and 5:1.

Moderate fat diet means = use polyunsaturated (omega 3, corn oil, nuts, etc) fats and monounsaturated (olive oil, canola oil, peanut oil, etc) fats, no saturated fats (high fat snack foods, butter, fat spreads) and no trans fats.
