Generic zofran for morning sickness

Common Questions and Answers about Generic zofran for morning sickness

zofran

Avatar f tn Hi again:) wondering what you take for morning sickness? I have taken OTC b6/unisom didn't help. Now on zofran but my good ins plan ends sat. Zofran without insurance using generic name, I can't think of it now but it costs 311.00 dollars without ins. You ladies know of an rx that is cheaper without good insurance since I will have to pay out of pocket. Thx for your time.
Avatar n tn Today I had the ultrasound and I am 7 weeks 5 days. Does anyone have any tips On how to survive this (hopefully) last month of morning sickness?? I've lost 7 lbs in 2 weeks because I can't keep anything down.
Avatar f tn During your next doctors appointment, ask for Zofran. The generic (ondansetron hcl) is usually really cheap, and it's a miracle. I have not just morning sickness, but all day, 24/7 sickness annnnd I work in an ER where smells are abundant. I have spoken with not only my OB, but several ER docs and they all swear by Zofran. The usual prescription is 4mg, but you can take up to 8mg at a time.
Avatar f tn I have an old prescription from when I had sugery its 4 mg. Will that work?
Avatar f tn re pregnant but I agree the benefits outweigh the risks. Morning sickness lasted all day for me and Zofran was the only thing that helped me last through the days.
Avatar n tn t drink anything with strong flavor dont eat anything greasy or spicy this will help too, at your first prenatal apointment tell ur doc about the morning sickness they will give you something to subside it.
Avatar f tn Thank you. I had Zofran and Reglan for the first 20 weeks and it did help me to be able to eat and keep it down. They gave me a script for Zofran once again to take 4 times/day. It's awful. Baby girl is doing great thankfully. Thank you for your response.
Avatar f tn Works for me id just consider trying cheaper things before you go for Zofran if its that expensive..
Avatar f tn Yes, in MOST cases it works, and most cases works wonders, it is the generic for Zofran, I have been off and on Zofran most my life due to GI disorders which cause severe nausea/vomiting and Zofran, or it's generic, has been a godsend for that AND for my morning sickness in both my first pregnancy and my current one.
14868695 tn?1443396776 Has anyone taken this for nausea? Its generic for zofran which has some medical lawsuits due to it causing clef pallet and heart defects in babies. I was given one at the hospital yesterday after my ob sent me bc of a pain in my side and really bad vomiting. And now I have a prescription for it. The side effects list is soo long. It says to talk to your doctor to see if the benefits out weigh the risks. Now I don't even want to take it. :( I'm not sure what to do.
4237864 tn?1406934017 Zofran is category b drug. Your baby is safe :) I had to take that as well in the beginning and now I am 34w4d with twin girls who are very healthy. Also I work in a pharmacy. Congratulations on your pregnancy.
349463 tn?1333571576 Sorry I just realized you are only talking about morning sickness not the motion sickness. That being said I think if the zofran is supposed to work you should know right away. I could be wrong but I don't think it's something you have to build up in your system or anything....Anyway again good luck to you!
1419259 tn?1303438666 Anyone else try any medication for morning sickness? What worked for you, and how long did it take for it to start working for you? Thank you so much!
Avatar f tn Google some home remedies for morning sickness, if you can stomach a banana they are supposed to help, soda crackers as soon as you wake up (keep them next to your bed) good luck with it, hopefully it goes away soon.
14868695 tn?1443396776 I took Zofran and had no issues just fyi...but I am with you. I am a huge baby about throwing up and so over it. An alternative may be to try Reglan. It's not as strong as Zofran but may help.
640548 tn?1340553355 Has anybody used them for morning sickness? Did they help? My Dr.s office is calling in a prescription because I can hardly function, but I'm just wondering if it's actually helped anyone. Thanks.
Avatar f tn Is there anyway to stop morning sickness? I know there's a video on here that has tips to help prevent it but I'm not able to watch it. So I was wondering if anybody watched it or just has helpful tips.
Avatar f tn So tired of it -_- I'll be 11 weeks tomorrow and it's like my morning sickness hasn't subsided what so ever. -_- can't keep anything down.
Avatar f tn Ask your dr about Zofran . I have hyperemisis (extreme vomiting) Ask for the dissolvable tablet of Zofran . Its perfectly safe the dr even said "im not suppose to say this but you cant overdose on Zofran so if you still feel bad just take another oneit wont hurt you" its worked wonders for me . Ican live my life normal again , i hvnt puked or felt sick in 3 weeks now . I wake up and i take a zofran . If i start to feel sick ill take one .
Avatar f tn I went to the er and got ondansetron (generic for zofran) but the doc prescribed it bc I literally kept nothing but one icee a day down. I got a script for 12 and thats it. All I know is they do not prescribe it to one indivodual in large quantities and that bc it can affect and stay in your blood for so long they have to monitor how much an individual gets.
Avatar n tn I had morning sickness very bad. Zofran didn't help. Crackers didn't help. In bad days I got sick everytime I would drink or eat. And good days I got sick maybe 3-4 times. Just take it easy. It will ease up. And even though your sick all the time. Eat a lil. Smaller portions helped me a lil and Apple our orange juice.
Avatar f tn I was prescribed Ondansetron (generic Zofran) by the hospital for hyperemesis from 6 weeks until 17 weeks after being admitted multiple times due to dehydration and starvation. I still felt ill after stopping but I was able to cope with it better. I asked my consultant the same question and she said no medication can be described as safe in pregnancy as no pregnant women will submit their pregnant bodies to a medical study (understandably!).
Avatar f tn m 8 weeks 1 day pregnant and for a good 3-4 weeks now I have been struggling with morning (all day) sickness. My Dr gave me zofran and it helped a little but lord have mercy did it make me constipated. Not sure which was worse! So....does anyone have suggestions how to make it go by a little easier. I'm vomiting 2-3 times a day and just constantly have upset tummy. I am taking a stool softener to help but have been sparse on the zofran. Any possible natural way to treat this feeling?
Avatar f tn I'm Very sorry to hear that I no exactly what you're going through because I was the same way nothing natural helped so they had to prescribe me zofran... I'm sorry to say but you're just gonna have to indure it until your able to see an OB because prescription is probably the only thing that's gonna help you since u already tried all the natural remedies and nothings helping. It's gonna suck but just think about it its all worth it for your beautiful baby..
Avatar f tn I used to have morning sickness but didn't throw up much either, it went away and ever since I hit 30 weeks I've been so nauseous it's getting bad.
Avatar f tn That is the generic name for zofran.
