Avatar f tn Viral gastroenteritis symptoms may appear 1-3 days after you are infected and can range from mild to severe. Symptoms usually last just a day or two, but occasionally they may persist as long as 10 days. Because the symptoms are similar, it is easy to confuse diarrhea caused by viruses with diarrhea caused by bacteria (e.g., Clostridium difficile, salmonella, and E. coli) or parasites (e.g., giardia). If your symptoms persist, see your doctor for further workup and management.

Avatar m tn Yes, acute HIV infection can start within three days. However, shooting pain and diarrhea can be due to viral or bacterial gastroenteritis or stomach flu as well. I suggest, you get stool examined for infection. Take an OTC lactobacillus preparation (probiotics) and yoghurt with your meals, after giving the stool sample for examination Drink plenty of fluids (clear soups, water, ORS in water, lemonade).
Avatar n tn If this is something viral then this must be associated with a viral gastroenteritis ( as associated with the diarrhea). It may also be a blister secondary to irritation or friction which occurs on your toes. Do you wear tight shoes or sandals? This may also contribute. I do not think this is something which you should be worried about. Just refrain from unnecessarily touching or picking on the area to avoid its spread in case this is infectious.

Avatar n tn Gut Dysbiosis, Leaky Gut Syndrome, Candida, viral gastroenteritis (stomach flu) food poisoning and parasites are all suspect. Most of these have something in common, which is bacteria overgrowth. Very low carb diet, peppermint oil supplements (enteric coated caps) and high quality probiotics usually help in such cases. Also Extra Virgin Coconut Oil 2T daily will help as it is anti-fungal, anti-parasitic, anti-viral and anti-microbial.

Avatar f tn Your persisting symptoms of pain, nausea and vomiting could indicate a viral gastroenteritis. The other causes could be jaundice if there is yellowish discoloration of skin, food poisoning if the symptoms occurred shortly after taking food, peptic ulcer disease and sometimes cholecystitis and pancreatitis. Please consult your primary care physician for further evaluation. In the meantime take oral fluids and OTC acetaminophen for the pain. Regards.

Avatar n tn They told me to stop taking the antibiotics because they suspected viral gastroenteritis, and told me to have actimel and probiotics. A few days later I was no longer vomiting, but diarrhea continued for another 2 weeks and I developed a blinding pain in my left side around my rib cage, I assume torn and pulled muscles from vomiting so much. I returned to work on September 9th. I wasn't 100% and I was very exhausted still.
Avatar m tn Your symptoms are meaningless and are not suggestive of the ARS. It sounds far more likely that you have food poisoning or a viral gastroenteritis than anything else. 3. At five weeks about 90% of HIV antibody tests will be positive but at least 10% will not and will become positive later. Avatar f tn However, a few hours after the fall I started to have sudden onset diarrhea. My temperature would rise and I would feel extremely nauseous. It is waking me up early in the morning and also happening regularly from late afternoon on. I feel wretched from it and don't want to eat a thing. I am just wondering if it could be related to the fall at all?
