Between that and searching the internet and talking to people who have been through one...I did my own divorce without a lawyer, didn't cost me a penny and I got what I wanted including support and custody arrangements. I was however fair about it. You might check into one of those books for your friend. Even if they aren't going through a divorce it does cover custody and support.

t deal with VA. For some reason VA counselors and doctors are one of the biggest prescribers of benzos, which is the case with my sponsoree. I went to treatment at a facility that was not associtated with VA. The VA in the town I live in does not treat with the 12 step program. I work the 12 steps. My sponsoree deals with a lot of loneliness and a son that is an addict/alcoholic which is always hitting up for money. I can help him deal with that.

The VA has been on a "crackdown" lately regarding pain medications-meaning they are "stingy' with them. I think it's a shame, for I believe that veterans should have top-notch medical care. That includes top-notch pain control also. Can you go to a non VA doctor at all?

The person who is representing me is a social worker from the VA. I was a Vet, and my bi-polar diagnosis is a service connected disability as far as the VA is concerned. I am very grateful to be classified as being 70% disabled, and have applied and was granted as being 100% unemployable. It's too bad that Social Security won't accept the VA's ruling.

Dec physical showed low tsh .07. Retest in feb. was .01 so referred to endo. Don't have great ins so went to my VA primary and retest in Mar tsh .007, ft3 3.77, ft4 1.18. I'm 5'2" 154 lbs. So now waiting for endo consult at VA hosp.

I'm assuming there was no Free T4 tested on June 6? That would be par for the VA... :-) Your TSH could be high because you aren't converting to Free T3, as indicated by your previous labs, but of course, we can't know that without proper testing. If your TSH is high because you have low Free T4 and Free T3, it's not likely you'll go hyper.
