Avatar f tn I have been on Forteo daily injections for 1 year and I have experienced considerable joint pains which did not exist prior to treatment. My left hip and knee, my right knee and my hands have been getting worse each month. Has anyone else experienced similar reactions?
Avatar f tn You should be able to find patient assistance forms and information on over 4600 drugs on the free website: needymeds.com. I have worked with this site for many years assisting people to get the medicines that they need. You should check and see if you qualify for the Forteo assistance program: http://www.needymeds.org/drug_list.taf?_function=name&name=Forteo Good luck! I am a breast cancer patient in a drug study taking the osteoporosis drug, Zometa.
Avatar f tn d try to get some anecdotal information from others who used FORTEO. Thank you so much.
Avatar f tn My doctor told me that I have Osteoporosis and wants me to try Forteo an injection for two years. Has anyone tried this drug and what were your side effects, if any. I don't want to make my stomach problems worse than there already are.

Avatar f tn Hi-- When you say Medicare, I assume it is Medicare Part D, administered by an insurance company like Blue Cross, etc? If so, you might be in for sticker shock. I had a similar experience w/ Forteo, via Part D, they wanted $5K for 3 months. I went directly to Lilly, and qualified for pro bono meds for 2 years, the limit of tx on Forteo. My understanding is patients with cirrhosis get priority. Other Gilead experienced persons, and there are a few here, can tell you more.
Avatar n tn I recently asked a quesrion regarding a patient with a small rectal cancer that could have been treated with radiation, but the radiologist consulted with does not recommend radiation as the patient had a cobalt implant 40 years ago for cervical cancer & thinks she has had too much radiation. She is 79 years old & NEEDS TO KNOW if there is another way to treat it without surgery requiring a colostomy.
5954444 tn?1377473390 Just in case you are curious, it takes us three to four days to detox a patient and get him/her back home drug free and feeling well on Naltrexone therapy (no opiates). At home, the basic technique is to space out the pills you take on a consistent manner until you take only one at night, then half at night, than every other night and then none.
Avatar f tn After body has immuno response, such as produce antibody and huge amount of hiv specific killer T-cells, CD4 will have slightly increase, but CD8 has more significantly increase. Positive patient has CD4/CD8 ratio <1.
408795 tn?1324935675 Although not as specific, it contain much of the same information and is readily available to the patient and the doctor. This information label was given to me by my GI to read and discuss regarding issues related to anger and depression and the potential for needing an AD sometime during trt. I would hope all doctors discuss this prior to trt, but this may not be the case. I'm also curious what "psychological evaluations" are being done.
1652596 tn?1342011626 t have any sage wisdom to impart, there are many many on here who have a wealth of information. I would just like to welcome you and wish you well in your treatment. Avatar f tn Skull osteomyelitis presents with headache as the initial symptom and then as the areas of brain and cranial nerves supplying that area become involved, patient may present with variable symptoms depending on the same. If you are having any such symptoms, then I would advise you to consult an orthopedician and get MRI of the area along with gallium bone scans.biopsy of the bone may be required to confirm the diagnosis. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and keep me posted Kind Regards.
703897 tn?1248019974 t think a receptionist should be lying to a patient about anything. Also he should have observed my teeth more knowing that this was the problem, and not keep me coming back to get it adjsuted.
Avatar n tn Thanks, appreciate the information.
Avatar n tn Hi! If you were my patient, I would advise you that maybe the oral contraceptive is not the best option for you. There are patches and vaginal inserts that might work better because they bypass your stomach. There are also injectable and implantable contraceptives that are very convenient to use. Starting and stopping birth control can cause irregular bleeding, so that is not too unusual. I always recommend a pregnancy test too though, whenever the bleeding is different that expected.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know of any good patient information or a workbook to try and reduce risk of forming another stone ?
