My ENT has me using Fluticasone, but no other suggestions. I am hearing whistling in my ears when I talk. Feels like I need to pop my ears.
Question, do the Flovent and Advair have the fluticasone propionate ingredient in common? Tonight will be my 1st use of the Flovent.
Concerned that I may have a mitral valve problem plus the emphysema. My symptoms of attack are severe shortness of breath, high heart rate, and the immediate need to urinate. Does anyone have anything similar to this? I have not been advised supplemental oxygen as of yet.
It could sometimes be due to the medication. As fluticasone propionate causes irritation of the nasal mucus membranes. Other adverse events that occurr with fluticasone propionate (with uncertain relationship to treatment) include: blood in nasal mucus, runny nose, flu-like symptoms, aches and pains, and dizziness.

Advair™ Diskus® (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Powder contains 2 medicines. The inhaled steroid Flovent® (fluticasone propionate) has a half life of around 5 hours, so it would be totally out of your system in a few days. The inhaled long-acting bronchodilator Serevent® (salmeterol) has a similar half life, so it would be totally out of your system after 5 days.
When steroid side effects occur, they may linger for weeks or even months after the medicine has been stopped.
You are correct in wanting to wait until you have achieved optimum benefit from the Advair® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Aerosol, before any consideration of oxygen use. The Advair® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Aerosol may raise your saturation, to a degree that will make oxygen use unnecessary.
It is also possible that some of the symptoms you describe, such as headache, shakes, racing heart, were caused by the other ingredient in Advair® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) called Serevent® (salmeterol).
Many of the symptoms you describe occur with panic attacks and are relieved by leading a healthy life style. If that alone doesn't control the panic attacks, there is good, effective medicine for treatment of panic and you should request it from your doctor.
I noticed that there is a small patch on my left chin, where beard is scanty. It is not completely gone but the hair is scanty and the patch is obvious. I went to my dermatologist and he told me it is Alopecia Areata, though it could be in "initial stages" and it is "too hard to say anything". He told me to apply fluticasone cream twice a day, for a month. And if the hair doesn't grow back, he will give me steroid injections. Should I get those injections?
I'm taking amoxicillin and my cheeks are very red, like i'm sunburnt, and very hot. It's only on my cheeks no where else on my face or body. I've been givien this same medicine many times and have never had this reaction, The only other thing I can think about is I was given a corticosteroid shot and nasal spray called Fluticasone. It's not shown as a side effect of the nasal spray, but could it be from one of these other medicines. Should I call my pharmacist or doctor?
Drug should be taken when necessary and should not be repeated in short interval. Fluticasone mainly acts as anti inflammatory drug and has no action on heart. Hence, these drugs can be safely given in patients with Atrial fibrillation. I suggest you to consult physician for more information. Take care and regards.
Am 21 years old... i had some red and black rashes in inner skin of my penis just below the penis tip! I finally got a dermatology appointment in Jan 2011. The dermatologist started me off with Fluticasone (Cutivate) 0.005% to use 2 weeks on with one week off for 6 weeks. It feels good when applied for the first 30 min. to 1 hour but they would just dry and crust again when I don't use retail lip balms like vaseline or aquaphor after applying it. I went to my second appointment and had a lip biopsy.

I take Spiriva Respimat (tiotropium bromide) 2.5 mcg/actuation, and Wixela (fluticasone propionate salmeterol inhalation powder) for my COPD. Is there a sequence I should be taking these meds in? Is there a time frame I should use between the two meds?
I am allergic to nine enviromental allergens and have been taking fluticasone propionate (flo-nase) for the past three monts and it's been working fine to treat sinus pressure, my only main symptom. However, since i started, i've noticed for the first time in as long as i remember that i've been getting thick nasal mucus either dark red or black, sometimes streaked and sometimes completely colored, while before it's always been thin and clear.
s not pleasant because she said they would do it in quarter increment sessions. My lips are still in a scaly crust-like state and have been this way since June. I’ve been to the dentist and do not have any problems inside my mouth, just the lips. My lips really are disgusting to look at. After all this my questions are why am I being given a steroid cream when we should try to treat the Leukoplakia? Are there any other alternatives than having the liquid nitrogen surgery?
I notice that the ingredient that in Flonase is the same (fluticasone propionate) is the same one used in flonase..
It occurs to me that flonase might even work better because more of the stream of fluticasone propionate would hit the back of my throat and be swallowed, getting more to my esophagus and less to my mouth.
The key point though is I can get flonase inexpensively, whereas the flovent is more than I can easily afford.
I was diagnosed with a Stage 1a, Clark Level 2 (0.40mm) melanoma in Sept. '07. I had a WLE performed which came back negative for malignancy. There were no other treatments or procedures to go through; and based on the primary characteristics of the tumor, my oncologist told me he was 95 - 98% sure I would not have any problems from this.
I recently heard about this allergy nasal spray called Veramyst and called my physician for a perscription.

i have got a nasty itch on my philtrum some two years back when i had applied Tretinoin in that area for treatment of pimples. the rash-like thing disappears sometimes but reappears again without specific stimulation. i had been applying fluticasone cream(which i think is a steroid cream) now and then for the past two years. the rash eases down on application of the cream. but that is never permanent disappearence and it appears again.
To my knowledge Advair® (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) has not been linked to strokes. Have you heard anything about this in the lay press?
The underlying cause would/could be inflammation in the airways that cause wheezing and/or coughing. Many infections, including pneumonia, can cause inflammation of the airways of the lungs. Even after the infection has cleared, it is possible for the inflammation to linger. This inflammation can last a couple of weeks. Sometimes this inflammation may linger for 3 to 6 months. The inflammation will eventually go away on it own.
Been diagnosed with non allergic rhinitis, feline dander, housedust etc allergies. Also diagnosed with excercise induced asthma in the 90's. About a month ago wheezing. Doctor has me on 50mcg fluticasone/salmeterol powder am and pm,plus albuterol every 4 hrs. I haven't been using rescue every 4 hrs. When I talk I start coughing and choking and have to spit. What is going on with treatment?
