Avatar f tn azelastine and fluticasone. She also put me on Ranitidine. I also use the nedi-pod. I started feeling better, but after the 30 day supply, I began feeling it all come back. Saw GI and he put me on Dexilant 30 day supply and that did not help. I went back to ENT. She put me back on everything plus methlprednisolone (6 day). I started feeling better for a good month. Even stopped the sleeping pill. Then I started feeling it all come back. Went to ER after a weekend of suffering.
2114467 tn?1358210256 i'm curious if it is ok to use flonase. also, is benadryl ok to use. I just finished using my netti pot for nasal allergies. I'm trying to be careful about drug interaction; I haven't started the boc yet.
Avatar n tn Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a progressive disease that will slowly worsen. There is evidence to suggest that the regular use of AdvairĀ® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Aerosol may slow the progression. The best way to slow progression is smoking cessation. The rate of loss of lung tissue in COPD is roughly 3 times as fast for smokers as it is for those who quit. Good luck.
Avatar m tn Once I finish using the topical steroid do I need to leave a gap before starting to use the nasal spray and if so for how many days?
612551 tn?1450022175 I have and continue to use Fluticasone Propionate and saline spray. This works okay but not as well as Afrin... but I can't use Afrin continuously. The Flut seems to have a cumulative effect, better with regular use. I think it would be bad to use saline spray following the spray of Flut. However, when I wake up at night a two or more hours after using the Flut at bed time, I use saline and it helps a lot.
2017838 tn?1330598150 Thank you so much for your comment In fact, I don't have any problems with my sinus anymore except for the ear popping. The ENT prescribed fluticasone propionate which I have not used until now because I'm concern about the side effects. My question is can the ear popping resolve by itself ?? Without using fluticasone propionate ? Or complications might happen like ear infection if I don't use fluticasone propionate ?
Avatar f tn Hello, It can be due to allergies, eczema or seborrheic dermatitis. It is not advisable to use the steroid cream for a long time because it has plenty of side effects. Take some antihistaminic like Benadryl or Claritin and apply some calamine lotion on the rash. If the symptoms persist then please get it examined from a dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar f tn single ICS or combination therapy (ICS plus long-acting inhaled beta2-agonist). Change in bone mineral density (BMD) and biochemical markers of bone metabolism were measured at baseline and at the end of 1 year. Mean ages and basal BMD of patients did not differ between the two groups (P > 0.05). The decrease in BMD was higher in the single ICS group than the combination therapy group, however there was no significant difference between them (P > 0.05).
Avatar m tn I take Spiriva Respimat (tiotropium bromide) 2.5 mcg/actuation, and Wixela (fluticasone propionate salmeterol inhalation powder) for my COPD. Is there a sequence I should be taking these meds in? Is there a time frame I should use between the two meds?
Avatar n tn how long does it take advair to get out of your system after being on it for 3 years(250 twice a day)? I just quit advair and doing other alternative medicines to help me.
Avatar f tn They told me to use some powders such as zeasorb AF and gold bond. They also prescribed Fluticasone to use once a day for 3 weeks. They powders help for very short term but the feeling comes right back. The cream didn't seem to do anything. I am lost as to what this is but am miserable with it. From reading several posts on here it seems this is a very common problem but there doesn't seem to be any solution. Has anyone had luck with a diagnosis or treatment for this?
Avatar n tn It could sometimes be due to the medication. As fluticasone propionate causes irritation of the nasal mucus membranes. Other adverse events that occurr with fluticasone propionate (with uncertain relationship to treatment) include: blood in nasal mucus, runny nose, flu-like symptoms, aches and pains, and dizziness. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn But as a precaution he decided to prescribe pressure reducing drops. I had a reaction to the drops the first day and returned to his office to report the reaction (bloodshot eyes). While rechecking my pressures,he found that they had dropped to 16 with only one application which he suggested is not usual. He suggested I continue on the drops for a week and then take a break and then take readings and see what happens. I did as asked and found that my pressures were about 19.
Avatar m tn I take Advair, (Fluticasone propionate / Salmeterol) once a daily inhaled. My asthma is not controlled without Advair, but is stable with one dose daily. I would like to take Harmine alkaloids (Harmine, Harmaline), but I'm not sure if Salmeterol is safe to take with Harmine alkaloids as they are MAOI (reversible MAOI however) are they safe to combine? Thank you!
Avatar m tn The dermatologist started me off with Fluticasone (Cutivate) 0.005% to use two weeks on with one week off for six weeks. It felt good when applied for the first 30 min. to 1 hour but they would just dry and crust if I didn't use retail lip balms like vaseline or aquaphor after applying it. I went to my second appointment and had a lip biopsy. I called a few days later and was told something about scar tissue and that it tested positive for Leukoplakia. Today she put me on Clobetasol 0.
Avatar n tn I agreem its sounds like a classic case of sinus infection and antibiotics will clear it up, but in order in prevent it getting out of control again, ask your doc about a med called Fluticasone Prorionate (Flo-naise) It will control the allergens that cause problems to begin with. See if perhaps it will help you. It is a sinus spray you use daily. Good luck and feel better!

Avatar m tn I was diagnosed more based on the symptoms I was having, and the changes in my esophagus which were very typical for EOE patients (mucosal changes, white specks, furrows). They also saw a 2cm hiatal hernia, and mild gastritis. Since then I have added fluticasone to my medications, along with the nexium I had been taking for a few months, and gabapentin for my stomach pain. In the past few weeks I have also cut out the top 6 food allergens.
Avatar n tn my 6 years old son had rad.
Avatar n tn If your melanoma surgery was near your nasal area, this may be one reason why your doctor refused to prescribe the drug to you. The literature also suggests caution in using this drug with people whose immune systems are depressed as fluticasone may worsen the immunosuppression. Patients with advanced stage cancer usually have compromised immune systems, but I'm not sure if someone with an early stage, localized melanoma would be immunosuppressed.
