Avatar n tn He is Rxing fluconazole for 6 weeks, one tab a day, 100mg. Is this safe? I am healthy for the most part, 40 yr old female with Hashimoto's. My main symptom is chronic stomach bloating. He is doing an ultrsound and x-ray of abdomen as well but wanted to get advice on this long term use of fluconazole. Thank you for your time.
Avatar m tn I have uploaded an image. I have been on an antifungal treatment for two months, but it was of noo benefit. Any help would be appreciated.
Avatar m tn A month ago I self diagnosed and treated a yeast infection based on my previous yeast infection (diagnosed by a doctor a few years ago). I treated with Monistat (miconazole)cream, which mostly cleared up my symptoms. I still felt somewhat irritated down there so I went to the doctor. She took a swab sample that came back negative for yeast/bacteria/gonorrhea/chlamydia.I felt fine for 2 weeks, then felt intense burning during intercourse . A few days after that, the itch was back.
Avatar n tn Thanks for your reply. I've already been on fluconazole for over two weeks. My probme is that while some parts of my body is getting cleared up, new lesions have also appeared in the past few days. Is it normal to get more lesions during a treatment? Is this a sign that fluconazole isn't effective and I should switch to something else?
Avatar f tn Have any of you ladies taken a single dose of fluconazole 150 mg during pregnancy?
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever taken fluconazole? It's a tablet you take (only one) for yeast infection. My pharmacist said it's not for pregnant women but when I called the doc and told him what the pharmacist said he said it was ok to take. Has anyone else been prescribed this? I'm worried.

938326 tn?1300878804 that is what I used with my first pregnancy. You cannot take diflucan/fluconazole (pills) but you can use OTC insertables...such as monistat or a store brand.
Avatar f tn Apparently I can consistently getting yeast infections due to hormonam imbalance. I'm afraid to overdose on the fluconazole. Is there a natural way of getting rid of it? I'm thinking cranberry juice but should I drink it once in a while or is there another alternative. Because I have to avoid sugar in order to fix my hormonal imbalance.
689655 tn?1227249113 My doctor prescribed fluconazole. She told me to take one pill each week for 6 months. The prescription information states that I should see results within 3-5 days. It has been 2 weeks now and just as I thought it was completely cleared up, it seems to be returning just slightly again. Does anyone have any experience with a situation like this? Should I call the doctor or wait 'till my next appt. in 3 weeks? I also have an ovarian cyst (reason for follow up appt.
Avatar m tn So I was diagnosed with a yeast infection earlier in the month and was prescribed fluconazole for it. But a few days later I seen my partner again and we did it without protection and he thinks he has it as well.
Avatar f tn ive had a vaginal yeast infection for MONTHS now, I have had several cultures come back positive but no treatment seems to work. My last culture came back positive for C. Parapsilosis and supposedly Fluconzole was supposed to treat it. I am now on a daily dose of 200mg fluconazole alone with oral Lamisil for 6 weeks. I am almost at 2 weeks of treatment with ZERO improvement. Is there anything else I could try? Does this treatment just need longer to work?
Avatar f tn This comes in capsule form that you can also buy from the pharmacy without prescription. There is Fluconazole 150mg that is a single dose oral capsule and Fluconazole 50mg that comes in a pack of 7 which one capsule is taken daily for the 7 days. If you are sexually active, it would be a good idea to get checked out for any STD and also have your blood tested for diabetes.
Avatar n tn I tried the clotrimazole and everything from my glans cleared up, apart from redness and itchiness of my foreskin. I took fluconazole and applied topical treatment on my foreskin for another month. Everything appeared to have calmed down and it seemed as if the symptoms were subsiding. Then at some point it flared up. Again, nothing on the glans, just redness and itchiness of the foreskin.
Avatar m tn Hello Doctor, I have been dealing with this penile yeast infection for a few months now. There is no discomfort and the only symptoms are some discoloration on the head of my penis and raised skin around my pee hole. There was, however, some discomfort in the beginning. As for treatment, I was given a single dose of Fluconazole which didn't work. Two weeks later, I was given another dose. No help.
Avatar m tn I m hispanic, 5`11 155lb. Had a balanitis candidiasis and took fluconazole 150mg and gone in 5 days. Balanitis is partially gone (still have a mild posthitis). After 7 days of taking fluconazole, whole body itching started. Specifically in arms, face, chest, side abdomen, scalp, genital area and legs. it have been 20 days since that, initially intermitten days and now daily. After sleeping, excersing or in activity. dont have any symptons until like 30 minutes awake.
Avatar m tn He said to me that is it not a dermatophytosis but eczema. The rash was spreading very fast, he tried to give me oral fluconazole (Triflucan 200) during 2 weeks. The result was very good : more than half of my rash was cured. Itching had disappeared. The rash stopped to extend. The effect had begun at day 13-14 and until 6 weeks after the end of the treatement. After, they gave me itraconazole 200 (Sporanox) during 1 week and it worked very well.
Avatar f tn I went to doc but I think you can use monostat or equivalent. Ask doc they will tell you exactly what you need. Dont worry, if happens and won't harm baby, the yeast infection or treatment.
Avatar f tn I have pretty severe health anxiety associated with a cancer diagnosis that I recently finished treatment for. I’ve been in remission for 2.5 years. I’ve looked online, but I can’t find any indication that it’s herpes since they aren’t itchy or red. I’m not sure if I’ve had a herpes test, but I emailed my OBGYN to try to figure that out. I’m not currently sexually active, but i was sexually assaulted in June.
Avatar m tn So I was diagnosed with a yeast infection earlier in the month and was prescribed fluconazole for it. But a few days later I seen my partner again and we did it without protection and he thinks he has it as well.
Avatar f tn Background info: I was given 3, 150 mg Fluconazole tabs to take, every other day. I started this Tuesday, I have taken 2 pills and will take my last one Saturday. My question is, before I started the medicine, my symptoms were pretty consistent with that of a mild Yeast infection: minor swelling, and my cervix was covered in thick, clumpy white discharge. No pronounced itching or burning, but some slight redness.
Avatar f tn Seeking a third opinion, I found my current Gynocologist, who prescribed a week of fluconazole, taken once daily, which seemed to help the dryness and rashy irritation, but not the burning, aching, and sporadic itching. After more fluconazole, she switched me to the birth control pill (which made me too sick to function) and put me on Zoloft (which made me too depressed to get out of bed), diagnosing me with vulvodynia, something I'd never heard of. I just wonder... How did this happen?
Avatar f tn Definitely go to the obgyn. Not that its the same but I had a skin problem on treatment that was making me insane. I bought every single over the counter thing that was in the pharmacy and nothing helped. FINALLY in desperation I went to the doctor.....he gave me a cream that got rid of the itch and the rash in no time at all. Had I kept waiting at home trying to fix it myself.........I would have been completely disfigured itching myself to death. It's worth the time and the energy...
