fluconazole for ringworm

Thanks for your reply. I've already been on fluconazole for over two weeks. My probme is that while some parts of my body is getting cleared up, new lesions have also appeared in the past few days. Is it normal to get more lesions during a treatment? Is this a sign that fluconazole isn't effective and I should switch to something else?

We both assumed it’s ringworm so she prescribed 100mg of fluconazole. It’s been about 3 weeks and it’s not working. I’m starting to think it’s not ringworm bc it hasn’t spread anywhere. Does anyone have an idea of what they could be? The bumps are about the size of a dime and raised and they’re both next to each other, one above the other.

Im freaking out because the more i look at pictures online the more it looks like ringworm... slightly. I notice somewhat of a ring but i'm not sure if its all in my head. Around the time it happened we got a new cat but we took her to the vet and she didn't have any ringworm just a fungus on her ears. I was the one caring for her at the time. Could it be that fungus.? I have dogs but i never hug them i just sometimes play with them and they have no signs of fungus or anything.

I’m a 20 year old female, and I have been dealing with tinea versicolor for going on 7 months. I’ve tried the shampoos and my doctor has prescribed me multiple rounds of fluconazole (spaced out between rounds) the rash went away after awhile, but I was not using the shampoo (I was using a natural soap on Amazon for tinea versicolor). Sadly, the rash came back after a month or so. I never stopped using that exact same soap, and I would shower normally 2-3 times a day (because I work out).

Has anyone ever taken fluconazole? It's a tablet you take (only one) for yeast infection. My pharmacist said it's not for pregnant women but when I called the doc and told him what the pharmacist said he said it was ok to take. Has anyone else been prescribed this? I'm worried.

Doc, I am 28 male, 6'1" 185 lbs, healthy athletic, no diseases or health concerns. In the past 10 days I have developed a red, 0.5 inch oval-shaped patch of skin on the dorsal head of my penis (see pics). It doesn't look very dramatic, but the red patch has persisted for more than 10 days without changing and without me disturbing it. It is mostly smooth, slightly red, the skin in that spot appears shiny with a different texture than surrounding skin.

How many times have you taken it, and has it helped at all. Best to ask for a definitive test for fungus if not improving, but please follow-up with your doctor to discuss your concerns as there may still be some other tests to ensure it is fungus.

For yeast infections I was always given either monistat or fluconazole. A bacterial infection like BV would require metronidazole (flagyl).

Is there an over-th-counter medication for ringworm ? I can't get to my dermitologist before New Years and i would like to at least try to get rid on this ringworm.

Then a doctor friend of mine suggested me fluconazole tabs once a week, after taking and applying oitment, it was cured but again came back after 10 days. For possibly 6-8 weeks I have had several very small bumps on my cheek like pimples that had not truly surfaced yet. The odd thing about it was that the pimples were in a circular form. I didn't think much of it. It seemed like 1 or 2 of them would come out, be red for a few days like any other pimple and eventually fade away, but for 6-8 weeks I have still had this going on. Anyone ever take fluconazole 150mg oral pill for a yeast infection in their first trimester. I phoned a pharmacist and he said it was fine and all the research I've done says as long as it's not in high doses the baby should be ok, but I am having some major anxiety.

When i put Lotrimin on it, it stops growing and does eventually dry up but even though i used it for a while even after the ringworm cleared, i found another ringworm 5 months later (today). I'm really frustrated. My sister told me to use Triamcinolone acetonide for this new ringworm and the ointment is anti bacterial and not anti fungal. I'm a little skeptical to use it (i have seen pictures of numular eczema though and what i have does look like it once it spreads a little more).

Usually a pharmacist is correct because they have a guideline that pops up that says do not take for these and they know medications so well. I work in a pharmacy, so I always ask them if it's safe to take anything during pregnancy because they know.
