Avatar m tn We both assumed it’s ringworm so she prescribed 100mg of fluconazole. It’s been about 3 weeks and it’s not working. I’m starting to think it’s not ringworm bc it hasn’t spread anywhere. Does anyone have an idea of what they could be? The bumps are about the size of a dime and raised and they’re both next to each other, one above the other.
Avatar f tn about a year ago i got ringworm from a kitten. i was treated and it cleared up about a month later. however a few months after that in the same spot i had it before it began to flare up again. although not in the same ring shape, still a circle but the center was solid with the rash. soon the rash began to spread all over my body is small hive like clusters. i went to the doctor and they prescribed me fluconazale to clear up the ringworm.
Avatar n tn Hi, I'm a m/23year. I was in high risk because of 8-9 (with condoms)sexual exposures and some of them were homosexual. Indeed, that first one of them was 22 months ago and the last one was 14 months ago. After that, i was freaked out, then 3 months after the last exposure i got tested for STD's & HIV which were all of them Negative. After that, i got tested again for just SDT's which became Negative.
20797525 tn?1510602613 I have had candida for a little over a year now. It all started with strep throat that I required penicillin to combat. Penicillin helped but never fully eliminated the problem. I began to notice a lot of itching underneath my left arm. A few times I would put deodorant on and it would sting to high heaven. Then I noticed that classic yeast smell. I tried all types of treatments with no result, relief or answers.
Avatar m tn t see anything like ringworm but have been very itchy and I have three children diagnosed with ringworm this week :(
3655860 tn?1347810128 I recently started to get red dots all over my abdomen. Well its started as dots then turned to marks. They don't itch or hurts. I don't even notice them until i look at them. Im freaking out because the more i look at pictures online the more it looks like ringworm... slightly. I notice somewhat of a ring but i'm not sure if its all in my head. Around the time it happened we got a new cat but we took her to the vet and she didn't have any ringworm just a fungus on her ears.
Avatar f tn I’m a 20 year old female, and I have been dealing with tinea versicolor for going on 7 months. I’ve tried the shampoos and my doctor has prescribed me multiple rounds of fluconazole (spaced out between rounds) the rash went away after awhile, but I was not using the shampoo (I was using a natural soap on Amazon for tinea versicolor). Sadly, the rash came back after a month or so. I never stopped using that exact same soap, and I would shower normally 2-3 times a day (because I work out).
Avatar m tn My doctor said it was a fungal infection in the head and so subscribed me with some shampoo (ketoconazole) and some fluconazole tablets as well as some antifungal cream. I have been using all medicines for around 2 months or so now. At first I had a patch at the back of my head (in the middle) this now has hair growing in, really tiny, thin hairs. There is one on the side of my head which has no hairs and another near the front on the top of my head.
Avatar f tn Hello and hope you are doing well. There are no known interactions between fluconazole and propranolol, so you can safely take them together. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever taken fluconazole? It's a tablet you take (only one) for yeast infection. My pharmacist said it's not for pregnant women but when I called the doc and told him what the pharmacist said he said it was ok to take. Has anyone else been prescribed this? I'm worried.
Avatar f tn Fluconazole is an antifungal and one pill stays in the blood stream for 3 days. It is normal to take a 'loading dose' the first time which helps get a jump start on the infection. I would take it as the doctor directed. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn A month ago I self diagnosed and treated a yeast infection based on my previous yeast infection (diagnosed by a doctor a few years ago). I treated with Monistat (miconazole)cream, which mostly cleared up my symptoms. I still felt somewhat irritated down there so I went to the doctor. She took a swab sample that came back negative for yeast/bacteria/gonorrhea/chlamydia.I felt fine for 2 weeks, then felt intense burning during intercourse . A few days after that, the itch was back.
Avatar m tn Im 25 yrs old and I've noticed small dry flaky ringworm looking bumps on my penis and testicles and also on my body such as chest and arms as well, but more so on my testicles. They don't itch or bother me but i'm just concerned, and I would say I'd noticed them about maybe a week ago. Pls Help!
Avatar n tn It is not killing probiotic cultures in your bowels. And 6 weeks is not really longterm, especially since fluconazole is not an antibiotic, but an antifungal. Candida is a mean one, and hard to get rid of. But Candida hates a balanced diet with lots of beans, veggies, wholemeal, yoghurt and fruits. Reduce your meat and sugar intake to aid the meds to kill it off. Good luck!
Avatar f tn About a month ago, I ended up catching ringworm from 2 new kittens my husband and I took in during Christmas. Each of us have about 20 spots each. My Husband got all of his at once, I "Broke out" for 3 weeks. While they are going down with OTC creams and Natural Remedies (Apple Cider Vinegar + Tea tree oil) I ended up going on Terbinafine because it seems like these things are at a standstill. So I have a few questions: ***Skin that isn't even affected by ringworm is VERY ITCHY.
Avatar n tn he took a second set of cultures and decided to treat empirically with fluconazole for ringworm, just in case it is. I have also been putting topical clomitrazole on it for over a week. No response. I tried putting coconut oil and topical hydrocortisone cream on it which seems to help with the inflammation but I have no idea what to do since I don't have a diagnosis...!!
Avatar n tn I first noticed the area while masturbating in the dark I felt something odd on my penis to the touch and investigated and discovered it was this small patch of skin. Please let me know if you have any ideas what this could be. I am 100% confident it is not "irritation". I have thick strong skin and almost never experience reaction or irritation.
Avatar f tn Apparently I can consistently getting yeast infections due to hormonam imbalance. I'm afraid to overdose on the fluconazole. Is there a natural way of getting rid of it? I'm thinking cranberry juice but should I drink it once in a while or is there another alternative. Because I have to avoid sugar in order to fix my hormonal imbalance.
Avatar f tn It is called tinea cruris and tinea capitis. When ringworm infects the area between the toes, it is called tinea capitis. When it affects the pubic region it is called tinea cruris. When it affects the scalp, it is called tinea capitis. It is all the same. Only, the ringworm that infects the scalp lives inside the hair shafts and can't be treated topically. For the feet and pubic region, the best product is topical Lamisil.
656503 tn?1256832023 s not real possible even if the kitten showed symptoms of ringworm, unless your boyfriend was in very close contact, like sleeping with it every night and cuddling a lot. Even then it would most likely show up on his body near where the kitten was, it wouldn't show up on his feet! However, if the kitten shows no sign (scratching, scabs, missing fur), then it doesn't have ringworm and there is not chance of passing it on.
541150 tn?1306033843 Awww, I'm so happy for Abby and you! Yay! Let's hope his recovery will be speedy from here on! Woo-hoo!
Avatar f tn One of the consumers I was working with had ringworm, I was very careful, and used gloves when working closely with him. About a week later, I saw one little circular patch on my right shin, and started to get worried that I was going to get the ringworm. I went right to my dr. She checked it out and said that it was not ringworm.... My question is,, has anyone had different types of rashes or odd shaped patches on their skin that looks circular without the bulls eye type look?
Avatar f tn I think we're saying neither would necessarily cause inflammation of the testicles. Anti-fungals aren't used to treat eczema, and it would seem an odd area to get eczema but a common place to get a fungal infection, usually ringworm. The problem is, you've taken so many antibiotics and steroids and those can cause recurrence of the condition and can also cause problems. At some point, you've got to find a way for this to heal.
