Hi, welcome to the forum, the strong probability would be oral candidiasis. This is a type of fungal infection, for which oral scrapping should be subjected to KOH and microscopy for diagnosis. It is usually associated when the immunity declines like in diabetes, steroid therapy or HIV.
It can be managed by oral or topical anti-fungal. Anti fungal is available as troche which you can keep in mouth for effective contact.
I am 56 year old woman who was diagnoised with COPD 10 years ago. I am not taking any oral steroids at this time. I use Duo Neb Inhalation 2 times per day and oxygen on 2 L continously. The Pulmonary Doctor keeps having me try to use Advair but I get thrush in my mouth anytime I'm on Advair or oral steroids. So I try to avoid them if at all possible. I am currently using Spiriva HandiHaler which I believe is not suppose to have any steroids but I keep getting Thrush in my mouth !
Very high fibre, mostly vegetarian. I don't eat sweet food like desserts, muffins, chocolate, ice-cream (except for special occasions) but I do drink Vitamin Water which is 5% sugar.
Right now I feel sore and dead down there. Before this thrush came along, I wanted to have sex with my boyfriend all the time which enhanced our relationship. Now, I never want to and we haven't had sex for two weeks.
Some days later, I got very sick, with stomach pain, diarrhea, nausea and throat pain. I went to the doctor who diagnosed me with oral candidiasis and was prescribed fluconazole for some weeks.
I called this girl and told her what happened and actually, she told me she was having a vaginal yeast infection that she was not aware of. At the time of the sexual encounter, I was taking antibiotics, which probably contributed to the fact of getting the candida from her.
Fluconazole (Diflucan) is an antifungal medication used to treat serious fungal or yeast infections such as vaginal candidiasis, thrush and/or oral thrush, peritonitis which is an inflammation of the lining of the stomach, urinary tract infections and a few other fungal/yeast based issues. This medication works by killing the fungus or yeast or preventing it's growth.
After 2 weeks I developed candidiasis on penis. Doc prescribed fluconazole for 10 days. On 12th day it reappeared. Doc told me to continue fluconazole for more 5 days. After finishing 15 days course I developed myalgia. I tested For Hiv 1 & 2 antibodies in the 5th week. Then I did p24 ag/ab in 6th week. 8th week I again repeated the hiv 1&2 antibody test. I repeated the p24 test again in the 10th week all tests were negative.
Sir, I had thrush on penis 10 weeks back. had fluconazole systemic for 15 days but relapsed again in 2 days. Since 1 month have severe myalgia. I tested for HIV I and II antibody in the 6th week and 10th week but negative. Tested p24 ag/Ab but negative in the 7th week. Do I have HIV. Still have itching and myalgia.
I m hispanic, 5`11 155lb. Had a balanitis candidiasis and took fluconazole 150mg and gone in 5 days. Balanitis is partially gone (still have a mild posthitis).
After 7 days of taking fluconazole, whole body itching started. Specifically in arms, face,chest, side abdomen, scalp, genital area and legs. it have been 20 days since that, initially intermitten days and now daily. After sleeping, excersing or in activity. dont have any symptons until like 30 minutes awake.
Second time I went to a doctor I got prescribed fluconazole 200 mg, 1 pill per week for 12 weeks, plus clotrimazole cream. I have taken 5 out of the 12 pills, so 7 more weeks to go. I recently finished the whole tube of clotrimazole cream and have been using coconut oil as a substitute (read online that it worked well for male candida). The white spots were well gone within a few days of the first fluconazole pill, but for the past 4 weeks I haven't seen many changes.
- Eating good quantities of curd, salad
- Debating between taking Fluconazole 150 MG once a week for three weeks or Lamisil 250 MG everyday for one week to cure current infections.
- Wearing full sleeve sweatshirt so as to not spread infection.
I'll start on the Fluconazole/Lamisil medication today, I might go with Fluconazole as it has worked for me and will be cheaper than Lamisil, and is about as effective but takes a little longer.
Please let me know what you think of this.
Oral Candidiasis does not only occur if you have HIV... there are other reasons for Oral Candidiasis.. see below.. also you are right you don't want to self diagnose yourself, you're only going to drive yourself insane.
I recently got really sick and was coughing up A LOT of flem and i ended up getting Oral candidiasis.

As a side effect of medication, most commonly having taken antibiotics.
However, the vast majority of people with thrush (or other forms of candidiasis) do not have HIV and their immune systems are entirely normal. I once had oral candidiasis myself. Having thrush is not, in itself, a strong indicator of HIV infeciton.
Perhaps most important, HIV test results overrule all other considerations in deciding whether or not someone is infected, as long as testing is done sufficiently long after the last possible exposure.
While from time to time people do get thrush from sexual encounters with infected partners, it would be most unusual for the infection not to respond to either nystatin or fluconazole and the idea that you have failed both raises concerns for me that there may have been a miss-diagnosis and that you might benefit from a second opinion.
Had unprotected vaginal sex with sex worker on 9-Feb. Noticed 2 or 3 oral candidiasis on 3-Mar (22 days) accompanied with tired, vomiting and muscle pain. Feel worried and go for a HIV test which using Ab/Ag Combo (ECLIA) on 4-Mar (23 days) the result is NOT DETECTED!

Hi all. Was looking for some help if poss. I have had oral trush i think for nearly 3 weeks now and cant seem to clear it up. I have being using Daktarin oral gel maybe i am using it wrong. It brushes of not all but most and is back by morning. But when I drink alchoel its crazy my tongue it completly white. Any body else have had this probem and what did they do to clear it.
I've been to my doctor to see if they can help me and the gave me fluconazole 150mg. But I notice that I have these patches on my penis one under my foreskin and the other 3 under my my shaft. I've been tested only Positive for oral herpes, everything else was negative. The patches are shiny and itchy I don't know if I should go to a different doctor or a specialist.
Been diagonosed with Oral thrush, annoying at the back of my tounge on the 'papllae vallatee' and was perscribed Nystan 4 times a day.
I take this at 7am - 12pm - 5pm & 10pm.
I started the course 4 days ago and about 25% of the thrush has gone, but the rest is persisting.
Any advice?
Your description is not consistent with candidiasis. If your are highly motivated, go to the library and review any oral pathology or oral medicine textbook, your'll be able to see picture of.fordyce's granule.

Beginning yesterday I've developed an allergic reaction, some sort of infection, herpes or candidiasis, I really have no idea. I first noticed it due to dry lips yesterday, but it looks like it may have been at the back of my throat already?
About 6 weeks ago my girlfriend had a yeast infection which I also contracted off her, we both had it in the genital regions. We went to the doctors and were issued a cream to use.
White throat patches could also be a symptom of any STD, including Syphilis, but symptoms for Syphilis take more than 5 days represent from what I understand. It could also be Tonsillitis, or Candidiasis. Candidiasis is common in AIDS patients, but it takes years to develop AIDS after becoming HIV positive and Candidiasis can happen to anyone who isn't HIV/AIDS infected as well.
