Flovent and albuterol together

Common Questions and Answers about Flovent and albuterol together

flovent

Avatar f tn Flovent is a corticosteroid for asthma. I take albuterol, a fast acting inhaler, that does raise my heart rate for about 10-15 minutes. A normal response to the medication. Since Flovent is a steroid, it shouldn't normally raise your rate. However, you may have a sensitivity to that particular medication. You should talk to your doctor about it, see if s/he can prescribe a different one for you.
Avatar f tn Albuterol created a vocal cord problem. Now been put on Flovent Diskus 100mgc and continue the Albuterol. Question, do the Flovent and Advair have the fluticasone propionate ingredient in common? Tonight will be my 1st use of the Flovent. Concerned that I may have a mitral valve problem plus the emphysema. My symptoms of attack are severe shortness of breath, high heart rate, and the immediate need to urinate. Does anyone have anything similar to this?
Avatar n tn I am using advair for my asthma and it seems to help with those symptoms and I also have a rescue inhaler Flovent. But i do clean my advair diskus before and after each use. I dont have any infections in my mouth or lung i just have the white mucus and it has only been happening for two months and I have been using the advair about a year now. I heard from someone that the white mucus could be from allergies...is that true?
Avatar f tn m having sideffect with Flovent and Qvar, is this common after use of inhalers for so long, what can be done if a person become allergic to inhalers, very worred since my asthma is Modered.
1315759 tn?1274044788 I have the albuterol for both, flovent,& advair. I take the albuterol & flovent inhalers 4 times a day plus the machine.Advair twice. But I still have flair ups & when I do the best thing I have fond for me & my grandson is taking a very hot pot of water of the stove putting it on the floor under us. Then take a towel or blanket cover our head so we can get the stem from the water. I know that's an old thing but it works so well to brake up stuff in between meds.
Avatar n tn I would go for the Ventolin. Flovent is a corticosteroid with serious side effects Among them are osteoporosis, overgrowth of Candida albicans, adrenal problems, cataracts, and on and on. In addition to Ventolin you can use natural anti-inflammatories. There are many - vitamin C, vitamin B6, mullein, marshmallow, boswellia, ginger, and on and on. I use a nebulized albuterol combination (Duoneb) as the only prescription. I no longer use inhaled steroids after developing serious problems.
Avatar f tn Switched up steriod to inhaled Flovent 44 instead of nebulizer and albuterol qid. No results. Chest x-ray and blood allergy (why not at this point) ordered and clear. Follow up with Pulm realized no coughing at night and diagnosed with Protracted Bronchitis. Treated 3 weeks of Augmentin 500mg BID x three weeks. Nasal and throat cultures test negative except for rhinovirus.
212161 tn?1599427282 Xopenex is similar to Albuterol and may cause palpitations and arrhythmias. Flovent and Asmanex are steroid inhalers, both of which are used for asthma.
Avatar n tn I had two MD’s say anxiety is my problem I had one MD give me Flovent which really made my stomach bad and soon after my breathing discomfort turned in to exercise induced asthma or spasm. I stopped the Flovent after four months because it would help for a week and then stop working. My stomach improved after stopping. It was by accident that I used the proair inhaler and found that if I use that inhaler 1-2 times a day my breathing discomfort disappeared and no bronchospasm with exercise.
1754037 tn?1327886811 t been tested on pregnant women and she wanted to be safe. My OB said that is safe to use both the albuterol and my flovent, especially because it causes more damage when you deprive the baby of oxygen. If I were you I would talk to your OB if your asthma gets worse or the albuterol isn't working well enough. My OB also told me that albuterol doesn't harm the baby all it does is help me breath. Sorry this was so long. I hope this helps you. How far along are you?
Avatar f tn Ive had asthma since I was in the 4th grade I am now 27 and have 3 kids. I absolutly can not go with out an inhaler. My kids are perfect. I don't like advare but flovent and aberterol is what I have been on for years. I would not stop taking any of the medicines that you are taking currently without your docters permission. That could be dangerous. I would ask about the flovent everyone is different and there are differnt types of treatment.
1425157 tn?1311651679 you have to weigh out the benefits and what is more acute and has to be dealt with and not getting enough air to me take priority over an occasional fast heart however you want to make sure that the doc has okayed you to take an aspirin if you are going thru this to ward off the threat of clotting....good luck...in know i after getting the okay from the doc threw my inhalers away....just don't do it until the doc tells you to or gives you something else in its place.....
1491064 tn?1288394052 and she took him off everything but (Flovent and he takes that twice in the morning and twice at night)and(Prednisolone i keep on hand now just incase he gets really sick) I will look further into it, cause in my heart i really think all these medications mixed together messed his lil'head up on thinking and speaking.
1754037 tn?1327886811 I have used my albuterol and flovent inhalers in all but ONE of my pregnancies and my kids are fine. I did not take any oral medications though.

393685 tn?1425812522 I GET SHORT TEMPERED with anything and everyone around me ... that and/or the Flovent ... the Endo said the Albuterol mixed with Synthroid can be side effects .. in my case more short tempered than ever but not too bad in heart palps with the mix of two meds.
435139 tn?1255460391 even walking from one room to another is a huge toll on me...I read that albuterol is a class C drug and has not been studied in pregnancy in humans...in animals is is linked to cleft palate defects and other defects too! Since I am in the 2ww I am not sure if I took my albuterol in my nebulizer if I'd be risking my potential babies health. I'll call my pharmacist or dr. in a couple hours but it is only 5 a.m. and I won't be able to call until 9...when they open.
1232362 tn?1333135406 However I am on FLOVENT inhaler and Albuterol inhaler as a rescue backup, and I use the albuterol only when I feel an attack coming on. So I basically keep it in my purse for security. The FLOVENT is very effective in my case. I too have had asthma for about 30 yrs. But have it under control. Please read my other posts concerning asthma on this site as I don't want to repeat myself but perhaps my advice listed can help you some.
Avatar n tn They are both on pulmacort and albuterol and my son was just put on predisolone. Nothing is working!! Does anyone have any advice? We are a NON smoking home and would NEVER let anyone near our children with ciggarettes. We do not have pets either. I just dont know what to do anymore.
Avatar f tn He is now coughing more and says his chest is tight. His breathing is fine. I gave him his regular meds of flovent and singular, I also gave him 2 puffs from his albuterol inhaler. He is now asking for his breathing treatment which is unlike him cause he hates it. My question is can I give him a treatment if he just had his inhaler?
Avatar m tn These include Albuterol, Flovent, Combivent, Spiriva, lasix, Diamox , Clariten and Nasonex. I follow a strict diet, no fatty , greasy, fried ,alcoholic or dairy. I elevate my head in bed and lay on my left side. I had test done which include upper and lower GI series, endoscope and a fluroscope. I do everything my Doctor tells me but I am still suffering . My Doctor also suggested that I lose weight.
1679876 tn?1304743615 My son has severe asthma and uses a separate steroid inhaler (Flovent) and uses his ventolin inhaler for emergencies.
499220 tn?1243052283 But I take Vicodin, Clonopin, Verapamil, Lamictal, Cymbalta, Ferrous Sulfate, Lofibra, Ambien, Lyrica, Flovent, Albuterol, Novolog, Lantus, Metformin.....that's what I can think of off the top of my head, there's more though....) probably because of all the meds that I take. But I was feeling good the last dose into the treatment 2 tabs for 7 days. But here I am again with another lump on my leg, just a little bit a way from where the last one was, and I feel sick.
Avatar n tn hi, my question is can we mix albuterol, ipratropium, pulmacort together and the order is give these medication together by nebulizer.
Avatar n tn We are currently using an albuterol inhaler 15 min before his matches, also a Flovent inhaler twice a day, and have recently started taking singulair. Thus far these have not worked. Please help with any suggestions you may have...we are desperate to help our son succeed in the sport he loves.
