i am having tachycardia, chestpain after using flomax - only second pill how long can take the side effects considering that i stopped taking flowmax 36 hours
, where normal for him means slow urination due to long standing BHP, but not as slow, painful, and dribbling as with Flomax. We are just guessing that the way Flomax works by relaxing muscles is causing these effects. (Could the enlarged prostate end up pressing even more on muscles?? I realize these are just guesses: I have looked at a lot of medical sites, but this does not look like to be listed as a side effect!

Thanks for writing in. Prostatitis is usually not a side effect of use of flomax, indeed it can happen due to BPH, for which flomax is used as treatment. It would be better to get prostrate examination done by a urologist and take opinion for surgery for resolving these symptoms.
Choice of antibiotics depends upon the kind of organism affecting the prostrate.

I am wondering if there is any treatment, besides a catheter, for a distended bladder. I have had several tests done - none of them indicating that there is any obvious blockage - but have concluded that my bladder is obviously distended. Very rarely get a strong urge to urinate, when i do go not that much comes out and it is somewhat difficult to release - seemingly no pressure.

Flomax can reduce the amouht of seman that you produce. It would be unusual though to have this production reduced down to zero unless the man was ejaculating very often. In general terms Flomax is a useful medication with very few side-effects..
I had my cataracts removed by an ophthalmologist who did not know that the drug Flomax created problems with the dilating of the pupil. The result was that he experienced difficulties. It is now 30 months later and he says I need to have YAG surgery done as my eyes have developed secondary cataracts. I can hardly see out of the one eye.
I want to have it done but because of the previous procedure and his not being aware of the effect of Flomax I have lost confidence in the Dr.

He takes 5 mg blood pressure med and he takes Flomax daily. When he first started taking Flomax; which he needs to be able to urinate or as he says to keep his plumbing working, anyway, he would have dizzy spells. In your case, acute infectious prostatitis usually need to take antimicrobial medication for 7 to 14 days. Almost all acute infections can be cured with this treatment. And it usually takes 3 days before the resolution of symptoms. However, if the second drug does not eliminate all your symptoms, inform your doctor for proper management. It may take a longer time before the effects could be seen depending on the dose. Or you may be shifted to a stronger drug with milder side effects.
