Avatar n tn On Saturday I went to the emergency room for treatment of my 1st Kidney stone, it is now Tuesday and it has not yet passed. This is not an issue, yet.. The issue I have is that while I had an orgasm on Tuesday, I did not ejaculate any sperm. What could be the problem?
187666 tn?1331173345 In people who do not pass kidney stone lithotripsy is the treatment of choice. It is indicated for stones 1 cm or less in the kidney and upper ureter. Contact your doctor if the haematuria is persisting. Persistent haematuria can lead to weakness, dizziness and hypotension. A medical evaluation is important. Best wishes and regards!
Avatar m tn Please, guide me on how to deal with a Kidney Stone Episode (last one -- 10 years ago -- stone passed spontaneously) March 7: a sudden onset of an episode of excruciating pain on right side of abdomen, accompanied by nausea and vomiting and bloody (pink) urine. Percodan + Zofran help. March 8: The severe pain disappears and has never come back. (thought I passed the kidney stone.) Internist finds blood in my urine (not visible to the naked eye).
Avatar m tn I have had kidney stones pass and will do my first lithotripsy soon. The blockage in your urethra is normal for a kidney stone, but usually that means the stone or even just a part of it has started moving down the ureter. They can give you flomax to relax and open your ureter to help it pass. I was under the impression they can do lithotripsy no matter where the stone is because it works with sound waves. Did they say they don't want to do that?
Avatar n tn I'm 46 yrs old male I have had kidney stone surgery 8/26/08. I have been on a cather off and on for about 3 to 4 weeks now also I have been on flomax for a week. Avatar f tn I passed a lot of small pieces but ultrasound still shows about 3mm stone in kidney. My main symptom since July 14th is the CONSTANT urge to urinate all day everyday. My urologist just kind of blows it off and says it is from small pieces still trying to pass. I just don't get it. I have no blockage or anything. Does this sound normal? The constant urge to urinate is becoming debilitating. Has anyone experienced this?
Avatar f tn I would suggest you to get an evaluation done from a urologist to determine the type of stone. Treatment modes include Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithrotripsy (ESWL), uteroscopic stone removal and percutaneoud nephrolithotomy but it depends on the size of the stone. If the size of the stone is small, it’s usually treated with ESWL in which shock waves are given from outside and stone breaks into small pieces.
Avatar f tn Read my post and buy the Kidney Stone Handbook. You can have treatment to stop stones from forming. .. if you find the right urologist. You have to have a lab test called a 24 urine test done... this tells the composition of the stones which does change over time Also some urologists will order this test but don't really understand how to interpret it... depending on where you live a nephrologist may be able to help you.
Avatar f tn s a nurse) would this be a valid answer. I have never had a kidney stone before and have never experienced this issue before. Now the other day when I was on the medicine I was able to ejaculate fine and everything was running good? Think it's the Flomax Subst-? Also for a second question on here, is it normal for my pain to be in the crotch area with a burning irregular feeling with the kidney stone?
Avatar n tn I passed the kidney stone now I started taking Magnesium citrate for kidney stone prevention? and where do I buy 10 mg of pyridoxine (vitamin B6)?
Avatar f tn A person with a larger stone, or one which blocks urine flow and associated with pain, may need more urgent treatment. Consult. Early diagnosis and treatment will be helpful. This is only an advice and not a substitute for clinical examination. a nephrologist for more queries and assistance . I hope it helps. Keep me posted. Best luck and regards!
Avatar n tn I'm not sure where you're getting the info that stent removal has all this pain attached to it. Have you had a stent before and had severe pain when it was removed? I've had a stent and there was discomfort when it was removed but not the severe pain you are indicating. There may be a burning sensation for a day or two afterwards when urinating, and even then the amount of that burning sensation differs from person to person and male to female.
Avatar m tn I had to visit the emergency room about a week ago with a stone blocking the flow of urine from my bladder. I often have stones and pass them with little difficulty, but this one got stuck, and I had to have a catheter inserted. I do not normally have a problem passing urine. The doctor started me on Flomax, but after four days I had to stop. I was dizzy, disoriented, and my vision blurred. Even walking was difficult.
Avatar f tn I've been having pain for 2 weeks that's been like my other kidney stones. I've had several surgerys to have them removed in the past so I know what I'm feeling. I went to my urologist today and he told me it's a 2mm stone in my kidney and shouldn't be causing pain. So why am I experiencing pain and was able to know it was a stone? Also I haven't been prescribed anything to help with it except narcotics for the pain. No flomax or anything. I don't know what to do.
Avatar f tn My husband is having severe kidney stone pain & ive read some home remedies on apple cider vinegar, but all I have at this moment is regular apple cider, would this work just the same? He needs some relief asap or any other home remedies suggestions.. Plz and thank u.

Avatar f tn d also suggest a great big steak too! May not help you with the kidney stone problem but it sure will make you feel better!! LOL! Good Luck and I can both sympathize and empathize with you on your last 7 plus cc stone! Been there/done that!
Avatar n tn Sorry about your kidney-stone, Brother. I feel your pain, literally! I get them all the time and take Tamsulosin (Flomax). Hopefully your doctor instructed you to drink PLENTY of water (3L-5L/day) until you pass the stone. Did he? If not, DRINK LOTS OF WATER. The mild burning sensation comes with the territory, but drinking plenty of fluids will help dilute your urine. I wouldn't worry too much about it, unless it persists after you pass the stone.
Avatar f tn I saw a urologist who thought based on my inital symptoms, and also when I showed him where my pain originated that I had probably passed a kidney stone. About 10 hours after this event took place, I felt like I had a UTI. I had frequency, urgency and shooting pains. It's been a year now, and I still have those symptoms although the shooting pains have disappeared. Also, I don't experience burning or nocturnia. My urine culture always comes back negative.
Avatar f tn 5 weeks ago I started having really bad pain on my back/side, nausea, urinary urgency, along with a few other of my classic kidney stone symptoms. I have been drinking like crazy since then and taking Flomax 1x day. The pain only lasted 2 days and then it went to my normal being "crampy" on my side here and there like I usually have. The urinary urgency has not left. At times it's really bad and other times it's not.
Avatar n tn About 3 months ago I was told I had a kidney stone that was about 5mm in size. I was given pain meds and flomax, however I never passed the stone. Recently my stones started acting up again and I was told to go to a Urologist to have them taken out. Well I cant get into the Urologist for 3 weeks and I have been suffering with extreme pain for 4 days now. The problem is that it has quit hurting in my back and side, and only hurts in my lower left abdomine now.
Avatar m tn If part of this has been kidney stones all along, why might I be getting severe abdominal bloat with these episodes? I have not passed stone yet (week 3) but put on Flomax 3 days ago and bloat seems to be reducing. Thanks for your suggestions.
Avatar m tn It showed one +4mm kidney stones in my kidney. All my bloodwork and urine were fine. Was put on Flomax and told to screen my urine. All through the next two weeks i had constant pain in my left groin area but also had bursts of travelling pain from my kidney to my groin. Passed two smaller stones and several fragments. pain was increasing in my groin and started having nausea.
Avatar m tn Internist prescribed Flomax to help passage of stone by relaxing the muscles of the ureter -- where stone is supposedly currently stuck. Checked urine -- no infection or blood traces. Less abdominal pressure, but still constant urge to urinate -- which is at least partially related to water consumption. Waiting... Happy, healthy birthday!
Avatar n tn Last November went to ER with extreme left side pain. CAT can showed small 3.5 kidney stone. After a day or so, pain vanished. MONTHS later, I had another CAT scan for GI issues. They said "You know you have a kidney stone, it's not blocking anything, just thought we'd mention." Went to Urologist, he said "Well if it's the same one, it is traveled quite bit, now it's in the distal ureter. Let's talk an ultrasound in 30 days.
