Avatar f tn I know walking is a good exercise, and this might be an obvious answer to the question but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of exercises I could do to maintain my weight. Im paranoid if i gain too much weight my baby will be too big and cause difficulties during labor which terrifies me..Im wanting to avoid a c section so bad!

Avatar m tn Physician initially said revealed dehydrated discs around the S1 area but later said they looked fine. I have been doing yoga 3-5 times a week the past 1.5 months and been to a stretch therapist 5-6 times the past three weeks but the problem persists. Background: I worked out a lot - Crossfit 5-6 times a week + a little running - and wasn't great about stretching. My hip flexibility was not good and I was sore all the time.

968857 tn?1247600450 A nice way to exercise at home and without any fancy equipment is to do a combination of yoga and plyometrics. Yoga will help you build core strength and improve your flexibility (and can really make you sweat!), whereas plyometrics is a bit higher impact, and involves taking steps, doing lunges, and even jumping around. Both are a lot of fun and are available in exercise DVD's that you can find online. Take care!

Avatar m tn I need some exercises specifically for targeting the support structures in the area of L1/L2. Note that I am reasonably fit. Can swim a kilometer, and do so regularly. Can't run/jog because of my back, and also the knees are a bit worn from working as an electrician in a steel plant for 28 years. Have a few free weights, a combination machine, and stationary bike.

Avatar f tn Hi! I also have fibro (since May of this year) and am a Certified Personal Trainer (ironic huh?) Walking would be great for you. It is a weight bearing exercise that will help strengthen bones without breaking them down like higher impact exercises would. Start with something doable even if its just walking around the block and add on from there!
