Common Questions and Answers about Flexibility in your job

flexibility

Avatar m tn I still suffer from excruciating cramp in my feet. Over the last 2 years I have built up the muscles in my feet and have increased flexibility with daily stretches and exercises but still suffer from painful cramp in my arches and toes. It seems to occur when my toes are pointed for long periods of time as I tend to tense my feet quite hard.
Avatar m tn I have flexibility issues in almost all of my joints (Knees, elbow, wrist, ankle). Coincidentally, all the joints in the right side of my body are worse. I cannot squat as the back of my feet cannot touch my butt, my hand cannot touch my shoulder, cannot do pushup as wrist will hurt a lot. I have done xrays but doctor said my xrays are fine. Went through physiotherapy but joints flexibility does not improve no matter how much i stretched.
Avatar f tn Im 37 weeks and 3 days and I work in a chicken factory and I stand on my feet all day long lifting 20+ lb birds above my head or below me. Constantly twisting my body, handling a knife etc. I too have tried to find ways to help with it and I can't find any good responses.
Avatar f tn s financially not in the cards for my hubby and I. If your part time job allows you the flexibility and you love it I see no reason not to keep it. Maybe ask your job if they would offer you your job back after taking a year or so off to spend with your baby. See what options are available to you.
Avatar m tn I started running in April. The hip tendonitis flared up after that. It's in the crease of the leg where the joint is. Once in awhile itnis bursitis on the outside of the hip. I started a new job unloading trucks and the hip tendonitis got out of control. I stopped running but kept the job. It improved. I tried eliptical after two weeks off and at the end of the work week I was back to severe pain. I am working on strengthening my glutes and hip abductors.
1651508 tn?1322141280 I would try to seek an evaluation at a good teaching hospital. It sounds like the physicians are doing a good job in trying to find out what is wrong. Medicine is an art and these things take time. Sometimes there is no answer. Probably you should get a holter and a stress EKG, and continue with a neurologist to look for an answer. In addition to the MRI I would consider an MRA, which evaluates blood vessels.
Avatar f tn t find a job that I can have flexibility in. I have worked in the restaurant industry, factory work, and I've worked for Walmart and none of that has been able to accommodate me and I've either ended up having to quit or I got fired.
Avatar f tn I just had to have it scoped because i tore my mcl and had bleeding under the knee cap and blood clots. Ugh. Has your doctor ever recomended a minipulation? What does your surgeon say about the lack of motion?
Avatar f tn Congratulations. You are doing an awesome job!
Avatar n tn I agree with you it does sound as if the teacher has to do a better job she is the one there and in control, you can talk to him,but at 6 they want to talk, I dont like the idea of children being that controled, when he speaks, theres got to be flexibility and Rules. so I would have a discussion with the teacher or the principle .
10314571 tn?1428116218 Anybody have any advice or has anyone who had a good paying job had to quit or been fired from their job due to pregnancy. I'm currently the main bread winner of our family. His job helps but my job is what gets everything paid. I'm so close to losing my job because of sickness etc. (Don't get more fmla hours for a few months) i sincerely think i wouldn't feel so bad ALL THE TIME if i just quit but i can't bring myself to do it.
Avatar m tn such as the type of job you have (physical vs sedentary), how flexible your work schedule is, whether your job entails working in a hot environment...lots of things make a difference...and, most of all, how well your body tolerates the treatment meds. I went through 48 weeks of treatment and I worked all through it.
Avatar m tn If you choose to play, listen to your body when it starts to give out signals toyou, it may help save your life. A rupture in the root in a scenario like water polo could be a fatal event.
Avatar m tn There was no need for any chemo or radiation since the tumor was well encapsulated. He engaged in all follow up tests and recent routine tests were all normal except his abdominal CT Scan showed some swelling in his bladder lining. All urine tests were normal - no signs of blood or infection...no sense of urgency to urinate or anything else unusual.
Avatar f tn I'm glad to hear that the baby is healthy. Are you going to keep the baby? If you don't feel ready or for any other reason, you can look into adoption. It's a great option to think about and look into, as it benefits everyone involved. Are you working right now? If you are not, then you need to look for a job asap to support yourself and your baby. You can't rely on your parents or the baby's dad to make it all work. Is the father still involved? Are you going to school?
Avatar f tn Static stretching before a workout good. What it does is force the target muscle to relax, it makes it weaker. The result, is a strength imbalance that can occur between opposing muscle groups. An example is stretching your hamstrings causes them to become weaker than your quadriceps. And that could make you more prone to muscle strains, pulls, and tears.
1609697 tn?1301069399 I have a quite professional job in the pharmceuticals business (not a sales rep!). I need to keep this job or we could lose our condo... My manager has mentioned "demoting" me because of my absences from work. I do have ADA notes from my doctors. Since they can't fire me, they are looking at demoting. Kind of don't have any options here. I do a high ranking in performance; it's the absences that are causing the problem.
2026067 tn?1328918808 In the mean time it is ok to rethink your steps and to want to make sure that it is right especially in your profession. It doesn't sound like it is just your job though it sounds like it is a general OCD and paranoya case. Ask who you are seeing if he could treat you for paranoya also because some of what you said reminds me of this disorder.
645390 tn?1338555377 Well, figured since I received some good news yesterday, I needed to share on this special forum here...Not only did I have a wonderful lunch with Lulu, which did me so much good...I got an email that made me feel good too. I interviewed about 1 1/2 years ago for a position at the local hospital near me. They did offer me a job at that point, but it didn't have the flexibility I needed.
Avatar f tn My daughter is 25 now, and 5 years ago she broke her femur and had a titanium rod put in her leg. She's doing fine, and now she's taking tae kwando classes. She is not sure, however, if she should push herself to do kicks, etc., or to be careful not to put too much strain on her hip. She's not sure if she can increase her flexibility by pushing herself, or if she could do herself harm. How can she tell what could be helpful as opposed to what might to damage?
Avatar n tn I think it's carpel tunnel I had the same feeling in my hand it was more my middle index & thumb that were effected
Avatar f tn I know that in the US it is a law that they can't fire you because you are pregnant. Now I did research for your state and its the same just about everywhere that unless you request accommodations because of the pregnancy like a smaller work load or to sit they can or cannot accommodate you. If they do it automatically and try to make you working there hard you can contact the department of labor.
