Common Questions and Answers about Flexibility in tennis

flexibility

Avatar n tn t have any foot problems or anything, but as a baby and toddler, my sister was fanatical about him not wearing shoes, over concern for his feet developing properly, and attaining correct balance and flexibility, etc. She showed me several articles by different pediatric orthopedists. The articles made a strong point, and convinced me she was doing right, but that was back when he was 2 ½ years old.
Avatar m tn I still suffer from excruciating cramp in my feet. Over the last 2 years I have built up the muscles in my feet and have increased flexibility with daily stretches and exercises but still suffer from painful cramp in my arches and toes. It seems to occur when my toes are pointed for long periods of time as I tend to tense my feet quite hard.
Avatar m tn I have flexibility issues in almost all of my joints (Knees, elbow, wrist, ankle). Coincidentally, all the joints in the right side of my body are worse. I cannot squat as the back of my feet cannot touch my butt, my hand cannot touch my shoulder, cannot do pushup as wrist will hurt a lot. I have done xrays but doctor said my xrays are fine. Went through physiotherapy but joints flexibility does not improve no matter how much i stretched.

5274485 tn?1385860167 My cousin in Arkansas is not the one that would wear tennis shoes; the only sneakers she will wear are the Keds Canvas Oxfords. She likes to wear ballet flat or huarache shoes, the penny loafers, moccasin flats or espadrilles. She has extremely high arches in her feet. Her name is Sam (short for her actual name Samantha). Her birth date is September 21, 1976. I am concerned because of her diabetes - people get Type 1 at any age.

Avatar m tn Good day! I have been experiencing tennis elbow (tendonitis) in my right elbow for the last 6 months. It's due to weight training and heavy lifting. I've cut back on the weight but still have soreness (though not as bad.) I've tried ice a few times each day, a brace when I exercise and Advil yet I still have it. My health insurance plan at work ***** and I don't want to go see a doctor as I don't have the money. Any suggestions? Thanx!!!
Avatar n tn I live in the Washington, D.C. area and would like to try platelet injections as a treatment for tennis elbow. Georgetown just finished clinical trials but I can't find a doctor who will administer this as a treatment. Is it still experimental? How can I find a physician who uses this procedure?
Avatar n tn I went to an orthopedic clinic and the doctor listened to my complaint and my suspicion that it is in fact tennis elbow, and then said, yes, you have tennis elbow. He showed me some exercises, recommended hot packs, and sent me on my way. He never once touched my arm or ask me to move it in any certain way. He prescribed tylenol. On the tendon (?) or something just above my elbow towards the elbow pit, I can feel something like a fatty lump and it is the source of all the pain.
Avatar n tn I have suffered with tennis elbow for a number of years. 10 days ago I had my 3rd cortisone injection which so far has had little effect. How long should I wait before seek further medical assistance? The pain, if anything, seems to be getting worse. I can't straightened my arm now.
Avatar n tn I am a 56 year old working female. The pain is in my right elbow and goes down the bone in my right arm. I have noticed I am losing strength in my right arm, I have actually attempted to pick something up with my right hand and drop it or have very severe pain in that arm when picking something up and the bones in my elbow stay sore and tender to touch. Any thoughts?
Avatar n tn My 80 year old mother had TKR surgery last week. She says when she stands or sits for any length of time, her foot hurts and she must lay down to relieve the pain. The doctor said this is typical because of blood rushing to the foot and recommended putting the support sock on. Has anyone else experienced this? Everyone is impressed with her flexibility and she's doing her exercises regularly but this pain has really gotten her concerned and regrets getting the surgery.
Avatar n tn I first noticed it after awakening in the middle of the night from pins and needles in my arm. Later I noticed that the pain seemed to be concentrated on my elbow which was painful to touch. Now my entire arm is painful most of the time and the pain seems to be focused in the muscle as my entire forearm is sore when I contract the muscle by lifting the lightest load. This includes my fingers. I'd be grateful for any suggestions as to what the cause may be.
Avatar n tn Oh, ha. Tennis balls are common here. You can try amazon, ebay, etc. They should be cheap. You could try any type of spongy but firm ball. I'm glad the stretches are helping! And yes, check in with the physiotherapist!! Perfect.
Avatar m tn There was no need for any chemo or radiation since the tumor was well encapsulated. He engaged in all follow up tests and recent routine tests were all normal except his abdominal CT Scan showed some swelling in his bladder lining. All urine tests were normal - no signs of blood or infection...no sense of urgency to urinate or anything else unusual.
Avatar n tn I'm in no way an expert at this type of stuff. I'm not sure about the likelihood of improvement in your case, but you could consider doing PRK. It does cost less, and it's safe to do after LASIK to correct any residual refractive errors. But the problem you need to have a specific corneal thickness to qualify. Other than that however, I think it should work. If anyone who is an expert at this stuff could clarify/back up my comment that'd be awesome.
Avatar n tn Have heavy numbness in both hands when using small garden tools, sleeping, driving or playing the piano, any idea what the cause could be?

Avatar m tn Tennis elbow is a tendinitis in the elbow area. Tennis is just one thing that can cause it. Rest is required. I think a physical therapist can help.
Avatar f tn Especially one the size of a tennis ball? Perhaps during the cycle as I had bad pain then. How can something that size shrink?
