flexeril

1415174 tn?1453243103 Hi again has anyone tried Flexeril (muscle relaxant)? Any bad side effects and did it help pain , I have I guess myofascial pain. Any trouble with withdrawal gettnig off of it?
1415174 tn?1453243103 Thanks for your advice and the link. I'll take a look at the link. I think they use beta blockers for PVC but I'm not sure. I am getting symptoms like fatigue and sometimes a flutter or shortness of breath. One of the side effects of flexeril is irregular heart beat. I'm glad I had a normal EKg or ECG and that my doctor already said my heart sounds very strong. So, I'll be going in today to see if they want to stop meds and/or try the halter. It is always something, I swear.
Avatar f tn I been taking flexeril for years because of muscle pain due to Lupus and for the last 2 months have been being treated for severe indigestion as a side effect of the med Verapimil. I was wondering if the flexeril could relax the sphincter muscle that is involved in GERD? Please give me any ideas or info you might have regarding if the flexeril would be contraindicated due to the GERD situation? Thanks, God bless!
Avatar f tn Not sure you're right about taking two or more of these can cause it. Two of the drugs affect serotonin, but only trazadone does this primarily. However, any of these drugs by themselves (not including melatonin, which is not a drug and is one of the safest supplements ever studied) could cause all of your side effects and the combination wouldn't be appealing to me.
Avatar f tn I was wondering what to expect in terms of side effects from quitting.Anybody out there been through this? I think i see now why the addiction psychiatrists wont prescribe ambien.....my gp doc did that, and yes she knew about my addiction to the pain meds.
Avatar m tn There was a study of 14,500 people who have side effects while taking Flexeril from FDA and social media. Among them, 3 have Seizures. The incident in low - but any incident must be reported. Flexeril, may lower a person's seizure threshold - according to one site. I understand why you are concerned. I really encourage you to talk to a good Pharmacist - indeed I would ask several.
1415174 tn?1453243103 Hi I have been taking Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for about 9 months now (doctors request). I have noticed that my heart beat has been skipping a couple of beats. Then, lately it is skipping more and I feel very tired in the afternoon. On Saturday my palms of my hands turned blue for about 15 seconds. I have gone to my GP and had a 12 lead ECG and the doctor said my ECG was normal and the heart sounds very strong. I understand a PVC (periventricular contraction) may not be seen on an ECG.
Avatar f tn No it sounds like you are either have a bad side effect from gabapentin or are allergic to it. I took 1200mg a day for several months and had no side effects other than being tired and memory problems. I haven't taken baclofen, so i don't know the side effect of that drug. Usually, muscle relaxers don't give you that bad of a headache. You may want to try Flexeril or another muscle relaxer.
1415174 tn?1453243103 And it's always good to hear from you!! I don't think you'll have a terrible time with a taper. I took Flexeril for awhile but it produced such a "hang over" effect that I could barely function the next day. I was employed at the time and needed to be as alert as possible. I tried a few others but either they weren't effective or they produced the same side effect as Flexeril.
604266 tn?1236358985 Hey all, Hope everyones holiday weekend was fab:) My pain doc prescribed some Flexeril for me today. I'm excited because it's non-narcotic and I'd rather just keep away from the any narcs. But my little(yeah, right)fear of medication is getting to me. I relaized the muscle relaxants might help because as soon as I started ambien my pain decreased some.
Avatar f tn I have been doing warm pool therapy and exercises to strengthen my core, and am certainly doing a lot better. Enough to try getting off the 20 mg flexeril at night, but have been having side effects from this.
20919253 tn?1651735373 Buy Darvocet Online Introduction Choosing to live with severe pain makes it hard to function daily. It affects each part of life, from sanitation to trying to cook, friendships to falling asleep. I've had painful symptoms since I was in preschool.
Avatar m tn My dad was prescribed 5mg of Flexeril to take 3 times a day. He didn't have any side effects while on the medicine and he doesn't drink or do other drugs. Right after he stopped taking Flexeril is when he started having symptoms. I really think the Flexeril was the catalyst of all his symptoms. He is not suicidal but just doesn't feel like being around people too much. He doesn't want to talk about what is going on because he thinks he will have a breakdown.
Avatar f tn I appreciate the help with the side effects, I was trying to figure out if I was having normal side effects and which would be from the Tylenol and which from the oxy. I am trying to make sure I take breaks when I can handle them from the meds, so I don't get dependant or addicted. But the pain gets so bad that I can't sleep for a few days, then I finally take something and wonder if I am in fact getting addicted? Scary, I have seen addiction in my family and it is not good.
Avatar f tn s a wonderful doctor and to keep my flare-ups manageable she gave me Lortabs and oxycontin and after several of each of these pills I have decided that I cannot take them any more as the side effects are too ugly. Besides OTC pills what do you all use for the extreme pain?
5082295 tn?1371250911 I took that medication too but my doctor told me I had to wait up to 2 weeks for the medication to start working properly. I had to stop it by the 5th day because the side effects were awful and that pill almost killed me. As far as I know this medication (Mobic) is prescribed for arthritis. For pain I took a muscle relaxer Flexeril and it worked since the first day I took it. In 2 days I was pain free in my neck, arms and shoulders after having non stop pain and numbness for months.
1243543 tn?1269124022 t had too many wierd side effects other than the sleepiness and since it is not time released you can cut it in half if you need. I'd suggest taking the 1/2 and if it doesn't work take a whole 10mg thing and see if it helps. Flexeril helps me better than the other similar strength stuff so I try to take it at night and then again first thing in the morning.
Avatar f tn GP tried upping Amitriptyline but I got weird side effects so dropped back to 10mg..GP added Melatonin 5-10mg a couple months ago helped for awhile but now I go nights with no sleep to 2or 4 hours. Anyone else’s have this issue?
1274661 tn?1301868321 I havent heard of the one you are taking but I take atenolol and it seems to slow everything down and keep my bp from dropping at the same time. What I can add is that one of the side effects of Flexeril are heart rhythm issues. May want to ask your doc about it before you start taking it again. Especially, since you are having some issues anyway. Have you had a tilt table test? That is how they diagnose POTS and NMH.
747443 tn?1233024111 Call your doctor and tell them that the combo of meds are not working. It will be hit and miss until you find the right cocktail. I tried Lyrica but the side effects were too much for me, Same with Neuronton. I am finally taking Ultram ER 200mg 2 X a day, Flexeril at night along with a mild sleeping pill, I take Zoloft 100mg in the morning and 50mg at night. I also take Baclofen at night. My internist put me on Norco for the break through pain.
1069827 tn?1296650628 barbie I have taken Ultram, Ultracet, Effxor, Neurontin, Lyrica, Flexeril and pain meds. All had side effects or made me sick because of UC and IBS. Right now only doing 5mils of Fexeril at night, 20 mils of Tranxene 3 times daily and tylenol. Helping with sleep problems, eases pain just a bit and keeps me calm. Problem though is sleepy, loopy minded, and balance is bad. If you do not have stomach problems Flexeril might help you if you take several doses daily.
Avatar f tn t seem to be doing anything which is why I was switched, but the side effects (Vomiting, muscle weakness) from the Baclofen were so rough I honestly would rather live in pain. With my spasticity I go through periods when it is really bad and periods of relief where I don't seem to have any at all or it is really mild, which is why I preferred to stay on something like Flexeril, but it just wasn't doing the trick when I had spasticity flare ups.
Avatar f tn Hi Thirdeye, Good to hear from you but sorry about your issues the Muscle Spasms and medications to relieve it. Tizanidine is used to relieve the spasms and increased muscle tone caused by multiple sclerosis (MS ). Apparently it is being used "off label" to treat your muscle spasms... unless you have MS and I have forgotten that fact. It is a short acting agent and is usually prescribed two or more often three times a day.
757527 tn?1237893063 My doctor prescribed 5mg Flexeril daily. I took one last night and my pain went from a 8 (on a 10 scale) to about a 3. Has anyone else tried these? Can they be used long term? I'd rather not have to rely on medicine, but if this is helping me, I may have to stick with it. I also get myofascial massages, use warm heat, take Vit B50, and am trying some new supplements for muscles and joints.
