neupogen

493068 tn?1224765315 my stats seem to go up and down so I only have to take it now every 2 wks. It is unknown whether filgrastim (Neupogen) increases or decreasses an individual's risk of developing cancer. Based on limited long-term data from healthy people ( if a person is healthy why would they need neupogen in the first place ) who have received filgrastim, no long-term risks have been found so far. good luck to you....hope this helped!
Avatar m tn Do you mean filgrastim? And are you saying Dengue fever? It would be a surprising though perhaps not impossible use of filgrastim. Dengue is usually treated by pain managers and sometimes hospitalization and a blood transfusion. Anyway, if you have a legitimate prescription from a doctor, you should be able to fill it in the United States.
Avatar f tn For this reason, patients are prescribed antibiotics and even receive injections to increase white blood counts (such as filgrastim or lenograstim). If this 0.4 value really pertains to your white counts, then I believe this is really low and what you are experiencing is a condition called 'febrile neutropenia'. I would suggest you ask your doctor about filgrastim or lenograstim injections aside from the Levaquin. Regards.
Avatar n tn Filgrastim is also prescribed as pegfilgrastim (called Neulasta). My doctor used the 500 neutrophill count as a cut-off, so every time I got down around 500 I used Neulasta. The interferon drops neutrophils and platelets. Some people can do okay with low neutrophils but just as many end up with kidney and sinus infections, etc., that make you even more miserable.
Avatar m tn Doctors unable to give any explanation for such wide variations on a dose to dose basis. Till date, I have also taken 5 doses of Filgrastim - the WBC Stimulator. Can you pleae advice possible reasons for such wide fluctuations.
Avatar m tn Neulasta® (pegfilgrastim) or NEUPOGEN® (Filgrastim) may reduce your chance of getting an infection, but it does not prevent all infections. An infection can happen anytime your neutrophil counts are low. Look for signs of infection, such as fever, chills, rash, sore throat, diarrhea, or redness, swelling, or pain around a cut or sore. If you have any of these signs, contact your health care professional immediately. http://www.neulasta.com/starting-chemo-with-neulasta/about-neulasta-neupogen.
1986676 tn?1329862471 Musculoskeletal symptoms have been the most frequently reported adverse effects of filgrastim therapy. Bone pain has been reported in approximately 22% of patients. Reactivation of pseudogout occurred in a patient receiving chemotherapy. Postmarketing reports have included decreased bone density and osteoporosis in pediatric severe chronic neutropenia (SCN) patients receiving chronic treatment with filgrastim.
Avatar n tn Hi, With modern medical advances, especially effective anti-emetics, and growth factors (filgrastim), chemotherapy has become safer and more tolerable over the last decade or so. Hair loss will be your major side effect, and some intermittent illnesses may also be expected during the course of chemotherapy. But your overall long-term benefit will be much more than these temporary effects. All the Best!
476246 tn?1418870914 , the primary ‘rescue’ meds are (generic) epoetin alpha (brand names Epogen, Procrit, Aransp), and filgrastim (generic) (brand name Neupogen). We do have a platelet booster here that has been approved for cancer treatment; it is generically known as oprelvekin (brand name Neumega), but its use has not been FDA approved for HCV treatment to my knowledge; it tends to worsen hemolytic anemia, although we have had a few patients in forum that have tried it.
Avatar f tn I've always had self image issues, even struggled with an eating disorder. And now that I'm pregnant (and single) i feel so unattractive and disgusted with my body, even down to the fact i have hair on my legs. Im 26 weeks 3 days and i feel like everyday i get grosser. I don't have stretch marks or the line on my tummy or anything so i feel like I'm just being self destructive but does anyone else feel like this or know how to help?
Avatar f tn Anyone else struggling with their body image with their pregnancy? I have always been conscious with my weight. And since getting pregnant i am hating my cleaner way of eating. I am still trying to do one salad a day along with complex carbs but my sweet tooth is killing me. I am 12w 3D and gained approx 6.5lbs so far. Clothes are getting tight in my hips and thighs too. I keep telling myself I am doing good, but it it's a big mental struggle too...I keep seeing posts of little weight gain..
Avatar f tn You are overreacting. I always had body image problems but now that I'm pregnant I dont really care any more. I'm hoping your husband is not with you only for your looks. I mean I'd course you don't want to let your self go and look like a slob but shouldn't be too concerned about him watching porn. I know my husband masturbates and so do I. Its normal. Now he is afraid that baby might just come out if we do it lol. Unless he is a porn addict I dont see a problem with it.
Avatar f tn To add some information, about 6 years ago, a had a macular pucker (which resolved spontaneously), and the image I saw from the pucker looked similar to this image, in fact I fully expected my ophthalmologist to say I had another one. Also, about 10-15 years ago I had an MRI that showed I had a slightly enlarged pituitary gland. Could pressure from the gland on my optic nerve cause this symptom?
Avatar f tn My son has a rare medical disorder and I don't know to much about it. I am looking for any info I can get. I am not sure of the medical term that it is called, but one docter called my son a "Mirror Image Child." I know that this means that his internal organs are on the opposite side of the body than what they should be. Example: Your heart is on the left side of the body and his is on the right same with the stomach and intestins.
712314 tn?1303098090 No, it is not likely that you've gained 20 pounds. You labelled your post correctly: "body image". Feeling big is a part of your eating disorder. First of all, congratulations on making it through the holidays without purging or restricting! Give yourself a pat on the back! What I would suggest you do now is get ongoing support to strengthen your recovery.
Avatar m tn I saw ghost image on every object I see. The ghost image disappear when I close/lower my eyelid until some openings... May I know what's wrong with me? Any advices?
579258 tn?1250649343 I used to have horrible body image. I was 5 foot 7 150lbs and wore a 36DD bra from 6th grade (Age 10) on. My friends always said I was lucky, but I got picked up on by way older guys & it always made me very uncomfortable, I even got picked up on by a teacher my freshman year of high school ( he told me I needed a man to keep me warm) YUCK!! I always wore Big T-shirts and flannel pants. Never anything that brought any attention to my figure. I wanted people to see me, not my boobs.
Avatar m tn would anybody else like this forum to host a categorized image library of MRI scans--various processes (T1, T2, PD, etc.) and axial and saggital views of both the brain and the spine? I don't even know if it's possible to do that here, but it would be interesting for my curiosity (and, OK, to satisfy propensity to try to self-diagnose while I'm in limbo).
Avatar f tn / he keeps telling me that it will be better after the baby but I don't think he realizes that aside from the healing time, we're going to have a newborn and won't be able to do anything quite as frequently especially because our baby will have to sleep in our room til we get a bigger house ): just a crappy feeling
